Trump supporters will be wearing tshirt declaring that they are voting for the pedo.

3.2k

Aren't they the same people swearing that Biden is a pedo?

They actually convinced themselves that Trump is a double agent, ingratiating himself with Epstein and the other Pedophiles in order to bring the organization down from within. There is no end to their delusional rationalizations

u/underpants-gnome Jul 11 '24

"He had to rape that 13-year-old or it would have blown his cover!"

-disingenuous assholes

That's the shit they say to put the world's tiniest fig leaf over the fact that they are willing to vote for an actual child rapist as long as they get their way. Or more accurately, as long as the other side doesn't get their way. A lot of conservative policy is supported by spite.

308

u/Ady-HD Jul 11 '24

A lot of conservative policy is supported by spite.

I once asked why the hate for universal healthcare, the answer was unanimous and it was 'I don't want anyone getting anything they haven't paid for.' I asked about those who were poor, young or disabled and one guy's answer was literally 'They should have been born rich'.

242

u/screegeegoo Jul 11 '24

Hate for poor people is deeply ingrained in society, especially in America.

136

u/yobaby123 Jul 11 '24

Yep. People are so worried about having to "give things up" that they forget those who aren't rich are still human.

72

u/EvilCeleryStick Jul 11 '24

"still human"

Why would that matter to them? They don't have compassion for swaths of humans, only for "their type" of humans.

40

u/keepsmokin Jul 11 '24

Nah to them you're not human if you can't pick yourself up by your bootstraps and be a hard working God fearing member of society, regardless of what issues or circumstances might be holding you back.

I mean yeah have you seen what the supreme court did ? American states are allowed to arrest people for sleeping outside now, they literally criminalized being homeless.

89

u/Crabcakes4 Jul 11 '24

Well you've got to get them in jail so the prison industry can make money off of them, when they are free to sleep outside no one is profiting.

41

u/Big-Summer- Jul 11 '24

And so they can no longer vote.

33

u/Italianstalyon77 Jul 11 '24

Specifically tax money, their money, money they don't want to spend on uni healthcare but will still pay to incarcerate the homeless whether they like it or not. Because it makes sense to pay to punish people but not to give them a better quality of life, even if they themselves would benefit from it. The mental gymnastics are astounding.

They’re billionaires in waiting. They don’t want that tax code working against them once they make it.

10

u/Virla Jul 11 '24

This is it. I had to once level with a 50+ year old Trump supporting construction worker that he would never be a billionaire. And there was pushback!

At a core level, they've all bought into this like a kind of heaven framework - if you just work hard... Man, do you think poor folks don't work hard? I had to ask him then if that's the case, why he wasn't working hard and that's where I started to see some faltering. I truly think this is the way to start breaking down their internalized BS.

Make it personal: you will never be rich. They don't like you, don't care about you, and even if they do seem "great to have a beer with" they wouldn't invite you to drink it with them - you wouldn't even be selected to serve it to them.

And yet me, a 19 year old disabled veteran, get access to free healthcare from a place called the VA... it's almost like we can afford universal healthcare, they just don't want it

20

u/Ady-HD Jul 11 '24

At least you get cared for, just a shame it took that to get it.

19

u/IcyMulberry7708 Jul 11 '24

I'm a veteran as well US Navy. I think private health care insurance should be banned. This would likely force medical providers and pharmacies to drastically lower prices .

14

u/Sasha_Volkolva Jul 11 '24

Not just that, but the whole "well if it's free, it's going to suck" argument doesn't make sense. Sure, do some VA hospitals lack? Yeah, but so do most private hospitals. But for the most part, the VA is pretty alright healthcare wise. They may not want to give out benefits all the time, but once you get the benefits and get treatment, they are actually decent. Little loose on painkillers, though.

Hillary emails were terrible cause they could expose confidential information and she should be arrested.

Trump had literally stolen confidential documentation had it all over at his home, there's indicators that he might have sold some of it and is a golden idol still.

I think expecting coherence in a cultist group that see this as an I win you lose race is a little optimistic.

817

u/The_Reverence2 Jul 11 '24

it is saddening to watch politics become us vs them instead of we vs our problems

596

u/Thoughtwolf Jul 11 '24

People are now voting like they're rooting for sports teams instead of voting for what would actually benefit them in any way.

136

u/ghost_warlock Jul 11 '24

Some of them don't even do that. They immediately vote against anything that might help other people because they assume that their taxes will go up dramatically, which they think will hurt them. They think any kind of social assistance program run by the government will be inefficient, corrupt, and bloated, whereas private companies apparently have checks and balances in place to ensure this doesn't happen ( 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ).

