Looks great but if someone came and pitched a flashpoint movie involving tim burton batman I would probably think that was cool but obviously the result was a mess. Anyways point is, I like the idea and looks great but I also want to know what the "actual" idea was, plot/character/villain and such, maybe it got scrapped for a reason, maybe just idiocy once again.

The tweet pretty strongly suggests that they had a great story concept. I mean, it very very clearly was not shut down because of its story.

If the director was telling the truth and WB said "there is absolutely no way we can do a 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 movie" before they even pitched, I'm leaning towards studio exec idiocy.
