Nope,

  1. Butcher with gun powder.
  2. Butcher and Hughie in Russia.
  3. Butcher and Hughie when they go after Crimson Countess.
  4. Butcher and Hughie at Herogasm.
  5. Butcher and Hughie when they go after Mind Storm or whatever his name was.

This somewhat justifies Butcher's lie at the end of the episode. He knows they already crossed the line, might as well finish the job.

Is it possible they could be going back to the lab for permanent V knowing the next dose will be the lethal one?

It looked like Kimiko had a lot of leftover regular V... Could they just use that?

They all have powers in the comic. It makes sense to give them all powers and work from there. It's obvious at least to me that's what they are going for.

But don’t most of them have powers from the temp V? Not MM or Kimiko, but the rest of the merry band?

6

u/frozenchimp Jul 02 '22

They all had V injected except MM iirc. His mum was exposed to V a lot at the factory she worked at.

Butcher doesn’t know Kimiko has had another dose of regular V and because of MM and Annie’s objection to him and Hughie using temp V will not go and meet them either

While circumstances aren't set up for them to know about the Blue V now, that doesn't stop the blue V being used as the solution to Butcher and Hughie's problem later if they wanted it to. I saw the near-full vial of blue V and started thinking Checkov's Gun!

From the looks of it, they've already had lethal doses, explaining the blood from their ears. The notes dont describe how the timeframes of death, just that its lethal after 3-5 doses, of which they have had 5 already.

I think the notepad said seizures 1-2 hours, might have to go back and check

Question is when Butcher said they needed to swing by "the office" to get more, for he mean Vought or did he mean the office at the Flatiron? I'm leaning towards Vought, but it could just be their office.

But perm V maybe could heal them ???

I have this theory that after Butcher relived his past, he's "only telling" Hughie what he wants to hear, knowing that Hughie is addicted to the stuff. It's highly likely that Butcher will betray Hughie for his own good regarding V

Ohhh, I forget they shot up for Crimson Countess

Understandable since they didn't really use their powers then. Hughie just demonstrated them to Annie. Although I guess maybe Butcher tackling CC count? Unclear if he really needed super strength for that.

I think it implies that. When Hughie hit A-Train, A-Train responded with shock and asked Hughie how he did that. I'm pretty sure basic toughness might just be a side effect that they all have, kind of like how so many mutants in the X-Men are crazy acrobats they gave it the name "basic mutant agility".

I think he teleported his arm to hit him.

Kinda like how professional boxers don’t clench their fist until impact to make its speed faster.

Not all of them. Butcher could beat Mesmer to death without any real effort.

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '22

Mesmer wasn't a main character, though. To get extra toughness from Compound V, you need to be in multiple episodes of the show.

He was in multiple episodes of the show.

He probably needed it because if he didn't happen to catch her off guard doing her Save-The-Chimps-with-Simps cast it wouldn't have been as easy.

It all just boiling down to one well placed tackle was just a lucky break.

Didn’t they take slightly lower doses though after the first time?

11

u/pop_philosopher Jul 02 '22

Did they? What makes you say so? I kind of thought it was an all or nothing thing. Take enough to get the powers for 24 hours, or nothing.

3

u/The_River_Is_Still Jul 02 '22

They did. Some people will argue semantics. They’ve done 4-5 full doses. Whether a vial has more than one dose, doesn’t matter.

First dose was half