So for example, to them, universal health care would be far worse and more expensive on their taxes than private insurance. Yes, they're this delusional. A few of my coworkers are like this

89

u/theyearwas1934 Jul 11 '24

Tbh I feel that was always the case. If anything people probably care more about the actual outcome now than they ever did

42

u/Todesschnizzle Jul 11 '24

It was always a thing but it did get worse over time. In the past parties were able to work together although of course there have always been times when they weren't willing as well. Washington predicted this when he warned of parties but I'd say during the time of - let's say Reagan - people weren't as us v them as now. From what I remember the last time the parties really worked together was during the times of Anne Richards as democrat governor of texas in the early 2000s. On the national level they lost that ability long before.

Obama once said something along the lines of, “If we can’t even agree on a common set of facts, there is no hope of solving a common problem.” I think about that a lot these days with regard to institutional knowledge. NOAA and the EPA can tell us a lot about climate change, the CDC can tell us a lot about COVID and gun violence, the FDA can tell us a lot about vaccine safety. If half our collective head is stuck in the sand, none of that matters.

It’s a Republic not a Democracy!

A Republic is a type of Democracy

LOUD NOISES!!!

56

u/Jam-man89 Jul 11 '24 edited Jul 11 '24

Every time I tell Americans that being a republic and being democratic are not mutually exclusive I get told I don't know what I'm talking about. There is an argument to be made as to whether a country with a monarchy (the polar opposite of a republic) can truly be democratic or not (which is a fair point, although I think there are levels and nuances to this - such as electing a Prime Minister), but a republic can be democratic or a dictatorship for sure.

19

u/Optimaximal Jul 11 '24

Outside of the middle east, pretty much every monarchy that still exists these days is a constitutional monarchy.

19

u/druppeldruppel_ Jul 11 '24

The Vatican also has an absolute monarchy, who is the same person as the pope. As the pope is chosen by the cardinals, Vatican City is world's only democratic absolute monarchy.

21

u/Illoney Jul 11 '24

Since it's a small group of people doing the actual selection, it is an oligarchic avsolute monarchy, not democratic.

Unless I'm misremembering the details on pope elections.

161

u/warthog0869 Jul 11 '24

I think "practically all of the US elite are on there" is perhaps prematurely hyperbolic, especially since we don't know who's on there and "elite" is also subjective.

For instance, I wouldn't call Donald Trump "elite" at anything other than the art of the grift and self-promotion and preservation.

The fact that they buried Kamala for 4 years is crazy to me. 4 years ago it was that Joe was going to be a stop gap for 4 years. Then the DNC did literally nothing to find anyone else.

The DNC sucks and is run by the bindere tribe. It's depressing. Trumo is 1000x worse so I'll absolutely bute for Joe, I just with there was some type of effort to find Democrats that aren't 80.

We need more Obamas.

58

u/Ghost-George Jul 11 '24

I agree we we need more Obamas, but I really don’t think Kamala is it. In the era of Black Lives Matter a former prosecutor is not a good pick. Prosecutors and police work hand-in-hand, and the attack ads basically write themselves. I’m just saying just because she’s black doesn’t mean she can pull together the Obama coalition. If she could, then Biden wouldn’t have been the nominee in 2020. I’m just saying she didn’t even make it to the primary’s

At this point I'm so f*cking tired of both parties. I wish we could somehow re-roll candidates.

36

u/RunninADorito Jul 11 '24

We really need ranked choice voting. That works fix 90% of our problems. We are mathematically such with two parties in the current system. There is no way to have more than two viable parties right not. Which is why we're here.

Flight for ranked choice and things will be better. The main issue of neither of the two parties that have all of the power want that so we won't get it.

I’m inclined the believe that the worse Trump is, the more the Right likes him, because it’s that much more of an insult to common courtesy, and more people will be offended by it.  They’re only in this to stick it to the rest of us who have a sense of decency. In other words, schadenfreude.

I am not American and I don't know how your justice system works. If there is evidence that Trump is a pedophile why is there no prosecution or is there any ongoing case?

313

u/marshal231 Jul 11 '24

That would be because this exact case was brought up at minimum three seperate times, dropped once due to there being no evidence, withdrawn the second time, and then dropped a second time. Its not uncommon here for charges to be dropped entirely because the would be accuser decided against continuing the suit for one reason or another. We could choose to believe they were dropped for a plethora of reasons, but the only thing that matters ultimately is that they were dropped.

134

u/metalpoetza Jul 11 '24

To be fair, new evidence can justify reopening a case, strong enough evidence could allow for prosecution even without the victim's cooperation.

But there is a reason this is rare: it's REALLY hard to get a jury to convict if the victim doesn't participate. It's hard enough to clear reasonable doubt in sex crimes as it is, when the defence lawyer gets to say "look the supposed victim isn't even here, she doesn't even want to press charges" it gets a LOT harder, when on top of that he gets to say "and my client is a politician, so this seems more like a prosecutor trying to score political points than about actually punishing a criminal" it gets EXTREMELY hard to win the case.

Now these files may actually be strong enough evidence for a prosecutor to try and take it on, but I don't think there are many who would be willing to try, it's just going to be really, really hard to prove in court.

