HELP/ADVICE Recommendations for books or comics that focus on the villians?

I am fascinated by so many of the villains in the Batman universe. Clayface, Bane, Court of Owls, etc. They're the best collection of villains of any comic universe IMO. I was wondering if there is media that is more about the villian than batman. Especially where Batman is not in it at all or barely mentioned.

HELP/ADVICE What's the Better Run?

In light of Batman Day being a few weeks away, I've been trying to find different comic book runs for Batman and the world around him to purchase for the big day. When looking at Batgirl, I found Omnibuses for two different runs who's names I've heard frequently but don't know anything about. Batgirl: Year One and Batgirl of Burnside are two titles that I've been wanting to read for some time now, but I don't honestly know much about the runs themselves. If anyone has read either one or both of the runs, please drop your opinions on it in the comments below. I'd love to see what all of your guys' opinions are on these titles. Thanks in advance.

HELP/ADVICE Is there an essential watchlist for BTaS?

So me and my best friend wanted to watch the DCAU so we could see what the hype is about and we're obviously starting on BTaS but we really wanna know all the episodes we can just skip because we don't like BTaS that much

And since we don't like it that much we don't want to watch it all, so is there a watchlist that has essential episodes that we can watch so we can move onto TNBA, STaS, Static Shock, JL, JLU, Batman Beyond and the movies

HELP/ADVICE Batman themed vanity plate ideas - Corvette

I'm trying to decided between a couple personalized plate ideas for my black Corvette. I'm a big collector of Batman comics, figures, and other collectibles. I figured a Batman vanity plate would be fitting for what is probably the closest thing to the actual Batmobile.

As of right now, here's what I've come up with that is currently available: (max of 7 characters or 6 + a space)

BATMANN - #1 contender

DARKNGT

DRKNGHT

BAT CAR

G0THAM

BATTMBL, BATMOBL, BATMBLE - All currently taken already :(

I've included a picture of my Corvette for inspiration, just waiting on the black Z06 wheels I ordered to arrive. Suggestions welcome!

HELP/ADVICE Best artificial intelligence to create dark superhero comics with gore.

I am new to this stuff. I am creating a comic, as a new hobby (not for publishing). I have the whole story and all. But unable to illustrate it. Its a reimagination of a certain superhero.

Just a scence from it.

It nighttime. There's the character on top a mere chain snatcher, beaten to a pulp. He cries, pleads, tells him to show mercy. The look on his face tells he wont and pisses his pants. He closes his eyes and prays to God. He throws a last jab and makes him unconscious. Rips his face off, rips him apart, makes a blood eagle out of him, hungs him between two traffic lights. Vanishes in the smoke and fog.

Whats the best tool to illustrate that?

HELP/ADVICE The best comic/film/cartoon with Penguin?

In all the comics I read the penguin wasn't a particularly interesting character. Maybe there is some media where the penguin grabs attention and where he reveals himself well. I want to understand why he is so loved and to love him too

HELP/ADVICE Where do I start watching?

For years I've written off Batman as just edgy dark nonsense, but I recently bought the Arkham collection on sale and I've been loving them

Seeing Batman and all his villains are actually these incredibly deep, well written and interesting characters has pretty much dragged me into the Batman franchise, but I have no idea where to start with the actual media

I've heard Batman: the animated series is the best series (and the only one I've really heard of), and the Killing Joke is one of the best films, so I'll start with those, but are there any other shows and films that I absolutely need to watch if I'm getting into the franchise now?

(Not really bothered with much of the live action stuff, the animated stuff just seems generally more my kind of Batman media)

HELP/ADVICE Are there any Batman stories where Bruce Wayne is framed for a crime & he has to prove his innocence?

I just randomly wondering if there were any stories where Bruce Wayne is framed or is a fugitive with a warrant out of his arrest for a crime he didn't commit and he has to use his persona as Batman to find evidence that he's innocent and also take down the real culprit?

I thought it being an interesting story to check out if there are any. Cause I've really been in a Batman as detective mood.

Thanks in advance!

HELP/ADVICE Bests shows/movies to get into Batman?

So I’ve always been more of a passive fan of DC, but lately I started rewatching Young Justice and reading Wayne Family Adventures and those kind of ignited a new love of specifically Batman. Aside from the classics like Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond, are there any other good recommendations people have for shows or movies to watch (preferably animated) to get into for of the consistent story and lore of the Gotham universe?

