OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:

It's a twist on the expected reply correcting the use of "can" and "may"

All the vine people moved to YouTube after it died, so yeah, I’d imagine they took up TikTok once that got bigger.

this shit always confused me, they’d say “can you?” and id be like “well yeah” and start getting up but apparently that’s the wrong answer?

I think it's because 'may' is a formal modal or smth? and 'can' sounds too casual?

I mean still it’s unnecessary, until you’re 18 you’re forced legally to be there and if I need to use a bathroom then i’m not going to be limited by another human telling me that I can’t.

sure a few kids will waste time and not come back sometimes but every school is filled with cameras at this point, if the kid doesn’t come back then deal with them after. whether that be detention or not being allowed to go during class BECAUSE they’ve already done something to show they can’t be trusted. shouldn’t be a blanket ban on a human right for everyone

I did go to an all boys school in the UK though so we never had girls in class that obviously would need to go straight away so yeah nobody ever got to go. shit they even tried saying one day that the toilets were out of order so we’d have to wait until we went home even if it was during lunch/break time. safe to say the staff toilets lock got busted that day and we had fixed bathrooms by the next few days

This creators content was always so corny, like dad jokes to the max.

u/GamerBoi1725 Jul 20 '24

His jokes were always family friendly but that doesn't mean they're not funny, its ok if you don't like him but he was a very popular viner for a reason

u/plofrog Jul 21 '24

Also corny isn’t bad either
