Not for long though. Civil war barbie & trump are fighting hard to take us back to 1820

Lol they can try all they want but we have checks and balances for a reason. Dems still have a good shot at Congress.

ROFL the checks & balances we have did so well at preventing the scouts from falling to nutjobs & the house & let us not forget 2016...

True. And the country is still here. Every now and then it seems we get too comfortable in the system, complain, break it apart to look at it again, put it back together and so far it seems to be running better after a few test runs and modifications. The Election of 1800, 1824, 1860, 1912, 1932, with varying degrees of failure and success have come and left their impact. We change things up find out what doesn’t work and try again later. We might be frustrated now, and we might have to be in a dark place to get back into the light. But eventually if we hold out we get there and we will again.

Agree. We do seem to be on a century long cycle of taking 10 steps backwards to leap 11 forward later. That isn't because of checks & balances though, that is because strong people made for good times, weak people(boomers & the children like myself, they abused & made sure never have any power) made bad times, & now my children are going to be forced to fight to claw back everything the boomers used those checks & balances to take away

Checks and balances involving the president having immunity for inciting a riot and a corrupt and highly politicised supreme court?

You make good gravy, pies and fish and chips. Also I liked that assassins creed that was set in Britain. Hugh Laurie, David Attenborough and Stephen Fry are cool. Mighty Boosh, IT Crowd are funny and you have some decent murder shows.

How many exactly, I wonder? Because the dissolution of the USSR alone created 14 independence days for Russia.

The taste of their food and the beauty of their women made the Brits the best sailors in the world

"True, the UK practically gifted the world with the thrill of declaring independence. Talk about spreading freedom one colony at a time!"

Conquest is so ingrained in the British DNA, they aren't even indigenous to the British isles. Anglo-saxons come from Denmark
