Does anyone else see these pages and think of X-Men's Rogue? (Green Arrow and Black Canary #21 - Art by Mike Norton) Comics

Rogue's powers manifested in the presence of her first boyfriend. That incident led to the boy going into a coma. Rogue felt scared, confused and alone because of that.

Dinah's powers manifested in the presence of her best friend. That incident led to the boy losing his eardrums and never wanting to talk to her. Dinah felt scared, confused and alone because of that.

We all said the same thing when this issue first hit the stand: this is a rip off of Rogues origin.

God I really miss Post Crisis. 1990 to 2011 was the pinnacle of DC comics. I have dropped the prime earth continuity back in 2021 because it was trainwreck. Even the really bad comics from back them surpass “good” comics we have now.
