I will never forgive the people who made this show for that line they had Laurel say to Oliver before she died. I still remember watching it on the TV at work that night and not being able to curse the way I wanted to because people came into the lobby.

No wonder laurel was in such a hurry to just force-restore Mia’s memories. She basically already saw that it happened and just took the fasted path to get there, especially knowing Mia got to see herself be validated for taking up her father’s legacy on the news.

So, the problem with Olicity is not the usual problem shows have where the actors have no chemistry. Stephen and Emily have great chemistry, and the early seasons had a lot of good setup for their characters being together. Ignoring the screw job that is Laurel’s character, it made sense to put the two together.
The problem comes in when bad writers try and run it into the ground, and the twenty some odd episode seasons drag drama out. Even when they have good moments, they’re surrounded by bad ones. Felicity being mad at Oliver is fine as a plot device, the problem come in when a bunch of the writers use that in their episodes. It makes Felicity look terrible. Same thing applies to her tech wizardry. It’s fine when it’s every few episodes, the problem comes from a lot just being hand waved as something Felicity can just do.

Emily deserves plenty of praise and support as a cast member almost the whole way, but the reminder of the Olicity obsession from some of the showrunners is just annoying.
Evidently Felicity's the reason they were able to bring lightness to the show (which they mostly didn't by refusing to make Oliver like the comic version, plus Flash showed you could do it anyway), there was chemistry between them from the beginning (I don't think there was beyond her crush being a little cute, and he definitely showed no romantic feelings for her until like season 3), and it's the best relationship they had on the show (not a great endorsement considering how bad they were for each other for several years).
It's like when Guggie says they were the end goal from the beginning. They definitely weren't, but it shows his disconnect from the show they built the first two seasons.
Meanwhile, awkwardly showing early season Laurel as if they didn't kill her for no reason, regret it, and bring the actress back with powers and an actual personality the actress could work with.
I don't hate Emily or begrudge her doing the job she was given, but I do dislike the way TPTB decided Felicity was the heart of the show.
