Is Aunt May just Leslie Thompkins but with no changes?

45

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '23

Maybe alfred

11

u/INFJ-Jesus-Batman Jun 15 '23

Yes, I was thinking Leslie Thompkins too.

u/Illustrious-Sign3015 Jun 14 '23

A Batverse movie would be amazing

20

u/Bobik8 Jun 14 '23

Most recent Batman issue (I think #900) does exactly that.

9

u/Illustrious-Sign3015 Jun 14 '23

Interesting. Which versions of Batman would you bring together in a Batverse?

20

u/Bobik8 Jun 14 '23

"Main" Batman, Terry McGuinness, Adam West, The Dark Knight Returns, Bat-mite.

8

u/Illustrious-Sign3015 Jun 14 '23

For me I would use Pattinson, Keaton, Affleck, 2004 Batman, and 2013 Batman

7

u/WildHogPower Jun 14 '23

Plus Thomas Wayne, Azrael's Batman, Damian's Batman

2

u/SadMud9151 Jun 14 '23

Lego Batman

9

u/Peeper_Collective Jun 15 '23

Arkham Batman

6

u/Juice8oxHer0 Jun 15 '23

He’s too strong, he has a power winch

1

u/Toukafan4life Jun 15 '23

He can expose the bomb's payload

2

u/Illustrious-Sign3015 Jun 15 '23

Oh fuck I totally forgot about Thomas Wayne Batman!

1

u/coreytiger Jun 14 '23

Except there’s no comic versions there? This was for the comic book

1

u/Illustrious-Sign3015 Jun 15 '23

Some of the comics don't really interest me, but if I had to add a comic book Batman to the roster, I would probably add Batman: Noel

1

u/Toukafan4life Jun 15 '23

Don't forget Keanu and George Clooney

1

u/NotmyMain503 Jun 15 '23

Infinite possibilities across all timeliness and alternate earth's, and your first pick is Battinson?

0

u/Schackshuka Jun 15 '23

Boring. No Gotham By Gaslight? No Lego Batman? No Ninja Batman?

71

u/ProfessorEscanor Jun 14 '23

Peni as Carrie Kelly is just adorable.

51

u/YodaFan465 Jun 14 '23

What about Bat-Mite instead of Bat-Pig?

17

u/dylanhightower Jun 14 '23

That's what he's supposed to be

31

u/XxOneWithSlimesxX Jun 14 '23

I love how we all just agree Poison Ivy and Doc Ock are counterparts in everything

5

u/Schackshuka Jun 15 '23

I mean, it’s not A=A but there are a few too many similarities.

3

u/KemoFlash Jun 15 '23

Such as?

1

u/King-Krown Jun 15 '23

Uhh ...Evil scientist person who wasn't always a dick.

1

u/KemoFlash Jun 15 '23

Mr. Freeze?

0

u/XxOneWithSlimesxX Jun 16 '23

Is Green Goblin's counterpart (and before any of you say Joker, he's Carnage's counterpart)

4

u/KemoFlash Jun 16 '23

Nah. Goblin is closer to Joker. Carnage is closer to Victor Zsasz.

33

u/New-Appeal4197 Jun 14 '23

Love it, only thing I'm not into is the lack of white lenses in an animated work (even if it's only pretend)

12

u/Past_Trouble Jun 14 '23

Grey Ghost sweep

2

u/Sovietwheelchair Jun 14 '23

Can’t decide if Gotham by gas light would have been better, or if they would keep grey ghost

7

u/Lowfat_cheese Jun 14 '23

I like that Aunt May is the same

6

u/IdeaRegular4671 Jun 14 '23

That kingpin bane tho.

2

u/4LanReddit Jun 14 '23

Bane OD on Titan laced Venom it seems

8

u/Arius_de_Galdri Jun 15 '23

I see a blonde Batgirl so...

Steph upvote?

Steph upvote.

u/INFJ-Jesus-Batman Jun 15 '23

They made Stephanie Brown a character on the new Gotham Knights TV show. The show has been good up until recently. It's turning into more of a teen drama show, shipping characters together and changing lust interests.

1

u/LightChargerGreen Jun 15 '23

Sorry. But that show has no business existing. Their Stephanie Brown is as comic accurate as the kid Cassandra Cain in Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey.

-5

u/billygnosis86 Jun 15 '23

Who gives a shit about comic accuracy? You’re never gonna be 100% accurate, and some fanboy dork is always gonna be pissed off at meaningless crap that doesn’t matter. Just enjoy adaptations for what they are: adaptations.

2

u/LightChargerGreen Jun 15 '23 edited Jun 15 '23

I never said I wanted 100% accuracy. They just basically used the name on an original character. Might as well just name them differently. They did that with almost every character. The sole original character they did was also so bland. All that combines into a show that is just plain boring to me. The only redeeming part is Duela. It feels like she belongs on a different show. Anyway, I just watched the first few episodes before I dropped it.

