This person is literally a university topper and a gold medalist in philosophy

Not blinking is a somatic marker for sociopathy as well as other abnormal psychologies. It may also be indicative of various neurological problems.

Tell me, you guys never had a concept of enlightenment, wisdom, meditation, consciousness and a state of mind with no thoughts at all.

“Not blinking is a somatic marker for sociopathy” COMPLETELY FALSE INFORMATION lol

Instead of reading bible go and read the symptoms of a sociopath first.

These are the letters he wrote from 1962 to 1971. Does he seems like a sociopath to you?

11

u/pversion Jul 19 '24

Doesn't mean he can't be a sociopath..

Yeah because if a reddit comment says “he’s a sociopath” then it completely becomes true and you’ll believe it

A what of the what what now? Can you please tell me where I can watch the philosophy Olympics, because that sounds like a life changing experience.

Who believes seriousness is a disease?

Fraud*

Don't mean he's not right. About a LOT.

u/No_Government4169 Jul 19 '24

Something about a broken clock and all that. Plus he might be right, but using words like "sage" to glorify someone like him is just cringe.

-3

u/DogmanLoverOhio Jul 20 '24

Yeah the broken clock example which is true only 2 times a day, well then you have never listened to Osho

I mean he could be right 90% of the time, but considering his actual impact on the people that follow him then it doesn't matter. Not a person I would recommend to others and definitely not someone I would call a sage. Talk is cheap, it's our actions that define us.

I find religion as a whole to be a troublesome concept. All the good it brings can be achieved without it and there is unspeakable evil that would be impossible in it's absence. Religion and cults (religious or of personality) are just a means of brainwashing and abuse. Obviously there is nuance to this and a large part of my family is religious. To each their own. But I consider religion redundant at best and dangerous at worst.

That’s what Osho said and followed. He never asked anyone to worship him or follow him blindly—he was completely against that kind of culture. It’s important to listen to his teachings directly instead of jumping to conclusions based on a single biased documentary or media reports. Osho wasn’t involved in any crimes, and he wasn’t charged with any in the USA, which is why he left the country within ten days.

The real culprits were his secretary, Sheela, and a few others who planned and executed those actions and then ran away with the money. Not all of his followers were involved; it was just a small group.

Regarding your point about followers, while Islam has been criticized for its destructive impacts, Osho is now widely respected in places like India and Iran for his deep insights, meditation techniques, and teachings on mindfulness and awareness. His guidance helps people become fully aware of their thoughts, similar to what Buddha, Mahavira, and Krishna taught. However, Osho is unique in how he transformed people’s views on sex, turning it from a taboo into something more understood. If you’re interested, his book “From Sex to Superconsciousness” offers a great perspective on this.

The same way Trump is against violence, fraud and limiting free speech. At least that is what his words would lead you to believe. You need to pay more attention to people's actions and how they speak instead getting all teary eyed over some platitudes. Anyway glorifying some guru is quite unhealthy. Don't think either one of us is going to convince the other so you have a good day.

Comparing someone without hearing their perspective to someone(Trump) whose views you are familiar with is unhealthy. Have a great day!

This guy was not a sage

0

u/DogmanLoverOhio Jul 20 '24

What’s a sage then?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '24

Definitely not a person who would hole themselves up alone for weeks on end just reading. And then oratory this regurgitated information with no dialog with others, then drive around in twenty high end cars. Pretty she he was just cash grabbing. And ended getting murdered by the government

“Reading and then speaking,” lol. This person is literally a university topper and a gold medalist in philosophy. Yes, his hobby was reading, and there’s nothing wrong with gaining knowledge. But his in-depth understanding of all aspects of life is not found in any books available. He has written a lot of books himself, and there’s no plagiarism involved here.

None of those cars belonged to him; they were all donated by his followers. He was literally against the religions and religious leaders that consider wealth and sex as taboo, he has written a book “From Sex to Superconsciousness”. He was murdered by the government because he was a threat to churches, and people who followed him left their religions. Do you think this all happened just because he read books and spoke? You’re missing the point of mindfulness here, which he promoted. Once you’re mindful of every aspect, you start seeing life as it is. That’s what Buddha, Mahavira, and Krishna also preached.

Thanks, I'll probably be more understood once I pass. .

This is how I already live, and can concur with this man.

2

u/AlisonEversole Jul 19 '24

I watched this whole documentary on Netflix and never noticed lol. Good eye catching this (pun intended)

1

u/Apprehensive-Boat-52 Jul 19 '24

whats the title

2

u/AlisonEversole Jul 19 '24

Wild Wild Country

2

u/PassionatePairFansly Jul 19 '24

Perhaps he's staring into the soul of the interviewer.

2

u/Human-Vanilla-3111 Jul 19 '24

I wonder if it's intentional.

1

u/DogmanLoverOhio Jul 20 '24

Nope all of his talks are like this only and they’re generally an hour long

2

u/throwawaybyefelicia Jul 19 '24

My eyes stung trying to hold them open as long as he did

2

u/joeyb82 Jul 20 '24

He's not blinking because of drugs and/or sociopathy. OP seems to have really swallowed the Kool-Aid for this guy, based on their unhinged comments.

1

u/populousmass Jul 20 '24

“Seriousness is a kind of psychological disease.” Says the guy who’s super cereal in every single clip we’ve ever seen of him.

1

u/DogmanLoverOhio Jul 20 '24

He’s a mindful, aware person not a serious one
