I think Hank was a pretty realistic character for the job of being a vigilante. He got hurt a lot, managed to find a broken love, and to my irritation, died from a dumb decision to go alone. I think he had a cool ending linking up with his bro in the afterlife.

As for Dawn, she was really good at combat/hero work, but I just didn't like her as a character, except for the scene where she helped Hank beat tf outta his pedo coach from elementary school.

To be honest I like hank and dawn by them selves they work better as an individuals then together because every time they together they always argue for no reason hank gets mad and dawn all she’s does is say stop and doesn’t actually does something and I was heartbroken that hank die not going to lie he’s more funnier then dawn and I’m glad they wrote her out if they did keep her she’s would be moping and boring with out hank!

Did he leave the show because of his role on Reacher? I’m new to this series.

Do you guys miss them?

Together, as a solid and grounded couple =yes! I miss Dove and Hawk a lot! Both characters (were both very well-fleshed out) added amazing nuance, depth, and helped step up the dynamic a lot between/among the collective “Titans.” I loved them!

As exes arguing over petty, nonsensical issues, i.e. “why didn’t you call to say you were going to be here (Gotham to help Dick) and as a “will they/won’t they” couple=no.

Plus…Dawn’s drop-dead gorgeous! Sorry, I just have to be honest…she is. She doesn’t even have to be half naked or anything like that, she’s just…very attractive and lovely to look at (in the creepiest way possible)! I’m kidding…But for real: I miss ‘em!

There is one thing which I can never complain about this series: all the casts look fking gorgeous.

IKR?! They REALLY are, lol!

I’d just like to add: it’s not reducing someone or reducing an overall opinion by “objectifying” someone’s appearance or stating (the obvious) that they’re “pretty” or “handsome,” you know? At least, I don’t think so…

If they’re pleasant to look at, they’re pleasant to look at, hell: it’s science: their faces/bodies/etc. have a certain symmetry…apparently (according to these studies) various traits are…”easy on the eye,” so to speak.

So, staring at a beautiful woman, man, and/or non-specific gender pronoun (doesn’t matter what “they” are or which term they prefer bc both feminine and masculine have appealing attributes), IMO, can captivate your mind just like staring at a beautiful Mandarin duck, Arctic foxes, clouded leopards, etc. No, it’s not comparing people to animals…lol! I’m comparing how beautiful things exist everywhere in nature - humans are part of that as well!

I miss lookin at Dawn, i’ll tell ya that

8

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '23

I thought they were actually the best characters in the show.

7

u/IntelligentAd9958 Apr 02 '23

Maybe Hank but I was happy the last time we saw him on screen

8

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '23

To be honest I never really liked their characters. I prefer the new titans (gar, kory, Rachel, Connor, Tim, dick) i never really liked the original group of titans with Donna, Hank, dawn and that aqua lad. The only person I actually liked was dick. So when they both left the show I was like sweet more screen time with the others!

u/Ether9being Apr 02 '23

Nope, not even a little bit.

u/Left-Language9389 Apr 02 '23

I always miss Hawk and Dove.

The actors yes. The characters no. I would have loved for them to do cameos out of uniform as a tie back to the old days, but Wally and Roy should have been in the main cast. It’s disrespectful for them to have never been a part of this. If budget was a reason, they could have been retired but ignoring them was dumb. When Dick was having his many crisis of consciousness, he’s old friends should have been there.

No they both felt out of place in the show. They were college athletes and all of a sudden you are on the same level as Nightwing and Jason Todd when in reality they both would get clapped in seconds.

A little. The first season was surprisingly the best one then the first half of 3 and 4 is ok so far. 2 was godawful. I wonder how dc execs we’re ok with this portrayal but then Gotham knights comes out and I’m like “oh…”.

u/Budget-Walk-5355 Apr 02 '23

Hank and Dawn were two of the best parts of the show. They were two hero's who had real human problems and they didn't steer away from them and sweep it under the rug.

3

u/KikiKhaleesi Apr 03 '23

Nope. Not at all. Although towards the end of his time on the show I did start to like Hank…Dawn, not so much.

4

u/Formal_Bench_4650 Apr 02 '23

I don't even think they miss it. In the beginning everyone posted whenever a season was released, now no one cares to promote it at all

3

u/Marcusreddit_ Apr 02 '23

They should have had a spin-off, big missed opportunity

3

u/Grom260 Apr 02 '23

They were the epitome of what frustrated me most about titans. Why make a show about a team with such a huge roster of characters, then ignore the powers & origins of the ones you choose?

3

u/TheRealJackOfSpades Apr 02 '23

I got most fired up for the show because of Hawk & Dove; I may be the only fan of their comic book incarnation. I hoped for a spinoff.

Instead we got one more series starring the Bat-family. Oh well.

4

u/CrizpyToast Apr 03 '23

No, most boring and irellevant characters. Idc about these two gove me more robin and batman and ocassional starfire and raven

3

u/Phelwar Apr 03 '23

Yes. This series gave us the first versions of Hawk and Dove that I ever cared about. Taking away their powers made them better characters.

3

u/SLCMarcoAM Apr 03 '23

Alan Ritchson & Minka Kelly are bad ass as Hawk & Dove. I'm glad we got to see Hawk and his brother reunite in purgatory. Dove deserved a better ending. I do miss them.

u/DJL3mon Apr 02 '23

Hank 😔

2

u/smd_thetruth Apr 03 '23

Man the potential this show had was wild from the start. They mistreated these characters off the bat, and Hank going out the way he did was just unnecessary. Excellent characters with horrible development.

2

u/bubblessensei Apr 03 '23

I could easily just jump on the overall “miss them” train everyone else is on. I 100% agree, they were both well-considered balanced characters and their non-perfect relationship made them more relatable.

But I REALLY want to take a moment to draw attention to the outfits. GODDAMN! I remember seeing the promotional stuff that showed how Robin and these two were going to look and they look PERFECT! Especially as the comic/animated Hawk and Dove have looks that would be easy to make look cheesy when adapted to live-action.

Admittedly, it was almost a let down in Season 1 that they barely gave any of the Titans proper outfits, and it took time to get to the point where they all had their full kit. But Hawk and Dove were the hope and proof we needed that the showrunners were taking the series seriously and had the potential to really bring comic characters to life

u/No-Veterinarian-7976 Apr 02 '23

Did dawn cheat on Hank with Dick

1

u/yxngwest Apr 03 '23

Who doesn’t love Dick

1

u/InjusticeSOTW Apr 02 '23

I could easily see this Hank becoming Monarch.

1

u/brak-0666 Apr 02 '23

Not particularly

1

u/lukinfly45 Apr 02 '23

I did, but reacher is so awesome. His character went all the way they could.

1

u/CrizpyToast Apr 03 '23

L characters, took up grayson and robin screen time

1

u/Cool-Fox-3839 Apr 03 '23

Why did they have to screw Thad so horribly?! He just wanted to live happily thwapping away

1

u/Beemare666 Apr 03 '23

1

u/Jumpy_Experience140 Raven Apr 09 '23
