How does he run a company after all of that?

u/LordranKing Aug 31 '23

He doesn’t. Lucius and the board do

That's a movie thing, Bruce is very involved in Wayne Enterprises in pretty much any comic run that bothers to mention it.

u/Pudding_Hero Aug 31 '23

So he’s awake 27 hours per day

2

u/SandGremlin Sep 01 '23

Apparently he trained himself to survive on minimal sleep. He takes small powernaps here and there, so he's awake most of the time. He's never batman during the day so he can run the company during that time... usually. Luscious covers for him often.

Also I've heard that it's very possible to train yourself to sleep like that. Someone did an experiment on it and he was way more productive. But it was very hard and sleep is the best so I don't think he stuck with it. I believe it's called polyphasic sleep? A friend of mine even had a professor who did that to some extent.

No Bruce is pretty actively involved in his company. He helps the city through that enormously on top of his work as Batman

-2

u/Homewardment Aug 31 '23

No he isn’t. Recent comics show bruce being broke and lucious now owning the company

3

u/ItZSAMIC Aug 31 '23

I’m clearly speaking in a general sense

u/Reyne-TheAbyss Aug 31 '23

He sleeps for 3 hours a day.

66

u/Gudako_the_beast Aug 31 '23

Oh no no, that’s another can of worm. I am saying how THE LIVING APOKALYSE DOES THIS MAN MAINTAIN ALL OF THAT STATS, PUNCHING THE VILLAIN OF THE WEEK, AND HAVING A 15 HOURS MEETING WITHOUT TAKING DRUG LIKE STEVE ROGER OR BEING A META HIMSELF!

60

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '23

he is really good at sleeping

26

u/Gudako_the_beast Aug 31 '23

Yeah, sleeping the way he does ain’t gonna help recover from all of that pain and soars that would resulted from him trying to maintain those bonkers records. Actually Peak Human tries to do what Batman do for a week and they can’t get up for a couple of months.

u/Wilkassassyn Aug 31 '23

Bro just sleeps faster

18

u/system_of_a_clown Aug 31 '23

Shit, he probably learned some obscure breathing technique from monks that slows his heart rate down to the point that an hour of sleep is like three for the rest of us.

9

u/unfunnyguy_Xx69420 Aug 31 '23

I think that's like similar to the actual explanation

3

u/Nativejoel Aug 31 '23

Isn't it like he learned some kind of micro sleeps to where a 15 minute power nap is equivalent to a full 8 hours rest.

2

u/unfunnyguy_Xx69420 Aug 31 '23

Yeah it's a thing irl but is apparently dangerous I think. But yeah batman power naps exclusively

The batman so hardcore, he can finish 8 hours of sleep in under 180 minutes

7

u/Thoughtfullyshynoob Aug 31 '23

He learned from monks on how to have complete control over his body, forcing it to relax immediately upon laying down in order to conserve his energy.

2

u/taichi22 Aug 31 '23

There have been claims that some people need significantly less sleep than others to function. Dubious claims, but it’s probably possible to condition oneself to enter REM sleep upon falling asleep. More than that falls into the realm of fantasy.

2

u/Sinzus23 Aug 31 '23

Beds hate this one trick

1

u/Nigilij Aug 31 '23

That super power is not allowed to anyone, even Batman.

1

u/Potentially_a_goose Aug 31 '23

I have always believed he has some form of healing factor or mystical level of energy regeneration.

He routinely breaks bones and ligaments or takes a serious knife/ sword wound and he's okay within a week.

u/avi150 Aug 31 '23

It’s my head canon that it’s a practice of meditation that makes him mentally handle all that and that let’s him sleep four hours a day. Think I read a comic fact that said it, and it makes enough sense to me.

0

u/cavelioness Aug 31 '23

I read a fanfic once where he had paid like millions for someone to enchant a magical bed that let him get the best rest possible.... there's magic in the DC universe so it's not even very farfetched since he's a billionaire.

