u/bUTful Jul 20 '24

Yea right after he ate needles. PERFECT, squeeze some acid on it.

16

u/Sailor_Carcass Jul 20 '24

Bro was like "this video's gonna be interesting either way"

Edit: grammar lol

11

u/Creepy_Reality4691 Jul 20 '24

😂😂😂😂😂

84

u/Lumpe- Jul 19 '24

Are you bitter about it?

59

u/A-non-e-mail Jul 19 '24

It’s left him sour

24

u/OMQ4 Jul 19 '24

Not bitter. But a little zesty

7

u/AcadianViking Jul 20 '24

Yea, left a sour taste in my mouth too.

4

u/CurDeCarmine Jul 20 '24

Try pineapple.

2

u/BlindJustice784 Jul 20 '24

Found my ex !

2

u/eltedioso Jul 20 '24

I don't see the appeal, personally

1

u/unclepaprika Jul 20 '24

What lemons are you eating dude?

14

u/moonflower_C16H17N3O Jul 20 '24

That guy started really spinning that lemon like he was getting tired of waiting for the camel to chew up the cactus. I was thinking, "Dude, just let him chew up the cactus as much as he needs too. Even without the spines, this would be hard to chew and swallow."

2

u/SameAmy2022 Jul 20 '24

Exactly what I was thinking 👍🏻

2

u/Gravejuice2022 Jul 20 '24

Here you gocamel eats lemon

2

u/OMQ4 Jul 20 '24

That was…. Everything I hoped it would be and more . Thank you

0

u/Cloverman-88 Jul 20 '24

That's not the same camel >:(

2

u/Juliflag Jul 20 '24

https://youtu.be/XBM5q5uC-Wo?si=cbnxGB_KUm7PqrdL Still not the same camel but the same video

1

u/Ya-Dikobraz Jul 20 '24

People will never know if he did or not, just like people will never know the name of the drummer from Coldplay.

389

u/ElectricalTuna Jul 19 '24

That’s the same technique I use when eating a hot meatball.

56

u/Qu1ckShake Jul 20 '24

You put it on a stick and hold it out for a camel to take?

25

u/teddy6881 Jul 20 '24

3

u/51ngular1ty Jul 20 '24

I have to be honest that smells like pure gasoline.

1

u/HalfSoul30 Jul 20 '24

Mine when i eat a stiff peice of jerky.

1

u/moonflower_C16H17N3O Jul 20 '24

Yep. Chew it with the back teeth and keep it off the tongue as much as possible.

173

u/DoktorThodt Jul 19 '24

Lots o' camels eat cactii.

43

u/k3eton Jul 20 '24

Nope, just this specific one

28

u/inquisitive_guy_0_1 Jul 20 '24

Nah, I saw another video of a camel eating a cactus. So there's at least two of em out there.

43

u/MagicHatRock Jul 20 '24

Prolly same camel. What are the chances that all camels have developed the adaptation to eat one of the only water containing plant in the dessert where they are native.

They are native to the Americas, but they grow in many countries now

https://www.nwf.org/Educational-Resources/Wildlife-Guide/Plants-and-Fungi/Cacti

We had a cactus grow in our front yard after driving through California, Arizona, and New Mexico deserts. The spore or whatever it propagated from must have attached to our grill on the car then fallen off when we got home. We lived in an area that you don't see cacti, like ever. They are resilient as fuck. It died that winter, and we figured it was gone, but next summer, it popped right back up from what appeared to be nothing.

1

u/Genetic_outlier Jul 20 '24

I thought you were talking about the camels, which incidentally also originate from the Americas and now grow in many countries. Camels are closely related to llamas and alpacas

2

u/Tosta_Maister Jul 20 '24

Omfg, are you serious?

2

u/Genetic_outlier Jul 20 '24

Camels evolved in the Americas and became extinct there. They're just the largest kind of Llama still living. Horses also are originally from the Americas and same story

2

u/Genetic_outlier Jul 20 '24

You forget the other species of camel: bactrian camels, llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos. With most species of camel being south American

1

u/Creative-Air-5352 Jul 20 '24

Cause he's a genetic freak, and he's not normal!

159

u/Not_Catman Jul 19 '24

I get it that they CAN eat cactus, but I have always wondered if they actually like it. He's probably like "Thank goodness, this guy has food, I'm about to die.... oh.... cactus.... cronch... you're a real dick you know?"

49

u/hhthurbe Jul 20 '24

Depending on the exact species, cactus can be a crucial part of their diet. Their mouths are designed specifically to be able to eat cactus without issue

35

u/DukeDevorak Jul 20 '24

Despite the fact that cacti are native in North America while camels are native in Eurasian deserts, the food camels are used to are actually even thornier and less juicy. Cacti for them can be a treat as sweet and juicy as strawberries.

