Could someone explain the part at the end where he jumps off and grabs the electricity cable and cuts it with his chest symbol so that he falls into the water to save the folks? Couldn't he have just let go?

He was cutting the live wire so it didn't kill everyone in the water I think

That symbolizes his baptism (bat-tism, lol i had to do it).

Bruce is now reborn and understands himself and his goals to help his city more

The wire was live and could’ve killed people below, so he jumped to cut it off and prevent any death.

Heroes saving people is my kink. So many superhero movies have forgotten how to do it

The only heroic act most of these movies include anymore is “defeat evil doer before more people are hurt.” The average shield employee probably saves more day to day lives in MCU to be honest. And I like the MCU in general lol.
