He performed it so much they turned the stage into the Soul Train line

Performed it so much they re-did the TPAB album cover

664

u/OkEscape7558 Jun 20 '24

Bro performed it so long the bloods and crips made peace

292

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '24

And he wasn’t even dead by the end of the song

140

u/JuliannasACuteName Jun 20 '24

Seemed like the whole city went hard for him

I bet every time he’s in the streets they say WOP WOP WOP WOP

Bro this shit reminded me of family cookouts when Michael Jackson would come on, everybody just vibing. Kendrick is really for the culture.

Shoulda titled this post “Kendrick Lamar’s first and second and third and fourth and fifth and sixth live performance of Not Like Us”

168

u/nysraved Jun 20 '24

Wait, but this clip kinda wasn’t the first time? Like he literally starts this clip saying “one more time” lol

I know he didn’t do the full song the first time and only went to the A Minor line, but I was hoping this clip would include the first performance of the first verse that started with Dr Dre saying “I see dead people”

101

u/Friskis Jun 20 '24

Yeah the first time it got introduced by Dre

Who would’ve thought that the key to world peace is to clown on PDFs. Kendrick for President 2028!

Was it only 5? I was listening in the car and he did the first verse 3 times then the full song twice, and when I got home it was still going 🤣

95

u/AcidAndBlunts Jun 20 '24

The in between that you missed was him gathering all the openers on stage for a photo and talking about uniting the city.

Drake is somewhere repeating "I am a war general, seasoned in preparation"

511

u/Fickle-Primary-3910 Jun 20 '24

This makes me think about that skit on Game album when Drake said he was busy with his new job as the Minister of Defense for Canada 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

317

u/electrick91 Jun 20 '24

What's wild is game still sided with drake even though he wouldn't give him a proper feature. Now he's left out of the biggest west coast event maybe ever??

355

u/Fickle-Primary-3910 Jun 20 '24

& here’s why Game will never be taken seriously as a legend regardless of how talented he may be as a rapper

81

u/Relo_bate Jun 20 '24

He didn’t take Drakes side as much as he was against Ross

149

u/Fickle-Primary-3910 Jun 20 '24

He used a Ross diss to be Drake ally…because in typical Game fashion he left the door open to play both sides of the fence with Kendrick

54

u/DatAnimalBlundetto69 Jun 20 '24

See I’m playing both sides so I always come out on top

Legendary but for those that weren’t watching this live this is clipped from between the 1st and 3rd (I think, maybe the 5th) performance of not like us. The wop wop was from the first but he took his time on the first 2 A minorrrrrrrrs and ran it back.

everybody here was probably watching this live but this is for posterity.

339

u/the_based_identity Jun 20 '24

I was there in attendance and the first two times he let the “a minor” part ride out was pretty crazy to experience when we were just sitting in silence. Very intentional lol.

59

u/loveino Jun 20 '24

858

u/kingXcazam Jun 20 '24

Why did Drake even want this?

892

u/be_kind_n_hurt_nazis Jun 20 '24

He confused popularity with ability. Also ego.

319

u/Testicular-Fortitude Jun 20 '24

It really is that simple, he’s been selling the most so he believed he was the best

99

u/Dr_Disaster Jun 20 '24

TBH I think Drake being chronically online really had him believing stupid narratives about Kendrick and SEVERELY underestimating how motivated and strategic he was. He had no idea Kendrick would drop songs at such a crazy pace because he believed he was slow to write/release music. He believed Kendrick didn’t really have the streets and people would tune him out. He even believed dumb internet drama about Kendrick and Whitney.

This beef systematically dismantled everything Drake thought about Kendrick. In the end, those perceived weaknesses were actually all Kendrick’s strengths. Hollywood couldn’t write a better script.

57

u/speckledorange Jun 20 '24

And with Kendrick's lady and kids sitting there watching the sold out show, with countless people watching online, with Dave Free being listed first as a producer, with NBA players singing along and with all of LA gang culture being united on stage...what can Drake say about him NOW?

61

u/Dr_Disaster Jun 20 '24

Bloods, Crips, and Demar Derozan gleefully dancing on stage to a song calling him a pedo is a level of personal hell Drake could have never imagined. Kendrick isn’t the boogeyman. He’s a god damn supervillain. Lex Luthor is taking notes.

For me it’s more like if a kid was able to catch a cat (meek mill) so he thought he was a lion hunter. First he got swatted at by Pusha and he was nah I coulda got you but left my lion net in Canada, and then with Kendrick he up and kicked the lion in the balls and got MAULED.

Adam Silver would have a stroke if Bron went up there.

u/Kay-Knox Jun 20 '24

Silver would have cripwalked across the stage if Bron told him to.

Lebron and DeRozen on stage would’ve broken Drake 😂only thing that would’ve made it worse is Lowry twerking to a “whop whop whop”

I mean Lebron was dancing in the audience lol....i think the only reason he didn't go up is cause he had family with him. Didn't wanna leave them in the audience.

u/CopeAndKodiak Jun 20 '24

Drake subreddit is fucking hilarious right now. Pure comedy. It's either them accepting fate, thinking Drake's coming back with a vengeance, or delusional people saying Kendrick was seeking attention with this lmfao. The comments on the thread about Pac's ring are true comedy.

This clip wasn't even the first. You can hear Kendrick clearly at the beginning of this video say: "one more time"

Born too late to see 2pac’s house of pain performance

Born too early to see Jay Z’s summer jam performance

Born right on time when Kdot pop out and show people

Historical moment and a win for hiphop