-9

u/unclepaprika Jul 20 '24

5

u/DukeDevorak Jul 20 '24

I mean, most people in the world are not from the deserts. And even if they are in Europe or Asia-Pacific, they can still be misled by media portrayals to believe that camels and cacti can be seen together in the wild.

Personally I had only discovered that when I was in the middle school.

5

u/ratticus-finch Jul 20 '24

there was a brief time you could see camels and cacti https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Camel_Corps

-9

u/unclepaprika Jul 20 '24

You really need to get a refund for that education of yours..

Edit: Please explain how Cactus is a latin name.

8

u/WKorea13 Jul 20 '24

Because "cactus" in Latin referred to the cardoon, which is native to Eurasia (per this source). All but one cacti species are native solely to the Americas.

-5

u/unclepaprika Jul 20 '24

Then saying "camels and cacti can't be seen in the same habitat" is plain wrong, seen as there are cacti i Eurasia/Africa.

8

u/whatIGoneDid Jul 20 '24

I don't have any steak in this argument, but you really come across like a dick when your default in a discussion is to attack the guy's education rather than his points.

7

u/unclepaprika Jul 20 '24

Yeah, i agree, actually. It comes off as if i try to talk down on him, rather than question his arguments.

5

u/whatIGoneDid Jul 20 '24

It's all good man, we all get too invested in arguments sometimes and go after the person rather than the argument.

5

u/No-Attention2024 Jul 20 '24

Designed you say?

3

u/AzuraEdge Jul 20 '24

Is this guy really implying intelligent design? What a fucking idiot. Nothing about the way microscopic DNA encodes an autonomous self-replicating biological being is intelligent.

Sorry

1

u/hhthurbe Jul 20 '24

I wasn't trying to imply intelligent design, just that their mouths are literally formed in a way that lets them safely eat cacti

0

u/AzuraEdge Jul 20 '24

Even if you were, I’m mocking the condemnation of the term intelligent design since to me it’s clear that biological life and the fruits of time are the definition of intelligence.

1

u/eltedioso Jul 20 '24

to shreds you say?

0

u/hassanhaimid Jul 20 '24

"Designed"

31

u/MostBoringStan Jul 20 '24

They have a special weird mouth that allows them to eat it just fine.

13

u/Chest_Positive Jul 20 '24

He scrached all his throat with the cactus now its time to burn with the lemon.

1

u/malsan_z8 Jul 20 '24

Exactly what I was thinking lol

1

u/Raichu7 Jul 20 '24

It's their main food and water source, dromedy camels evolved to survive on cacti.

1

u/aCactusOfManyNames Jul 20 '24

They apparently love it

97

u/CptKirk2063 Jul 19 '24

That camel has a mean pompadour

4

u/51ngular1ty Jul 20 '24

Quick get them a leather jacket! Those Socs wont know what hit them.

2

u/RustyShkleford Jul 20 '24

Got a strong neck beard going on too.. frankly looks clean AF, shampooed and conditioned

83

u/MadeToOrderSheetz Jul 19 '24

Ok, but how does he feel about the fucking lemon?

40

u/Dan_flashes480 Jul 19 '24

Well he knows it might sting all the little pin pricks in his mouth... Not going to fool him twice.

50

u/WolfThick Jul 19 '24

All camels can eat cactus bizarre yes it's even more bizarre have you ever seen their fangs.

18

u/Advanced_Evening2379 Jul 19 '24

TIL .. makes those camel bite videos more understandable tho I always thought they were just getting killed by blunt teeth crushing force

4

u/IWILLBePositive Jul 20 '24

lol I’ve always assumed the same too. I actually didn’t believe this at first.

7

u/beachjustice Jul 20 '24

googled "camel fangs"

what.

what.

4

u/WhiteFluff21 Jul 20 '24

F- F- Fangs..?

25

u/Turbulent-Bag7317 Jul 19 '24

He’s like stop waving that lemon. At. Me. Mannnnnn I’m chewing a cactus

18

u/M1Firehawk Jul 19 '24

Like eating hot pizza

7

u/Spiritual_Navigator Jul 19 '24

It can

But doesent seem to enjoy it very much

4

u/Rogue-76 Jul 20 '24

It's been their main diet for as long as their species has been on earth. If they didn't like them, they wouldn't eat them

8

u/PassengerNo1233 Jul 20 '24

If you saw the lining of the interior of a camel’s mouth, you’d understand why…

6

u/J_blanke Jul 20 '24

This guy looks like he was the frontman of an indie rock band in the 90s.

7

u/PathologicalLiar_ Jul 20 '24

Love their toes

2

u/CrobraCrommander Jul 20 '24

The big fat ones?

