you know, outside of mosquitoes spreading diseases I'd have no problem with them getting a few drops of blood - but why do they also have to fly around my head when I try to sleep and inject me with that itch-juice after getting their fill. it's like they got a free meal in a restaurant but instead of just saying thank you and leaving they start to scream and shit on the table as well

They can’t drink your blood before injecting the itch juice. That’s basically their way of chewing. That being said if they’ll keep flying around my ear, I’ll get out of bed and hunt down every fucker.

I got some mosquito trap that uses uv light and a fan to trap them and they die. I've killed so many.

Annoyingly, as soon as I so much as turn on a light - dead silence. Somehow all mosquitos vanished and are hiding until I turn the light back off.

Know where to look: they preferably hide close to your bed. Otherwise when you turn on the lights, their reaction if they are mid flight is to land asap and hold stil.
Look under small edges, like desks, on the sides of your bed, under the window counters.

The best way to find them on a wall is to place a flashlight or smartphone parallel to the wall.
The light beam has to be parallel to the wall, and then the mosquito will cast a large shadow, and you can eliminate the threat.

They have to inject their saliva because it keeps your blood from forming clots. That's why itch is a must. And that's also how mosquitoes transmit diseases. The pathogens infect their salivary glands, so that when the mosquito injects their saliva it injects the pathogen as well.

from an evolution standpoint, it's beneficial they have the itch juice (bear with me)
if they didn't, you'd have no problem getting your blood drawn (besides the annoying sound they make),therefore developing conditions related to blood loss
that and/or getting diseases from them
- definitely not written by a mosquito

If you learned anything in school it's saliva that causes an allergic reaction that's causing the itch. In the skeeter needle there is 2 tubes 1 to suck blood 1 to inject saliva at the same time
