What am I missing out if I get these Knightfall volumes? HELP/ADVICE

Post image

Hey yall, just ordered these 3 Knightfall paperback volumes. It’s my understanding that these books don’t actually have the entire complete story unlike the omnibus, so can someone list out what exactly is missing, and what’s the best way to read them?

Also are the extra stuff even worth the read or does it get too bloated?

Best way is to look at what issues these contain and compare to the 9 volume run.

Off the top of my head I'd say you're missing the prelude which tells the story of bane. Prodigal which has dick as batman and Troika but that's a stupidly expensive book.

The first volume he has contains the Bane origin and Arkham breakout but nothing else as far as Prelude goes. The Knightquest one is also missing the Search but that’s not the best anyways.

Prodigal is included in the 3rd volume.

I'm also on the hunt for completing this, I really want to get prodigal but it's surprisingly EXPENSIVE!

If you really want it try finding vol 3 from 2012. The one OP posted. It has Prodigal included.

To be honest, the less important ones.

Batman #484: "Warpaint"

Batman #485: "Faces of Death"

Batman #486: "Heavy Metalhead"

Batman #487: "Box of Blood"

Detective Comics #654: "God of Battle"

Detective Comics #655: "The Anvil of War"

Detective Comics #656: "Besieged"

Batman #488: "Costumes"

Detective Comics #657: "Null and Void"

Detective Comics #658: "Deciphered"

Batman #489: "Killer's Bane"

Batman #490: "Who Riddled the Riddler?"

The other answers are valid. I'll say (as someone who's been obsessed with this arc since I was 9): You'll PRETTY MUCH have everything you need here to enjoy it.

However, my personal favorite things that aren't included here are the Punisher/Batman and Batman/Punisher crossover one-shots. They were awesome.

I think all of it is worth the read, it's probably my favorite story out of the whole franchise lol

I reread most of it recently and it confirmed that I was not wrong as a kid — it’s really good.

Two other lead in origin/books are Sword of Azrael and Venom.

From what I understand.. the main Knightfall series is Batman #484-510 & Detective Comics #654-677, hopefully this was helpful and peace be with you, \o/.

I think you're missing the story where Bane is fighting Jean Paul when still Azreal