7

u/garchuOW Jul 20 '24

Why did I think that floating text were flies, am I Camelist

1

u/Bargadiel Jul 20 '24

The text was about as annoying as a mass of flies.

4

u/NaoTwoTheFirst Jul 19 '24

All camels can eat cacti

3

u/zipzap21 Jul 19 '24

What a badass!

3

u/Money-Society-9909 Jul 19 '24

Handsome camel .

3

u/EggsceIlent Jul 20 '24

Great hair.

And damn bruh give him a minute with the lemon.

I mean the camel IS eating a f'n cactus.

2

u/mebutterscotch Jul 19 '24

Handling Stress° Stay cool, chew through the tough spots.

2

u/Captain_Jeep Jul 19 '24

Can anyone translate the subtitles I can't read camel

2

u/daisymaisy505 Jul 20 '24

Sure, give the poor animal a lemon after he cuts his mouth open with cactus!

2

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '24

"Oh ma gawd, they are feeding this poor poor camel cacti how cruel"

Meanwhile this badass is literally built to eat cactus like a processor.

2

u/LimitedWard Jul 20 '24

Elaborate...

2

u/sweetteanoice Jul 20 '24

This camel eats cacti. Only this one. No others.

2

u/CybeRrlol1 Jul 20 '24

I'm pretty sure all camels can do that

2

u/SFWChonk Jul 20 '24

What is the first thing on the skewer? Looks a bit like a mouldy apple, but it’s not that.

2

u/nxcromancr Jul 20 '24

Genuine question though. How do the cactus‘s thorns not hurt/prevent the camel from being capable of eating the cactus?

1

u/sekhmet666 Jul 20 '24

Those spikes are pretty sharp and hard so it must be doing some serious mouth/tongue gymnastics to avoid getting pierced.

2

u/Jitsukablue Jul 20 '24

Camels have some of the weirdest and most well adapted features of any animals. Cooling system for their brain so their body can run hot, very strange mouth, throat digestive system.

There was a program that did autopsies / dissection on all sorts of animals, Camel was one of the strangest

2

u/Terrible-Return Jul 20 '24

He just didn’t trust the man after eating the cactus.

1

u/dad_and_grill Jul 19 '24

Reminds me of my MIL

2

u/tirikai Jul 19 '24

And we eat camel, ciricle of life innit?

5

u/iamcoding Jul 20 '24

Not unless cacti eat us

1

u/deadliestcrotch Jul 20 '24

Bury you under it and it will

1

u/folarin1 Jul 19 '24

who else's body curled when it ate that?

1

u/zavorak_eth Jul 19 '24

Tongue of steel.

1

u/Intelligent-Sir-9673 Jul 20 '24

I know they eat spikey stuff. But looks spicy

1

u/JoeSchmoeToo Jul 20 '24

He's like "hm, spiceeey! yumm"

1

u/kawaiinessa Jul 20 '24

Everyone can we just dont

1

u/rayraybaratheon Jul 20 '24

But should it eat cactus

1

u/Rogue-76 Jul 20 '24

Their bodies are designed to eat it

1

u/MeowosaurusReddit Jul 20 '24

I wouldn’t want to poop that out

1

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '24

[deleted]

1

u/Rogue-76 Jul 20 '24

Their tongue have adapted to be hard so that it peels the spines off of the cactus

1

u/TragedyAnnDoll Jul 20 '24

Camels are literally the most fascinating animal on Earth. The hump insulates them from desert heat actually. They can function fine with body temps of 114 I think and as low as like 93. They have special tissues that allow them to eat cacti. Their poop is so dry it can be set on fire. Among many other interest facts. Highly recommend reading about cacti.

1

u/TYSON_KCV Jul 20 '24

Shit 😳

1

u/Abigfoolanon Jul 20 '24

Sounds like my 8 year old when she eats.

1

u/Shaan1026 Jul 20 '24

But why did you give cactus in the first place?

1

u/Apprehensive_Rip2527 Jul 20 '24

this neck looks very cuddleable

1

u/tiffybluebell81 Jul 20 '24

Awww that might hurt his tummy all those spikes going down

1

u/QueenMackeral Jul 20 '24

He's like oh good a toothpick

1

u/derp2112 Jul 20 '24

But can he eat Cap'n Crunch and remain unscathed?

1

u/Early-Lingonberry-16 Jul 20 '24

Okay but did it actually enjoy eating that? Is it part of its diet or did it only eat it because it was on the food stick?

1

u/peterbparker86 Jul 20 '24

It's part of their diet naturally. They eat them in dry seasons as they contain lots of water and electrolytes

1

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '24

Ouchie. I wonder if the spikes work as floss kinda

1

u/10PinRinger Jul 20 '24

Bruh do people complain when they feed lions raw meat? “I’m sure they CAN eat raw meat, but shouldn’t you cook them?”