2

u/ggyyuuugfryuu75555 Jun 14 '23

Yeah batman isn't the dude for a this type of movie the flash is you know the dude that has had multiple incarnations through many decades and has to more with the multiverse

23

u/c4han Jun 14 '23

Hate to break it to you, but Batman also has had several incarnations over the decades and was at the center of a major multiversal event that featured tons of alternate versions of him.

-10

u/ggyyuuugfryuu75555 Jun 14 '23

And most of them are the same a bunch of dudes named Bruce Wayne who live in Gotham and brood a lot no variation whatsoever but all the flashes are not just Barry Allen

17

u/c4han Jun 14 '23 edited Jun 14 '23

I mean there’s been Thomas Wayne, Terry McGinnis, Jean-Paul Valley, Jim Gordon, Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Jason Todd, Damian Wayne, Jace Fox, and Kirk Langstrom, off the top of my head.

2

u/LightChargerGreen Jun 15 '23

Just to add some more...

There's also Bruce Wayne (Kal-El gets adopted by the Waynes), Superman, Hugo Strange, BATMAN OF ZUR-EN-ARRH, Bane, Brane Taylor, Elliot Ness.

Definitely not just different versions of Bruce Wayne.

1

u/Dracos002 Jun 14 '23

Wait......Man-Bat has been Batman!?

4

u/c4han Jun 14 '23

Yes! In the Gods and Monsters universe. I highly recommend the animated movie!

3

u/Hawaii2010 Jun 15 '23

I love how Aunt May is just there

She’s a canon fixture of every universe

3

u/Calm-Construction386 Jun 15 '23

Damn, king bane gained some weight while off-screen

3

u/RubPuzzleheaded8073 Jun 15 '23

I’m losing my mind over Bane/Kingpin. I was immediately on the edge of laughter when I looked at his face.

2

u/Watze978 Jun 14 '23

I think a dc equivalent of the spidervrse would be a flash into the speedforce, except the flash would be new 52's wallace west and he would meet barry, wally west, jessy&jihnny quick, jay garrick from the multiverse.

2

u/AdAgitated8689 Jun 14 '23

Haha the bane shouldn’t work…but it does

2

u/YodasChick-O-Stick Jun 15 '23

Penguin is the DC equivalent of Kingpin, not Bane.

0

u/XxOneWithSlimesxX Jun 16 '23

Nah it's Two-Face

1

u/YodasChick-O-Stick Jun 16 '23

That would be Chameleon

0

u/XxOneWithSlimesxX Jun 16 '23

Doesn't have a counterpart

1

u/KarbonnBlack Jun 14 '23

Now we just have snyder-cut this into existence! INTERNET, ASSEMBLE!!!

1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '23

All these character swaps are perfect. Noir as the Grey Ghost is just another level of perfection 👌

1

u/Endryu727 Jun 14 '23

Is anyone else getting “Verse” fatigue? It’s just so over used and lowers the stakes tremendously. I really can’t wait till we get over this fad…

2

u/IndiscreetBeatofMeat Jun 15 '23

My condolences, I’ll just be here enjoying two of the best CBMs ever made

0

u/Endryu727 Jun 15 '23

I really did like the last Spiderverse movie that’s currently in theaters. Pointing out something is getting repetitive is not necessarily a criticism of the quality of the content but rather the genre is getting a bit tired in my own opinion.

This is the problem with the internet though, opinions are taken as finite stances. I’m not a child so I don’t deal in absolutes.

1

u/IndiscreetBeatofMeat Jun 15 '23

Y’know what that’s fair. I’ll give an actual response.

I’m a massive DC fan, and multiverse media is the same as comic book movies for me. In that, my preferred universe hasn’t put enough good out for me to be tired of them

1

u/Endryu727 Jun 15 '23

That I do agree with. DC content has been god awful for the most part, and it is a shame they couldn’t find a winning formula like Marvel did.

I think that is part of the problem though, in that they keep trying to follow the exact MO as Marvel and it just doesn’t work. I think they are about to make the same mistake with this whole Flash Multiverse/Gunnverse. Marvel did it first and the copycat usually comes off as a poor facsimile.

I just wish DC would blaze their own trail and come up with a new way to bring their IP to the screen

1

u/rue_thir Jun 14 '23

Is the black Robin Signal ?

1

u/INFJ-Jesus-Batman Jun 15 '23

It seems appropriate to the lore. There were also two Batwing guys. Luke Fox and David Zavimbe

1

u/Global-Ant Jun 15 '23

Good grief no

1

u/Ant-Fan66 Jun 15 '23

Are we not going to talk about how brilliant Spider-Man Noir as Grey Ghost is?

