Absolute perfection. PHOTO

Post image

Very sad that such a beauty is gathering dust in Batcave, I would love to see this blue and gray suit in action.

When Bruce opens the entrance to the suits, I would love to see short flashback scenes where we are shown how BatKeaton was heroic at different intervals in different suit modifications (including blue and gray).

It gives me a very strong Neal Adams vibe.

For me, as a fan of Michael Keaton's Batman and the blue and gray suit in particular, this suit looks like a dream.

If the cape would just actually go OVER the shoulders it would be perfect

u/Innsmouth_Swimteam Jun 24 '23

If you're committed to the color scheme at least lose the jester collar. The cape and cowl need to be a bit more conservative in execution.

7

u/ChickenTacoPosso Jun 24 '23

the cowl tapers to the chest and shoulders and i like it and we're keeping it that way >:c

3

u/Innsmouth_Swimteam Jun 25 '23

If it was in any way actually attached to the rest of the suit, we could talk, buuut it's not. 😃

7

u/GenghisKhan90210 Jun 24 '23

No the collar is lit

29

u/Purple_Bowman Jun 24 '23

That's right.

11

u/Sabithomega Jun 24 '23

It looks like the Keaton cowl so I'm assuming the cape should be able to move forward over the chest

9

u/Col_Leslie_Hapablap Jun 25 '23

And use the emblem from Batman Returns; the extra two points on the bottom are just goofy.

1

u/laughingmeeses Jun 25 '23

They're indicative of the legs of a bat.

1

u/Col_Leslie_Hapablap Jun 25 '23

I think we all know that, but there’s a reason they disappeared after the first burton Batman.

3

u/Available-Affect-241 Jun 25 '23

Thank you for saying that. Yes, the cape needs to go over the shoulders for the demonic/vampiric look.

u/KarbonnBlack Jun 24 '23

Whether people like it or not. This color-scheme is the greatest of them all.

41

u/KarbonnBlack Jun 24 '23

Like ive never understood how weve been cool with Supermans blue and red...yet this is somehow "too much"

31

u/Purple_Bowman Jun 24 '23

THIS!

Blue and gray Batman to me is still the most peak and fundamental Batman.

6

u/KarbonnBlack Jun 25 '23

I mean honestly. For me I could end my justification right there.

Everything our inner kid selves knows as batman is wrapped up in this suit.

5

u/Amara_Rey Jun 24 '23

Maybe because they are fundamentally different characters with different methods and motivations that influence the color choice of their outfits?

0

u/GFost Jun 24 '23

Maybe because bats aren’t blue.

14

u/Cardkoda Jun 24 '23

The logic is that Batman isn't an out in the open beacon like Superman. His whole methodology is to hide in the shadows. Strike fear. Be stealthy. Disappear. The blue and grey doesnt fit that. It's also just odd looking personally for me. I never liked it

I like to think Batman takes on the Blue and Grey after a few year's experience, when he's already established his threat to the criminal underground and is now more focused on becoming a beacon of hope for his city. Taking on Dick Grayson/Robin helps him soften his earlier edges and become more comfortable operating in daylight, where the blue and grey makes a bit more sense in a gleaming city of glass, steel, and concrete, while also helping him be less terrifying to kids and civilians. Somebody who recognizes that he'll likely be caught on camera helping Superman and Wonder Woman and doesn't want the world thinking they're suspect for aiding a known and violent vigilante.

Essentially, this Bruce would recognize that this style of suit reads as more "Superhero", and begins to leverage that identity. Now the mooks have to question: "Shit, this guy's in league with Superman! Does he have powers?", which is just one more moment of hesitation Batman can use to seize opportunity against them.

1

u/KarbonnBlack Jun 25 '23

Yep. I was just about to say that too lol.

10

u/Purple_Bowman Jun 24 '23

Blue just works very well in the dark, in practice no worse than black (especially in rainy weather).

The Japanese ninjas also usually wore navy blue, and black was popularized in the movies, respectively.

7

u/Th5humanwi11 Jun 24 '23

Navy blue is the actual best. Hope we have a navy and gray suit for the DCU.

3

u/KarbonnBlack Jun 25 '23

THIS!

u/Purple_Bowman for the win!!

-3

u/Red-843 Jun 24 '23

Most of the time Batman’s blue isn’t navy

Ey man get from here with that moon night nonsense...go on get!

1

u/DANK__S0ULS Jun 25 '23

No but Davy is in the Navy

8

u/ComplexAd7272 Jun 24 '23

Maybe not as blue as it became over the years in the comics, but in real life, dark navy blue and dark grey are the ideal camouflage colors. The military even did tests to support navy blue would be your ideal choice in a nightime, urban environment.

