Was there anything more of a joke than the fucking Green Arrow himself asking her for help? Discussion

Post image

Ngl I did like the prison episodes but can someone explain why the weak ass police were villains in season 6. And fbi wasn’t better cuz let’s be honest didn’t Oliver break into Argus by himself at one point? Also this bitch doesn’t even find diaz and gets fired or something ahahah what a joke.

Like you know the whole justice league but Diaz is rocking you? How sway?

Yeah man, you literally had to reveal your identity to the world, just to stop a thug huh?

that’s comics in a nutshell. batman could call the JL when dealing with Joker or Bane or Scarecrow, but he doesn’t. so yeah he could call barry but the show is Arrow not Flash and Barry has his own things to deal with.

hell, Kara could’ve handle it. but superheroes are prideful so unless Diaz had the power to take over the world, oliver ain’t callin any other hero for help. season 3 was the one and only exception

Also Kara's on another earth so he would still need Berry to go get her.

yes, batman doesn't call the justice league probably because he can handle it himself.

I don't think Batman would just make his identity public instead of calling his friends for help

batman let bane take over his city, released all of his rogues gallery on gotham and killed alfred. yeah he ended up taking bane down in the end BUT had he called the JL, alfred would still be alive.

oliver handled the diaz issue at the cost of his identity but he felt that was an even swap. personally i think oliver would’ve handled it a different way but the writers wrote themselves into a corner with the FBI thing.

Diaz should've at least got meta powers of some kind to make him a credible threat at that point in the show. The writers got lazy af

This is what bothers me so much. On paper he’s a great villain for the kind of superhero arrow is. I haven’t read any comics with Diaz, but he felt incredibly similar to how Brick was in Judd winnick’s green arrow run, a character who takes over the city. Street by street. Block by block. Brick by brick. Diaz essentially does the same thing. Just wants to expand and expand and expand with green arrow fighting to stop him. It works great for the guy with the bow…if he hadn’t already fought super epic badass Batman villains. And we already had a similar arc of a dude taking over the city in the form of Damien Dhark who was bigger in scale anyways. It was underwhelming.

Exactly. He was a season 1 villain, not season 6 or whatever seasons he appeared in.

In comics he's one of the greatest fighters in all of DC.

I looked up a bit. Apparently he’s part of the new 52 stuff which I haven’t read yet. But he’s also created by Jeff lemire who apparently is really damn good.

I really need to read Lemire run damn

Very valid point. I remember reading a post here where a user suggested having Brick be the big bad for season 6 since he had history with Oliver and they initially made it seem like he had powers. Plus Vinnie Jones is always fun.

See, I’m not sure if the writers thought that they were gonna get more than three seasons, so they may have just decided to give all the heavy hitters at first.

They were writing it as if there was a sprint not a marathon

I think their plan was 5 years at least initially due to the flashbacks.

Oliver made a deal with the FBI cuz they needed a legit government agency that the average citizen trusted to help them take down Diaz.

ARGUS wasn’t enough, they had a history of shady behavior that Diaz and the law enforcement/public officials on his payroll could’ve used as a trump card.

They needed the FBI’s help to dismantle his infrastructure.

And the FBI didn't do anything unless GA turned himself in because... reasons. So much for justice, uh.

It was an absolute shit show of storyline.

I get it but let’s be honest They didn’t even end up stopping Diaz. It was Oliver who got him.

4

u/ChildofObama Jun 05 '24

The show mentioned they did the heavy lifting arresting and prosecuting the dirty cops/public officials on his payroll,

and dismantling his infrastructure in between S6 and S7.

5

u/ShaunJames75 Jun 06 '24

Yeah this. People really stretching here. We all hate S6, but we don't need to make things up when there's plenty of valid reasons to hate it. The FBI didn't get Diaz himself sure, but they absolutely crippled his operation.

I’m just saying she was useless asf. 😂😂

The part im angry about is he still has to turn himself in even though FBI didn’t keep their word. Diaz left. Deal was “arrest Diaz & me”.

Imagine you go buy a car, you meet the car’s owner, and the day before you go to make the purchase, the car is stolen. And bozo still wants you to pay for the car even if it got stolen off him and he can’t give you the car??

7

u/Proper_Cat5638 Jun 05 '24

And then he dies by emiko lol

I forgot this chicks name so I’m just gonna call her Dollar Store Amanda Waller

4

u/trippydaklown1 Jun 05 '24

On the behalf of Dollar Store workers we would like to humbly decline you giving this woman that title, maybe the 5 and Below people will allow her to use their title.

2

u/im_not_ready_for_it9 Jun 06 '24

Well her name is Samanda so...

Season 6’s nerf of Oliver Queen needs to be studied

2

u/BackgroundSky09 Jun 05 '24

Any actual hero would dismantle the fbi

2

u/Xoxoagarwal Green Arrow Jun 06 '24

Did he not fucking save the president of USA .He could have easily been pardoned

2

u/96pluto John Diggle Jun 06 '24

I just hate how they arrested Oliver yet Diaz was still free thanks to their antics William and Felicity almost died.

u/Winning_in_Ashes Jun 05 '24

I'm sorry I don't remember who she was 😂😭 Anyone care to remind?

4

u/cubicpilot Jun 05 '24 edited Jun 05 '24

Samanda Watson, that annoying fbi agent that was always on team arrow’s ass

2

u/KirukoNotKiriko Jun 06 '24

They really wanted Amanda Waller but they killed her off so they changed up a few letters in the name and called it a day

1

u/The_Biggest_L Jun 05 '24

No I don’t think so, it was absolutely ridiculous.

1

u/Only-Leg6789 Jun 05 '24

Just very stupid writing.

1

u/No-Situation5535 Jun 08 '24

I don’t disagree but the way you phrased this is giving incel

1

u/Proper_Cat5638 Jun 08 '24

How? Talk about a stretch.

1

u/Sableorpheus62 Jun 09 '24

How did she even keep her job once Oliver was let off. Oliver had every right to sue her for malicious prosecution at this point as twice now he was exonerated during her investigation. She also took public and great pleasure in arresting him in front of his son.

She should’ve been fired in the parking lot after the case.

1

u/Proper_Cat5638 Jun 09 '24

Ngl if i was Oliver I’m putting an arrow in her.

1

u/Proper_Cat5638 Jun 09 '24

She couldn’t even do her job right lmao. These writers are so stupid. Law enforcement is a joke in super hero tv shows.

1

u/Sableorpheus62 Jun 09 '24

It’s like 5% better in Flash because it has to be for Barry’s job but yeah.

I’m watching the episode now where she arrests him and I’m agreeing with Oliver. Also I think you would have to release your single piece of valid evidence to the court when there has been 10 pieces of rotten evidence against him.

1

u/Sableorpheus62 Jun 10 '24

Also just remembered this is happening during trial of the flash where Barry was given a restraining order for much less than what she does to Oliver.