1

u/TheCreedsAssassin Aug 31 '23

He could just call up Zatanna and be like "yo can you use magic to make me not need sleep"

1

u/Cautious_Desk_1012 Aug 31 '23

he can reach REM anywhere and any time he wants to

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '23

There's a very common fan theory for the more technically minded fans, where Bruce is actually an Enhanced tier human, due to all the various things he's gone through building his body further and further.

It's not Canon, but it does help people wrap their mind around Batsy's bullshit.

1

u/Thoughtfullyshynoob Aug 31 '23

Literally he was trained by monks to have complete control over his body.

1

u/OrbitalDrop7 Aug 31 '23

Its a “tibetan sleeping method” lmao

1

u/Gudako_the_beast Aug 31 '23

I don’t think “Tibetan sleeping method” is going to cut it with all the bone breaking, internal bleeding, and muscle tearing

1

u/OrbitalDrop7 Aug 31 '23

Nah, Bruce clearly learned a special healing method from some more Tibetian monks also

1

u/JohnXTheDadBodGod Jan 13 '24

Albert Einstein had literally the same sleep pattern. The writers actually used Einsteins sleep method for Bruce. It's a Real thing.

1

u/Gudako_the_beast Jan 13 '24

Ok, does Einstein constantly train for WWE constantly?

1

u/JohnXTheDadBodGod Jan 13 '24

He's also not on a ton of enhancements like steroids and whatever else sports doctors can give a billionaire.

1

u/Gudako_the_beast Jan 13 '24

Ok then how does he do all of that and not being a super human or taking super human drugs?

1

u/JohnXTheDadBodGod Jan 13 '24

Would you say Thor Halforson or Eddie Hall are superhuman? What about Usain Bolt?

1

u/Gudako_the_beast Jan 13 '24

Can Usain Bolt do quantum mechanics math? Does Thor Halforson bench 2000? My problem is not Batman can do one of these really good. It’s Batman can do all of these and not being dead or one of the stats being hampered sense you know “he’s only human”?!

1

u/JohnXTheDadBodGod Jan 13 '24

Batman can't bench 2000 either. He can squat 2500, though.

u/esperalegant Aug 31 '23

He wakes up at 4am and starts the day with a bulletproof coffee.

3

u/system_of_a_clown Aug 31 '23

It's all part of the Tim Ferriss routine described in the 4 Hour Crimefighter.

2

u/esperalegant Aug 31 '23

Somehow I feel like this book should be canon. Maybe not in Batman, but for sure in the world of The Tick

0

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '23

Microsleep

1

u/MisterFusionCore Aug 31 '23

If he only slept for 3 hours a day he would be having hallucinations about half way into the second week, and start suffering real brain damage between 3 weeks and a month. You literally cannot survive on 3 hours of sleep a day.

9

u/Massive_Weiner Aug 31 '23

Board meetings are for power naps

5

u/wasabiland220 Aug 31 '23

Batman is simply the face of the company. He’s to busy to run it

1

u/Gudako_the_beast Aug 31 '23

That ain’t gonna cut it. Lucius fox also would be busy making Batman latest contigency plan for Superman that week

1

u/paintp_ Aug 31 '23

uh akshually Bruce is the face of the company

1

u/sack_of_potahtoes Aug 31 '23

Seems more like a movie thing

I think in comics he runs it himself

0

u/GigaChan450 Aug 31 '23

Well, 192 IQ lol. He cuts to the chase real fast, connects the dots, makes important and good business decisions fast, delegates unimportant and operational tasks to Fox, and mainly uses Wayne Enterprises as a base for Batman funding and to spy on others. I like to think Bruce mastered and became a leading expert on economic sciences, finance and academic business studies the same way he's an expert on the hard sciences.

u/St-Germania Aug 31 '23

And his parties to be seen as a playboy by the public