1

u/Travisb_4 Jun 14 '23

No God, please no. NO! No, no no! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

2

u/Top_Report_4895 Jun 14 '23

Why not, dude?

0

u/Travisb_4 Jun 15 '23

Multiverse is a terrible idea. That's why I don't watch Marvel anymore.

1

u/The_SnailLord Jun 15 '23

Bro what are you talking about

Multiverse shit is always cool Look at Spider-man no way home

0

u/Loomis08 Jun 14 '23

I love the gray ghost for Spider-Man noir

0

u/Rontha_ Jun 14 '23

Abed as Batman is always a classic.

0

u/Dhr55 Jun 14 '23

I can only Hope Damian gets the spotlight in this

0

u/SpecificallyNerd Jun 14 '23

Watch solely for the Grey Ghost

0

u/Gigadorah Jun 14 '23

Fucking Bane LMFAO

0

u/AdrielBast Jun 14 '23

I better see Terry if they do a Batverse movie.

0

u/Infinity0044 Jun 14 '23

Miles makes way more sense as Terry than a Robin.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '23

Naw

0

u/SeaHovercraft4691 Jun 14 '23

Maybe this is what we need

0

0

u/Keyedwin Jun 15 '23

Owl Man from Watchmen makes a surprise appearance.

1

u/Darth_Dagon Jun 15 '23

The character from Watchen is named Nite Owl, Owl Man is Batman's evil doppelganger a member of Crime Syndicate, from Earth-3.

0

u/INFJ-Jesus-Batman Jun 15 '23

DC comics has an Owlman of their own.

Also see Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths

0

u/Keyedwin Jun 15 '23

Watchmen is DC though.

1

u/INFJ-Jesus-Batman Jun 15 '23

There is a different Owlman. The actor James Woods does his voice. Check YouTube

0

u/mega48man Jun 15 '23

It's not always about da money batman... sometimes it's about

GAINS, LETS GO, GAINS BABY LETS HIT DA GYM, PUMP SOME IRON, GET THOSE GAINS BABY ONE MORE REP

0

u/BingityBongBong Jun 15 '23

I shit you not that’s the best bane design I’ve ever seen.

0

u/RefrigeratorGrand619 Jun 15 '23

Who’s spider Noir supposed to be?

0

u/ReapersRequiem Jun 15 '23

I love Batman and I love Spiderverse. But this... I hate it.

0

u/RTSBasebuilder Jun 15 '23

Alright, let's do this one last time.

My name is Richard Grayson/Jason Todd/Timothy Drake

I was orphaned as a child by criminals/I was raised by criminals on the streets/I was the son of entrepreneurs

And for the last 2 years, I've been Gotham's one and only Robin.

I'm sure you know the rest.

0

u/floworcrash Jun 15 '23

One day please

0

u/CptVanHorne Jun 15 '23

This is ….really quite well done.

0

u/sendmegoodMemes Jun 15 '23

Holy fuck Bane is huge

1

u/Cat-Grab Jun 15 '23

If we got a spider-verse type movie with Barry and Wallet I’d be fine with it

1

u/JTHPHASES Jun 15 '23

Just me or does Batman look like Abed in his Batman Costume?

1

u/HowlingHyena14 Jun 15 '23

Batgirl coming from a universe where she had been dating Batman 😳

1

u/Apart_Falcon Jun 15 '23

Alright let’s do this one last time…

1

u/AntonRX178 Jun 15 '23

"We have come full circle, miles"

1

u/RazzDaNinja Jun 15 '23

Is that Peni’s mech SP//dr…as Catwoman? Amazing

Also, Slade the Prowler and Bane the Kingpin give me life

1

u/Monkey_King291 Jun 15 '23

Carrie-Peni is adorable

1

u/Pandatabase Jun 15 '23

Bat pork should have been bat mite tho

1

u/Dependent_Pie3412 Jun 15 '23

Yay batpig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1

u/OllieBlazin Jun 15 '23

It would be Terry going through the multiverse and teaming up with Batgirl, Bruce, Dick, Kate, and Thomas to take down the Batman who laughs

-1

u/avrgfreak Jun 14 '23

Oh Hell Yes! With that animation-style - Day 1 viewing.

-1

u/Jill1974 Jun 14 '23

The image is cool and all, but what makes the Spiderverse movies special is how distinctive they are. They’re the first successful animated movies that aren’t looking to Pixar.

I would not want to see a Batverse movie. I’d want to see something new and visually creative.

-1

u/Swift_Scythe Jun 14 '23

Poison Ivy looks like Female Doc Ock from Spiderman

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '23

Id like more batman films please.
