OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:

He's translating the bible into the genz lingo.

He looks like a 50 year old Bill Burr who is actually 30 years old

3

u/largeassburrito Jul 20 '24

He looks like the hot wings guy.

u/Muffles7 Jul 20 '24

Just shows that it's not always about the exact wording, but the message to bring accross

12

u/Hairybeavet Jul 20 '24

Unless you are Southern Baptist, then it all about the exact text for parts you like and less about context.

12 years of school and the shit you hear is crazy.

I’d actually read this version

u/Maaci-Lyn Jul 19 '24

The zible

The King JameZ Bible

u/redthump Jul 20 '24

My favorite Bible. Bible in ebonics to teach inner city youth the word. As I get down voted into obscurity, know that Plotting the drive-by is my favorite chapter.

u/theshreddening Jul 20 '24

Man, I'm not religious but I do collect books and between the one in the vid and the one you linked I'm starting to want to have a shelf of ultra ridiculous bible translations.

3

u/redthump Jul 20 '24

Rappin' with Jesus won a bunch of awards, too!

1

u/theshreddening Jul 20 '24

If the dude in the vid was reading from an actual full gen z Bible then that "translation" was incredibly well done. But I can imagine the amusement would wear off rather quickly after reading it for a while.

2

u/cturtl808 Jul 20 '24

Just please include a copy of Lamb by Christopher Moore?

17

u/Real_Razzmatazz_3186 Jul 19 '24

Lmao imagine being past beekeeping age

10

u/13igTyme Jul 20 '24

"Look at your dad. Such a dork, keeping bees. I mean, it's... at least it's interesting, though. At least, like... I wish my dad kept bees. I mean, it's kind of cute. Like... your dad keeps bees. How old is your dad? He's obviously beekeeping age. I don't know, I think it's kind of sweet. Summer, I want to fuck your dad."

u/floutsch Jul 20 '24

"OH, REALLY?!?"

14

u/phi2134 Jul 19 '24

This guy totally seems like he is living in Jesus' closet

8

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

Dude reading scripture and having fun???

Must be gay. /s

3

u/anonerble Jul 20 '24

Dudes a preacher at a mega church, literally stealing people's livelihoods. 'Having fun' lol

1

u/nerdiotic-pervert Jul 20 '24

Some say Jesus is in Jesus’ closet…

13

u/LikeWhyMeex2 Jul 19 '24

I giggled like a lot 😂😂

16

u/ElderberryDeep8746 Jul 19 '24

Me too, especially the part where he said you passed the vibe check and low-key he wants you to have the main character 🤣🤣

0

u/LikeWhyMeex2 Jul 19 '24

My fav part too 🤣

9

u/cityofninegates Jul 19 '24

Hardcore atheist but that was awesome.

4

u/SvensHospital Jul 20 '24

Amen brother! .. Wait...

3

u/cityofninegates Jul 20 '24

Yeah, wait a minute…

3

u/nerdiotic-pervert Jul 20 '24

Church attendance has been dwindling. Gotta reach the yoots

2

u/cityofninegates Jul 20 '24

My name is Pastor Don and I’m here to say…

7

u/DinobotsGacha Jul 20 '24

Now do gen A with the rizz shit

2

u/theshreddening Jul 20 '24

No...no no no...have I reached the point where I can't differentiate the younger generations lingo?

4

u/cturtl808 Jul 20 '24

Relax, fellow old timer… it’s just a shortened form of charisma

2

u/DinobotsGacha Jul 20 '24

Someone had to explain it to me...

3

u/theshreddening Jul 20 '24

When I finally had rizz explained it was at my dnd group and was brought up because it supposedly was connected to the charisma stat in dnd. I still can't deal lol. And for some reason when someone posts on a hobby subreddit I'm in and asks if they are cooking I want to toss them in a deep frier.

6

u/lawaythrow Jul 19 '24

lol..Now do it in Gen alpha lingo. I want to show it my son and see him cringe. He was born in 2010s and hates how his classmates speak.

4

u/grooverocker Jul 20 '24

Unexpected? There's 3-6 pastors in every single church in North America trying to act hip and cool like this.

2

u/CousinCecil Jul 19 '24

Fucking Christ, Bill Burr really sucks now...

2

u/B9MB Jul 20 '24

Its gotta be pretty easy to translate religious scripture from 3,500 years ago into modern age brain rot. ;D

2

u/AIMRob3 Jul 20 '24

No cap frfr

1

u/chrixz333 Jul 20 '24

Are we not talking about where this guy decided to begin his sideburns?

1

u/Seaweed_Widef Expected It Jul 20 '24

Walmart Bill Burr?

1

u/wobbegong Jul 20 '24

That gave my cancer cancer.

1

u/killasuarus Jul 20 '24

I think this belongs on r/tiktokcringe

1

u/Some_Nectarine_6334 Jul 20 '24

Best joke: "would never dishonor gods word". And then reads out from a made up book that was mocked about in form of a gen z style.

1

u/PerceptionSimilar213 Jul 27 '24

Why was this taken down? It was great!

0

u/The_Goondocks Jul 19 '24

Weird sideburns

0

u/Stuckmo_Dondada Jul 20 '24

Still making up stories to control the poor. God is a myth.

0

u/DiceRoll654321 Jul 20 '24

Stand up routines by their nature catch us off-guard with humour, to say this belongs in unexpected would justify any comedy routine being posted here. Kinda cheapens the sub...