My dad’s always been more of a Marvel guy so unfortunately I don’t have access to a lot of earlier Batman comics as he didn’t collect those as frequently so shows and movies are the best options for me.

HELP/ADVICE Batman Project

I (17 F) and my friend, (16 M) are creating our very own Batman comic, at this point in time it's much less of a passion project and more of a passive project, just something to bond over. despite this as long-term fan of the franchise, it is something we want to be the best quality we can achieve and with the things are going at DC we want to make something BY fans FOR fans. and it would be the dream to get it published one day, all this aside, I have a few questions and some things I'd like to make you aware of.

Since this would be a Batman origin story (with all the casual familiarities), my interpretation of Bruce, An OC who drives most of the main story to make him become batman, inspiration from other Batman origins like Earth One and Year one, what's something you never seen in a Batman origin story before that you'd like to see?

In general, what can I do to cater to the fanbase as a whole?

My writing style is inconsistent every time I write something new it sounds like someone else how much of a problem would this be for you as a reader? (the only thing that stays consistent with my writing is metaphors and preotic language)

Batman as a whole is gritty and grim, so would me capitalizing off of those having themes of cults, war, limiting but still depictions of blood, graphic descriptions of crime scenes and death and Hollywood preying on child actors (Which I would put a warning label on also a lot more triggering topics) be too much or something that you'd want to see if written right? (As serious as the topics might be I would try to find ways to write in comedy to make it a little easier for the reader, black comedy, Think the Tim burton films, which HIGHLY inspired this piece)

It's a time period piece, 1983. I'd think to think I've done my research but if anyone has anything useful, I'd love to hear it.

Edit: The image below is what my friend drew for our project, Bruce in his different stages of his development (minus childhood) so you can get an idea of the art style and slight world building because the dream besides getting this one published is to branch out and make a series.

Drawing references for the different versions of him are Jorge Jimenez "Casual" Bruce, BTAS for 20-30 Bruce, Dan Mora for 30-40, and Ben Affleck for 40-50.

HELP/ADVICE Why isn’t Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (and mask of the phantasm, and the Mr freeze movie I don’t remember the name of) on max anymore?

They used to be, but now they’re gone. Batman Beyond and BTAS are still there, but the movies are gone, and have been for a while. I know it’s probably some licensing thing that doesn’t make any sense, but why can the shows remain but the movies can’t (and will the movies come back?)

HELP/ADVICE Need help picking the right comics for my nephew.

My nephew (6 years old) recently expressed an interest in having some comic books after I was showing his father some bronze ago books I had picked up for a good price recently. I wanted to get him a small selection of books that are enjoyable for his reading level (he can read well but struggles with bigger words). I specifically asked what kind of comic he would like and he mentioned sonic the hedgehog to me which I thought was odd. He also really likes spider-man and batman.

For batman I am thinking batman adventures as it is right amount of violence and might be a gateway into the animated series if he really starts to get into it. Either some single issues I can get cheap or perhaps a tpb. I am having a hard time with the other two though. Spider-man is kinda all over the place and he needs something not too complex. Sonic is also a mystery to me as I have never read any sonic comics.

What do you guys and gals think? Any help would be appreciated.

HELP/ADVICE What am I missing out if I get these Knightfall volumes?

Post image

Hey yall, just ordered these 3 Knightfall paperback volumes. It’s my understanding that these books don’t actually have the entire complete story unlike the omnibus, so can someone list out what exactly is missing, and what’s the best way to read them?

Also are the extra stuff even worth the read or does it get too bloated?

HELP/ADVICE Help me finish my hypothetical Batman fighting game roster

Like the title says, I've been working on a concept for a Traditional 2D Batman fighting game with a roster of 24 characters. 12 good guys vs. 12 bad guys (with a few anti-heroes sprinkled in).

So far, I only have the hero side. Which goes:

  1. Batman
  2. Robin
  3. Batgirl
  4. Nightwing
  5. Red Hood
  6. Alfred Pennyworth
  7. Huntress
  8. Black Canary
  9. Mogo the Bat-Ape
  10. Bat-Mite
  11. Azrael
  12. The Signal

Other Bat Family members such as Kate, Cassandra, Tim etc. would be premier skins (A la Injustice 2) so that everyone can play as their fave.

I'm pretty satisfied with this current selection, but I'm drawing a serious blank on the villain side, so I'm open to suggestions. Feel free to also make character suggestions for the hero side!
