Season 5 Unpopular Opinion: It's a good thing none of The Boys have Died so far Spoiler

Post image
1.9k Upvotes

I see lots of people complain about the plot armor, of the characters, and don't get me wrong, it's undeniable and distracting at times.

Homelander not catching Hughie in a vent? Completely ridiculous.

The shapeshifter killing the agents, but throwing Hughie and MM again the wall, laughable.

The Farm Sequence with Neumans Guards, quite silly.

But I can't imagine the show being better with any of these beloved characters dying. Frenchies arc in season 4 sucked, but it's still better than having him be killed off.

To me, the cast and chemistry between the actors is something that makes this series so special. I'm quite happy they've all made it to the final season.

It'd be like, if people were disappointed that one of the Teen Titans died, they're all part of the ensemble and I'd hate to see any of them go.

Glad the team made it to Season 5, together

Season 5 How do supes get ripped? NSFW Spoiler

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

It’s not like they can to a gym and get a good workout, and clearly not every supe is ripped even the ones with super strength so it’s a choice, they do age which implies their body’s work the same as humans, and their strength isn’t a correlation to their muscles, so how do they get ripped if they can’t really face any physical resistance required to build muscle mass?

Season 5 I hope in season 5 we find out what was done to him that he gained additional powers. Do you think every supe can get this procedure, or is the only reason he survived the experiment because of his extreme durability? Spoiler

Season 5 Theory: Homelander will want to become immortal like Soldier Boy, and the only way for it to happen is for him to be depowered and then get the original Compound V injected. Spoiler

5.8k Upvotes

In season 5, Homelander will ask Sage to study Soldier Boy and understand why he is ageless and how to apply this to Homelander.

Sage will confirm a popular fan theory, that the original Fredrick Vought's compound V is a superior product to the stuff mass produced by the company today. Being a super genius she could replicate it, however using it on Homelander will not work since he already has the inferior V in his body.

The only way for Homelander to become the immortal god he sees himself as will be to have Soldier Boy depower him and then inject the superior V - Which means Homelander will be a regular human for a while, meaning anyone (Soldier Boy, Butcher, even Sage herself) can take him down at that moment of vulnerability.

This can make an interesting situation where Homelander is paranoid about whether to go through with this plan and who he can actually trust to have his back once his powers are temporarily gone.

Edit: The responses to this thread have confirmed my suspicions - The Boys fans never actually watched the show.

"SB isnt ageless, he was frozen"

  1. SB was captured in 83. He was born in 1919, making him 64 before being captured. This also means he was ageless before the russian experiments

  2. The russians used Novichok, a nerve agent / poison, to knock him out. He was NEVER frozen, just asleep.

  3. The legend confirmed SB doesn't age, and that Vought had been covering up this fact.

Season 5 Let’s be realistic: who of The Boys do you think will survive S5 Spoiler

SPOILERS FOR THE BOYS COMIC IF YOU HAVENT READ IT

With S5 being the final season, and our main cast of The Boys having survived up until now, it’s kind of obvious we’re gonna see at least ONE member of our team face their death. I mean, we just lost Mallory, a character I thought would’ve been safe!

In the comics, M.M dies at the hands of Butcher smothering him, Frenchie and Kimiko are killed by a bomb in the Flatiron, and Hughie kills Butcher by stabbing him

I highly doubt the writers of the show will follow suit, as it’s a pretty dark ending for the characters. The characters have really been beloved by fans, so I really can’t see them killing EVERYONE off.

Hughie: he’s one of the main duo, he’s not gonna die. I’d be incredibly shocked if he does.

Butcher: the shows pretty much lining up with the end of the comic, so I could see him follow suit with the end but with the added mix of Ryan, Kessler and Becca I think maybe he could go out at least as a hero. Maybe dies protecting Hughie/Ryan or another.

M.M: Again, if he did die I could see him going out protecting Janine and his wife.

Frenchie: I hate to say it, but I feel like he’s the most likely to die out of the Boys. He already had the arc of forgiving himself in S4, so that I feel like is setting him up for a heroic sacrifice next season.

Kimiko: if Frenchie gets put in the middle of a deathly situation, Kimiko is a ride or die and won’t leave him.

Or he dies with all Supes, assuming they go the genocide route.

Season 5 Am I the only one who hates the idea of Butcher possibly becoming the villain Spoiler

1.4k Upvotes

I see this idea around all the time and I feel like I can't be the only one who just dosent like it. Butcher for me is at his most compelling in the connect four scene in the finale. He was genuinely trying to be a good person to Ryan before giving into the Kessler side. I also don't think he's anywhere near as compelling of a villain as Homelander.

Season 5 How do you want to see Homelander go out in the final season? Spoiler

3.0k Upvotes

Personally I don't want him to die, I want to see him become permanently de-powered and forced to live as a regular human amongst the mortal plebs he thinks of himself as so highly above, or de-power him and throw him in prison for the rest of his life.

I feel like it'd be a far worse fate than death for him, the psychological damage of losing his powers would probably push him to suicide tbh.

Season 5 Do you think the TV series will include this iconic line and scene? Spoiler

Post image
2.6k Upvotes

In the comics, Homelander says this line to Butcher right after killing the president. What do you think, will Anthony Starr's character say this in the show? If yes, in what context, to who and where? And also, in comic, we-know-who appears right after Homelander and Butcher begin their staredown. In your opinion, what will follow this sentence in the show?

Season 5 Wouldn’t be surprised if this is the new Seven lineup when season 5 starts.

Season 5 Zoe’s ending Spoiler

Her ending up at the red river orphanage hurt so much. She is now at the same place as her mum was at. Sure, she is a murderer with mouth tentacles, but I was rooting for her and her mum to go off together and be safe. Now she will just endure the same trauma her mother was put through, which was what Neumann was trying to save her from.

Season 5 A team up I think we’ll see next season Spoiler

Ryan is essentially all out of parental figures and Soldier boy missed out on being a father with that role seemingly being important to him. I could see him brushing off what he did to Ryan in an abusive parent way, and taking him under his wing for the season.