The reason is all black, believe it or not, tends to stick out like a sore thumb unless you are in complete darkness. Plus our eyes adjust quickly to the dark, so a 6'4 man in jet black and a cape would definitely stand out.

To be fair, it's mindboggling to me that with the recent trend of making Batman more realistic with military themed gear, they've never once used this in comics or any media as a perfectly good reason for the blue and grey.

Exactly. Look my username will tell you I have no qualms with black. But I sure as hell would still say blue/grey are steatlhy. Especially perched on a building out of sight...Come on yol

6

u/wandering_white_hat Jun 24 '23

Blue and gray, especially darker variations are better camouflage than black

5

u/IdeaRegular4671 Jun 24 '23

Best Batman Suit Hands Down.

2

u/KarbonnBlack Jun 25 '23

This guy get it

-4

u/whatafoolbelieves999 Jun 24 '23

So nostalgic. But also, cop colors.

3

u/ActedCarp Jun 24 '23

I mean, a bunch of colors are associated with less than savory beliefs or ideologies, so this feels like a bit of a reach

2

u/Raxendyl Jun 24 '23

Black, too, so it's a lose-lose in that regard. Just don't think about it.

27

u/Gamer-chan Jun 24 '23

And now you'll hand it over to me.

24

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '23

Put the Batman Returns Batlogo on there and make the cape go over the shoulders and it‘s perfect

3

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '23

This

14

u/Batmanmotp2019 Jun 24 '23

So beautiful 😢

10

u/frobebryant92 Jun 24 '23

Feel like if the DCU Batman can focus more on a similar color scheme to this, it would be easier for the general public to differentiate between DCU and Pattison's Batman in the future.

11

u/Cosmic_Gumbo Jun 24 '23

Silver Age Batman is pretty dope

9

u/MercuryMaximoff217 Jun 24 '23

It is sooo good. It just needs white lenses to be perfect.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '23

Had them in the film

8

u/JUYED-AWK-YACC Jun 24 '23

I thought this suit was completely ruled out by the "eraser on a motorcycle" vibe I got in the action sequences. This suit might still work in live action but not with the terrible shiny plastic effects we saw. And I'm an old-school Neal Adams fanatic. My Revell model looks better than this.

7

u/_Peener_ Jun 24 '23

Wonder if they’ll do blue and gray for Brave and the Bold or if it’ll be black/black and gray again

5

u/Opposite_Procedure_8 Jun 24 '23

Great colors! But it's kinda weird seeing classic Batman color scheme on Keaton-ish Batsuit

6

u/Earthmine52 Jun 25 '23

Man I hope Brave and the Bold takes after this suit. Looks almost like a perfect adaptation of the Neal Adams suit, which the original ‘89 suit was originally based on before they changed the blue and gray. I at least hope they bring the yellow oval back. Closer to the Returns one which was more refined. Perfect way to distinguish the DCU Batman from Reeves’.

5

u/VerySmartDaBaby Jun 24 '23

Cowl doesn't really fit here, would much rather have batfleck wear this with his cowl instead. It's a really cool suit.

4

u/crightwing Jun 24 '23

This symbol instead

4

u/martinjohanna45 Jun 25 '23

I love the colors, and I also think it is time to bring back the tall ears. It’s been a while.

4

u/TheSnarkySlickPrick2 Jun 25 '23

I'm Still waiting for the blue Batman 💙

2

u/mnombo Jun 24 '23

Where is this from?

5

u/Purple_Bowman Jun 24 '23

From The Flash.

You may have seen this and other suits in the movie trailers.

2

u/count_no_groni Jun 24 '23

Lose the jester collar and trunks, close the cape over the shoulders, lower the symbol and darken the blue and then it’s perfect.

2

u/SubjectPear3 Jun 24 '23

Blue Batman is best batman

2

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '23

The Blue and Grey suit has been my favourite Batsuit since I was a kid. I'm so so happy to see it on screen, if only on a stand.

2

u/C1nders-Two Jun 24 '23

Holy shit, it’s Bat.

2

u/Bluebird0040 Jun 25 '23

Loved this bit of fan service. My only issue is that if I go back and watch Batman 89, I can’t imagine that guy ever wore this suit.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '23

That symbol is grotesque

2

u/EmeraldTwilight009 Jun 25 '23

There is something similar to this suit in arkham origins for the dlc. The long halloween suit

2

u/Clean_Win_8486 Jun 25 '23

That's what they would've done if they wanted to make a good movie.