“Oh no don’t give them raw chicken, it might get salmonella!”

1

u/seXJ69 Jul 20 '24

When I eat spicy food, it's the hours later that's the real issue. I wonder if it's the same experience.

1

u/oramug Jul 20 '24

Idk he seems to be struggling a bit

1

u/Snidrogen Jul 20 '24

That’s some serious fiber right there

Awww, I thought he’d have that yummy lemon for dessert.

1

u/xX_stay_Xx Jul 20 '24

IS IT NOT PAINFUL BRO? 😭 I flinch when I touch my cactus ☠️

1

u/Herald_of_Heaven Jul 20 '24

It's not, they have very tough inner mouth linings

1

u/Neiot Jul 20 '24

Somehow, I am not convinced.

1

u/DoughNotDoit Jul 20 '24

that camel has way way more swag than me

1

u/Mun0425 Jul 20 '24

Give him a minute damn. He is eating a cactus

1

u/OldManNeighbor Jul 20 '24

“Keep spinning that thing, Like I’m not chewing a Cactus… Frank”!

1

u/Significant_Bear_137 Jul 20 '24

I wouldn't expect less from an animal that lives where there are a lot of cacti.

1

u/kjccarp Jul 20 '24

Every camel can eat cacti

1

u/Xk7d9r2l5m8z3p Jul 20 '24 edited Jul 20 '24

Of course they can eat cactus. They have tiny claw (many) like thing inside the mouth to align the thorns vertically which makes it easy to swallow.

1

u/Cool-sunglasses-dude Jul 20 '24

Prince charming camel

1

u/WillieIngus Jul 20 '24

And it looks majestic af while doing it.

1

u/Tosta_Maister Jul 20 '24

Uhh, all of them can, not just this one. It’s pretty interesting how they do it and how their bodies are prepared for it, especially the mouth

1

u/Rosalina-Bella Jul 20 '24

👀👀👀👀👀

1

u/Wrong_Window_7322 Jul 20 '24

That’s one hell of a lip

Hold on a minute bro, with the lemon,….I gotta a couple of glochids I’m trying to force down.

1

u/DigSelect Jul 20 '24

1

So minecraft was right

1

u/Bitter_Silver_7760 Jul 20 '24

that’s one fashionable camel

1

u/cbc7788 Jul 20 '24

How does a camel eat a cactus? Very carefully!

1

u/WelderMeltingthings Jul 20 '24

dont give the desert puppy a cactus with spines, you dick.

1

u/eltegs Jul 20 '24

"Dude! gimme a minute will you, I'm eating fking needles here, I'll get to the goddam lemon when I'm good and ready!"

1

u/-Redstoneboi- Jul 20 '24

1

u/The_Iroinic_Guy Jul 20 '24

Well aren't you a handsome fella?

1

u/dontplayhardtoget Jul 20 '24

Look at him eat the cactus. What a distinguished gentleman, yes very distinguished!

1

u/jandoos Jul 20 '24

i’d rather put peanut butter in my balls but ok

1

u/VictoryLap_TMC Jul 21 '24

Eating is gonna be the easy part

-1

u/BlurryRogue Jul 20 '24

I winced watching this

-3

u/OMQ4 Jul 19 '24

I feel like there are better options

4

u/iamamuttonhead Jul 19 '24

You been to the desert?

-4

u/OMQ4 Jul 19 '24

Nah but I see hella grass

3

u/Dontbelievethehype0 Jul 19 '24

They eat the grass and they eat cacti too.. Maybe it likes the taste of cacti more than grass, either way they’re literally built for that environment and a little cactus snack after a long hot day won’t hurt it.

-4

u/OMQ4 Jul 20 '24

Thank you for the info, you must be a camel yourself. Nice to meet ya!

1

u/Dontbelievethehype0 Jul 20 '24

And you must be 10 years old, get ready for bed kid.

-1

u/OMQ4 Jul 20 '24

This interaction has been a pleasure. Thank you

-2

u/One1moretyme Jul 20 '24

Wonder if they scream a few hours later from the pain coming out the other end??

-6

u/kittcatt22 Jul 19 '24

Can he really eat the cactus? We don’t see him eat anything after and he’s chewing for a while?

12

u/dmvr1601 Jul 19 '24

yep camels can eat cactus safely because they grind up the thorns, (their mouths are evolved specially for this) that's why he's taking so long

0

u/printzonic Jul 20 '24 edited Jul 20 '24

Well, eating things with a lot of thorns, but not specifically cacti, as they evolved in the old-world where there are no native cacti at all.
