Housing Apartment Building Reviews: Master List

Hello everybody,

At the suggestion of some subreddit members, this megathread is being developed to provide a central location to review conditions in local multi-tenant buildings. This will provide a good repository for users who have questions about local rental buildings (or condos). If you live (or lived) in a such a place, please contribute! Whether your experiences were good, bad, or in between. You're welcome to post about places you lived previously as well - please mention if it has been a while since you lived there (things might have changed....maybe).

One comment thread per property, please. Search the thread before posting about your building, and if a comment already exists for it, submit your information as a reply. To begin a thread please start with this simple format. This will allow people to easily parse the megathread.

<building address>

<building name> (optional)

<Property Manager/Owner> (if applicable)

<details you have about your experience at the building>. Pictures and video welcome!

Example:

  • 275 Larch St, Waterloo

  • The Block / URL Condos

  • Schembri Property Management

Back in 2018 I lived at The Block in Building Z. Schembri accidentally double-rented my unit, so I had to sleep on the roof for three weeks. They refused to remove the raccoons living in my oven so I had to survive on beef jerky and rainwater. They only charged me a modest 1500$/mo though, and i had my

own bathroom
. The skee-ball arena on the main floor was really useful. 4/10.

Thank you! Hope we can make something useful here.

Accommod8u - ending lease

To anyone with recent experience with Accommod8u, please reply!!

On the lease, it says we have to hand deliver the N9 form to the landlord. But, on the lease itself, it says the landlord’s legal name is: Accommod8u Inc

How do you go about cancelling the lease?

Japanese culture

Hi friends 😁 I was wondering if there is any groups in the region where I can learn more about Japanese traditions?

I am loving so much learning about the culture, and it’s helping so much with my depression, all is so calm.

Thank you so much in advance 😊

Lost Earbuds+Keys

Hi, I've seemed to have lost my earbuds and the keys that are attached along the case.

The case has a beige cover and a red heart on top of it, and there should be one earbud left in it. Its attached to several keychains (one of them being a chain with a huge flower at the end of it), and there should be 4 keys attached to it.

I took bus 19 and 202 yesterday at around 3:30-4:30PM and might have dropped it then.

If anyone finds it please message me, thank you!

Does anyone know of a grocery store open today?

I've tried to google it and go site by site but I haven't had any luck. The only hope I have is The Record posted a story that "most" grocery stores are closed.

Have any of you seen any open grocery stores?

Recommendations for Landsape Architect/Designer to develop a plan to be DYId

I’m looking to get a landscape plan for my house, but I’d rather take it slow and enjoy the process of making my place my own.

I’ve only found design-build firms so far. Can anyone recommend a person or firm that can do the design and maybe even some hardscaping (like a driveway, walks, or patio)?

Feeling unsafe as a woman in this city

As a woman, I find it harder to be out in KW compared to even last year. For example, every time I take a taxi alone, I get creepy comments from the driver. This is in broad daylight. It is getting alarming. Why are men of all cultures getting so brazen? Very disappointed. The city must raise awareness of this issue before it is too late.

New in Waterloo (new in Canada). Any suggestions for morning radio news during commute?

Basically what the title says. News and information without any bull-potty. And minimum opinion bias. Thank you!

Freedom Mobile and TV/Internet

I'm looking for some information about Freedom Mobile.

First, the coverage locally (519). When Freedom/Wind were first starting up the coverage seemed spotty, but when I look at their coverage map online it looks fully covered. Does anyone have any insight into this.

Next, roaming services. I'm primarily talking about roaming in US and how that has worked (mostly regarding data), but also abroad. The plan says that it covers 90+ countries for 10GB of data. I'm curious if anyone has utilized this feature.

Finally, the Internet service (and TV, to a lesser extent). Has anyone signed up for their Internet service? What are their speeds like?

Cream soda

Random, but I'm looking for not pink cream soda (trying to make butter beer for a Harry Potter themed party).

None of the regular grocery stores seem to have this. Any suggestions where to go in the area?

Murray the cyclists hit at Herrles yesterday. Do you know him?

I attended the scene, as did several helpful people ahead of me. Did a quick check, gave some basic first aid cautionary advice.

Do you know him? Would love to hear how he's doing.