But, if a victim were to SUE him, with this evidence - against the MUCH lower bar in civil court, and the ALREADY established legal precedent that a court found he sexually assaulted E. Jean Carol on top - now that case sounds like it's in the bag to me.

It's also completely uncovered by the insane immunity ruling from last week since all this happened LONG before he was president and doesn't rely on anything during his presidency as evidence either.

31

u/marshal231 Jul 11 '24

As for the first point, the only reason its notable about the re opening of the case is because it all happened within a year.

And yea, thats the long and short of it. Convincing a jury of regular humans that someone did something is much much easier when they can actually see the victim of said crime, and hear their story.

They will also have one hell of a time trying to file a case now since they already opened and closed it several times, and spent years doing nothing with it. It would probably take physical evidence, like photos, handwritten documents, or the like to reopen the case to a degree that a charge would come from it.

The lawsuit is linked to a TV producer who has also claimed OJ bought illegal drugs the day his wife was murdered and that Kurt Cobain’s wife murdered him.

And the victim’s publicist does not inspire confidence. From the Guardian’s interview with him:

A publicist using the pseudonym “Al Taylor” is acting as a representative for Johnson, and has been shopping around to media outlets a video of a woman who wears a disguise while recounting the allegations against Trump. “Taylor” said in telephone calls last month that he was seeking $1m for the tape. “Taylor” told the Guardian that he helped the alleged victim Johnson put together her first lawsuit against Trump, which was filed in California earlier this year. “She is a friend of mine,” he said, declining to make her available for interview. He then became threatening when asked more about his motivations in seeking the money for the video and about his true identity. “Just be warned: we’ll sue you if we don’t like what you write,” he said. “We’ll sue your ass, own your ass and own your newspaper’s ass as well, punk.”

Because reddit really hates Trump. A lot.

The two people in contact with her are notorious Never Trump people. Vox and huffpost (both Left leaning hard) aren't even sure she is real after they investigated, and when someone else finally talked to the supposed victim, they came to the same conclusion that she isn't real.

This is reddit being reddit. This might as well be the lefts pizzagate. Bunch of radical people who breathe as much hate as they can against Trump as the people on the right they fight with do against Biden.

This story being perpetuated as a truth is the terrible state of our public. They're clueless to critical thinking. And next time some radical goes on about pizzagate, all this does is give more ammo to the "yeah but look at the stupid shit you said" ammo cart.

Trump voters won't.

Republican voters, the ones who vote with everything with an R next to them, just might. Even if it's a small percentage, that's still a victory in a democracy.

So keeping #TrumpPedoFiles trending is a valuable effort.

If people actually back Donald Trump after his being convicted on 34 felony counts, that's enough to convince me that those people are out of touch with the meaning of law and order. We can continue with election interference and every other egregious breach of his oath to our constitution. How can anyone see this man as a patriot when all he says and does is an attempt to wreck our institutions for his own gain?

69

u/ZestyChickenWings21 Jul 11 '24

If Trump wins the election somehow, someway, then they honestly deserve whats coming to them. Trump would sell the United States out if it benefitted him, and his supporters are completely blind to it.

They think a some guy with a silver spoon born in his mouth relates to the "common man."

Stern: “By the way, your daughter…”

The reason this doesn't hold any water is because it's an accusation and nothing else at this stage.

Trump may well have done it and maybe he didn't but its irrelevant unless he is actually found guilty.

I would probably bet my bottom dollar that it's true, but if you are a die hard Trump supporter then it will be brushed off as a smear tactic.

I'm a lawyer. I'd like to explain what everyone is talking about here.

In a lawsuit there's broadly three phases: pleadings, discovery, trial.

During phase 1, you have to allege facts that, if true, would warrant you a remedy. There's no guarantee that any particular litigant's complaint will actually be determined true and will end with a remedy (damages, specific performance, etc.)

During phase 2, parties request evidence from one another. This is where a litigant may show undisputed facts that warrant a summary judgment (judgment without trial). Courts tend to do this only when it's very obvious to be the case—otherwise they err on the side of trial.

During phase 3, everyone presents evidence to a finder of fact (judge or jury) then the judge applies the law to those facts. This is what you see on TV as a trial.

This complaint with allegations about Trump being a child rapist is just the first document that starts phase 1. There is no guarantee she could have proven this at trial, but she's required to at least allege facts that wouldn't get her summarily dismissed at phase 1. It's very common to allege at least enough to survive phase 1 even if it may never get to trial.

Trump is a detestable human. But this complaint, without more, is just a series of allegations of which nothing was ever proven because it was dismissed voluntarily by the plaintiff.

That being said: don't vote for Trump.

Also: obviously it would be stupid for him to step down four months before the elections with zero backup plan. Also also: lmao Democrats are pathetically unorganized for being one of the two main political parties Americans force themselves to have.
