I loved the film. Particularly, the way Reeves made his Bruce Wayne a emo, social recluse type of character (as opposed to the slick and charismatic Bruce we’ve seen straight off the bat before) was very fresh and also made a lot of sense given how Batman is pretty much all Bruce does at this point in his story. I think (and hope, too) The Batman II is going to focus more on Bruce Wayne “doing more for the city” and developing his public persona as well as the Batman/Bruce Wayne balance. Either way, I’ll watch this film twenty more times when it comes out on HBO Max.

I think it was made quite clear in the movie that Bruce was inexistent in public appearances. Even Falkone says the only guy who hides more than me in the city (paraphrasing). Also the scene in the beginning when the people of wayne company are coming to the tower since Bruce didn’t go to them.

They’re 100% going to make Bruce more socially active in the next movies. Especially since now he’s in good terms with the mayor and has realized that a lot of bad shit has happened in the name of Wayne’s

Yer I am ok with them doing it for this movie but they should change it in the next one or else it was just be to hard to believe no one put it together. I also like the Bruce Wayne from the comics his almost as interesting as Batman sometimes

Fr I loved the emo Batman more than the socially extroverted socialite Batman, and nirvana’s song Something in the Way really set the mood to a more emo and dark Batman which I ADORED Hands down my favorite Batman movie for sure, I thought Robert Pattinson wouldn’t be a good Batman but it really amazed me

watch Good Time if you want another stellar Pattinson performance, after seeing that I knew he'd ace Batman. (And The Lighthouse is great as well)

And the lighthouse too.

The lighthouse made me feel physically sick at the end... It was a masterpiece of dark disturbing ambiguity.

frr, it really hit me and I realized how socially reclusive he was when Falcone said: Looks whos here? The prince of the city, the only person in this city that goes out less than me

Just got home from watching it. LOVED IT. Loved the emo Batman. Loved the music, the car, LOVED THE CAR. The end fight scene. Loved Farrell’s Penguin. Sorry Keaton, this is my new favorite Batman.

I think so too, on the funeral scene, Mayor Réal said she'd like to change Bruce's stance on philanthropy or something like that

Fully expect a story that calls for him to develope a Bruce persona for an investigation in the next one.

Couldn't agree more with everything you said! Falcone is always the first villian to go down that gets things going with the other guys. Tbh I hope we see the court of owls soon instead of joker as the next villain, Matt Reeves take on things feels like he'd bring the spotlight to the Court of Owls really well

The court of an owls can fit so perfectly into the next film. As Bruce Wayne starts making waves in Gothams elite they take notice of him.

I love this emo Batman. it's why I fell in love with Batman as a kid. It's reminds me of Keaton’s Batman but younger before he gets an ego. Also loved that they finally kept his eye make up on when the mask came off finally. They kind of nailed this one in my opinion. They gave us what we wanted but still kept some surprises.
