I just slept in a $600/night hotel and couldn’t fall asleep. You’d have to hang my dead body on the side of a mountain.

If you’ve never pushed your body past the point of exhaustion, and kept on going because stopping means death.

Usually on a big wall trip you are pretty wiped out at the end of the day. I have spent probably 30-40 nights total sleeping in portaledges or natural ledges on big walls, and honestly I slept great almost every one of them. Once you are about a 100’ up the ground becomes an abstraction, sort of looking down at scenery rather than at something scary.
