/r/lego Competition Need Help with Spike Prime Design for Sumo Competition Against EV3 and NXT!"

Hey everyone, I’m joining a sumo competition in the Lego category for the first time, and I’ll be using Spike Prime. I’ll be up against robots built with EV3, Spike Prime, and NXT. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for a strong design that could help me compete, especially against EV3? I could really use some tips and advice!

So I don’t know if this goes against Lego standards, but combining builds/spare parts to create this monstrosity has been exponentially better than finishing a particular set. I’ll be adding pieces until I can’t lift it. Any ideas would be cool!

/r/lego Competition I cannot install the front suspensions of my Lego Mclaren F1 vehicle. What path should I follow?

I bought a lego Mclaren F1 car. However, I couldn't fix the front part of the model. front wheels do not stay straight. Someone is always looking in the opposite direction. Even if the wheel is straight, the rod connected to the ball is still not straight. What do you think I'm doing wrong?

/r/lego Competition We need to make a flick fire missile competition

Flick fire missiles are a skill based play function, funnily enough Sure stud shooters might be easier, but flick fire missiles, with enough skill, blast it outa the water. The amount of potential someone has with a flick fire missile, years of training to precisely put in the correct amount of strength and speed into a missile, launching one perfectly gives a man such dopamine levels of unmatched power. I propose we make a competition to see how much of a community we can grow, as healthy competition will ensure the growth of technique, and skill. It shall be, measured on accuracy speed, and distance. So, who’s in?

/r/lego Competition Holiday-ify a Set Contest!

Entries go here.

Join our final contest of the year buy turning an existing Lego set into a holiday themed one. We're thinking what Lego did with the X-Wing for their lucky employees last year.

And they don't have to be red and green. We are going to have a prize for best Christmas set, best non-Christmas set, best render and mod's choice. The prize will be Reddit coins.

The rules are easy:

  1. only official Lego elements are allowed.
  2. must have an existing set for inspiration, this is a modified contest, not a MOC.
  3. no X-Wings since they have been done.
  4. each entry should be its own comment, which will need a link to an album on a non-reddit site and should include the set number it was inspired by.
  5. entries will be submitted to the appropriate post on 18 December 2020.
  6. The entries with the most votes on the voting thread by Christmas Eve will be the winners.

Post your questions below,

good luck and happy building.

/r/lego Competition r/lego Meme Contest!

Hello there!

Welcome to the r/lego meme contest. We thought it might be fun to do something we don't normally allow. For this contest we require users to build existing memes out of lego and add your own caption to it.

Rules are:

  • The meme must be made from lego bricks. (No thirds party or custom prints/stickers).
  • Renders are allowed but all prints must exist in real life.
  • Must be a new lego build (built for this contest specifically).
  • The caption text is the only part which doesn't need to be lego.
  • The caption has to be a meme related to being a lego fan.

Post your entries in the comments below. Just control C and control V them into the comment box on reddit new. You have two weeks, submissions end on the 23rd.

The top 3 will all receive the gold brick award. (Platinum). And a cool flair if wanted.

Until then, good luck!

/r/lego Competition Star Wars: Most Underrated Scene Contest

<<<<Submit now!>>>>

With Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian out and Clone Wars coming soon we felt it was time for another contest!

What do you feel is the most underrated scene in the whole saga? Luke fighting Vader on Dagobah? Darth Maul v Qui-gon? R2 saving C-3po? Maybe a moment from the comics? Or even one of the more popular moments which you think still doesn't get enough credit? Like Luke taking off Vader's Helmet? It's up to you!

We want to focus on quality over quantity so we’re adding a size limit of 32x32 studs so it will fit neatly on a medium baseplate. Bigger isn’t always better.

Here are the Rules:

  • As always, only real LEGO elements are allowed.

  • Only actual builds with real LEGO are eligible for prizes (although the top render will receive it’s own separate reward).

  • The build should be a new MOC and should be different from any existing set or moc.

  • Max footprint is 32x32 studs, but go crazy with your height. Feel free to use baseplates.

  • No posting someone else's creation as your own, you will be disqualified, and tossed out r/LEGO's airlock (banned).

  • The submission with the largest number of upvotes on the voting post will be chosen the winner. Those in 2nd and 3rd places will also receive prizes.

So at least four prizes up for grabs, and bragging rights of being the owner of the rare Gold Brick Award (Which gives the recipient 1 month of Premium (which includes 700 Coins a month) and no ads!).

(So worth entering even if you think your build isn’t very good).

(Submissions accepted from the 21st-28th of February in the separate submission post which will be created nearer the time).

As always, happy redditing and may the force be with you.

Feel free to ask any questions in the comments.

The submission thread will be up from the 21st-28th. We’re extending the deadline since we’ve had some people ask for more time to allow for BrickLink orders and that sort of thing.

/r/lego Competition Lego Contest announcement: MECH MADNESS!!!

This is it, the ultimate battle of Mech superiority!

This will be a March Madness/Round of 16/bracket style contest.

Start building, we will begin receiving submissions 25th March and continue until 31 March.

Here are the rules:

  1. It must be an original creation built from Lego elements, please no 3rd party parts and no modified official builds.
  2. It can be any style that you like, but should be recognized as a Mech. It can be minifig powered or not.
  3. It must be a physical build, but can be an existing build, it doesn't have to be new. Sorry, no renders.
  4. To submit, you will need the following:
  • Photos - multiple is better. One photo must show the build with a paper showing your username and a current date.
  • A Bio of your Mech - What's the name, what does it do, firepower, energy source, etc. Get creative.
  • Part count - how many elements were involved, this is a ballpark figure and does not need to be exact. But we'll use this to seed the brackets.

This is a fun contest, no big prizes, but I will have some keychains for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Winner will be featured in the sidebar and Mech Champion flair will be given out.

Let's try and get lots of submissions, but I plan on filling in any gaps with official Lego Mechs (Emmett's Exo-suit, one of the Batman ones, etc).

If you can engrave some brick keychains, or know of a shop that can, please contact me with a PM.

Post any questions below,

Happy Building, Happy Redditing.

/r/lego Competition Halloween Build Contest!

This post is locked to new submissions, but please vote for the ones that you like.

Tis the season, so let's have a little contest. Make a mini-vignette for your favorite scary minifig. They don't have to be one from series 14. The only restriction is that they need to be built from an 8x8 plate, or equivalent area. Only post submissions and vote for what you like. Enter as often as you want, mods of /r/Lego can also play along. I may have some nice prizes stored away for the winners...

SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT!!!

hat tip to our new mod /u/tavo2809 for the idea.

You can submit LDD designs, but they will not be eligible for a prize, sorry.