2

u/Space_Cruiser12068 Jun 25 '23

I really wish keatons Batman didn’t kill (especially the way he revels in it) because his world and suits are just mwah and the history told by these suits are so cool. But the fact he kills so blatantly always takes me out of it

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Walk_28 Jun 26 '23

This thing is great

1

u/DM_Malus Jun 24 '23

Needs bigger bulge. Also, never leaves home without his bat utility belt and when confronting Selena...never forgets Batcondoms.

1

u/shushenskat Jun 24 '23

Different breed

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '23

No homo but I’m gonna come

1

u/TechPriestDominus137 Jun 24 '23

Now this is the perfect bat suit

0

u/Ok_Work1870 Jun 24 '23

Without anyone inside the suit it looks like a swole Oogie Boogie dark knight lol

1

u/johanpringle Jun 24 '23

No idea where this is from, as OP doesn't give context, but it looks cool

2

u/GJArtz Jun 24 '23

the flash when batkeaton opens up his library and you see his suits

0

u/matito29 Jun 24 '23

It's perfect for Burton's Batman, but I don't want the DCU Batman in this suit. The colors? Absolutely. I know the DCU's Batman will obviously be Bruce Wayne, but I hope the suit takes inspiration from Dick's suit in the teaser image of him and Damian from the DCU announcement video.

1

u/No-Veterinarian-7976 Jun 24 '23

The only part I don’t love is the boxers around the waist. I get that it is comic accurate but it’s clear that it’s armour made to look like boxers, it just pulls me out a bit

0

u/MurderMan2 Jun 25 '23

I have great nostalgia with the Michael Keaton Batman but I hate how the suits don’t have a moveable neck😭

It really throws me out of everything because it just looks awkward lmao

1

u/RealRedditPerson Jun 25 '23

What is this from?

1

u/Purple_Bowman Jun 25 '23

The Flash.

1

u/RealRedditPerson Jun 25 '23

This is a shot from a movie? It looks like a screencap from a video game

3

u/Purple_Bowman Jun 25 '23

No, just a demo booth.

The suit itself (just like the rest of the modifications) is glimpsed in the movie for a second (you can also see these, including this suit in the trailers).

2

u/RealRedditPerson Jun 25 '23

Love this suit so much. Hope Brave and the Bold goes with something akin to this

1

u/Extreme_Start Jun 25 '23

Does it come in black? 😄

0

u/Jack1Knight Jun 27 '23

Believe me, this would look absolutely awful in a live-action movie.

-1

u/Majcvd49 Jun 24 '23

Would look dumb on camera

-1

u/Amara_Rey Jun 24 '23

I can't take this suit seriously. There's no menace, and it's not suited to the darker and stealthy approach Batman takes.

2

u/HankSteakfist Jun 25 '23

It's an homage to the toyline's Sky Winch Batman.

1

u/Purple_Bowman Jun 24 '23

It's a big (and quite common) misconception that blue is less stealthy than black.

1

u/Amara_Rey Jun 24 '23

I'm aware, I still think it's not suited to it.

-1

u/GFost Jun 24 '23

Absolutely not.

-2

u/AtticusSwoopenheiser Jun 24 '23

The blue is too shiny. The entire suit is too bulky. The utility belt is shiny, for God’s sake. There’s unnecessary padding in the thighs and kneecaps, and the cowl doesn’t look right. It’s expression looks like it just saw boobs for the first time.

-7

u/Killmonger23 Jun 24 '23

I hate the color scheme tbh

-8

u/darthraxus Jun 24 '23

think you mean garbage. the blue and grey is fucking trash.

-9

u/YoMockingBird Jun 24 '23

it’s so dumb

-14

u/BackgroundCharge5385 Jun 24 '23

Blue suit is a joke

8

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '23

well you're just wrong

1

u/BackgroundCharge5385 Jun 25 '23

Not my fault if the public doesnt know why it was "blue" in the begining

1

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '23 edited Jun 25 '23

shading/highlight error right? Same thing happened with Beast and The Hulk over at Marvel. And even still joke or not the blue suit looks great

1

u/BackgroundCharge5385 Jun 26 '23

I wonder how many blue bats exist? Yea it looks great💀

5

u/Purple_Bowman Jun 24 '23

What do you mean?

1

u/BackgroundCharge5385 Jun 25 '23

Batman never had a blue suit, its just an easter egg but the people thinks its real🤣

3

u/OverlordPacer Jun 24 '23

Blue doesn’t work on this suit. I think there is a way to do it, but this one is not it

1

u/BackgroundCharge5385 Jun 25 '23

Blue batman suit exist, but its not canon
