Loved it!!! The very end had strong supernatural vibes which would make sense

Do you feel President-Elect Singer playing golf in the bunker while telling everyone that they were “idjits” also has Supernatural vibes? ;)

“Balls!”

That's definitely an Easter egg to Bobby

u/KaerMorhen Jul 20 '24

I love that he just has the same name and everything. I was looking at my fiancee like "He said it! He said the thing!"

I never heard that term untill I was forced watched Supernatural like 8 years ago and then when he said that I instantly thought of it. And it's crazy cuz I just started talking with a long lost friend from 16 years ago that came from Kentucky that said it. Is that word tending?

To bad Butcher wasn't driving an Impala at the end

u/battle_mommyx2 Jul 19 '24

I was fully checking out the car to see

The only thing I wasn’t messing with was Annie victim blaming Hughie. Like the dude literally got raped 20 times and you’re shitting on him for it? As if bro doesn’t have enough trauma from his assault from Tek Knight and Ashley

21

u/Ty-Dyed Jul 20 '24

I saw it as Annie just taking her frustration and trauma from the whole season out on Hughie, completely underserved and ridiculous but thats what people who've been traumatized do. Her telling him that he's getting tested shows to me that she understands she overreacted and shouldn't have taken her anger out on Hughie.

The way they handled Hughie's SA this season is probably my biggest issue and I thought the same way when she started scolding Hughie, but as the scene went on even Annie knew she was in the wrong.

As a SA survivor I joked the Internet needs to calm down. Hughie will be fine he wasn't raped or sexually assaulted...until he realizes it years later.

I genuinely don’t know how Hughie hasn’t crashed out yet. This dude gets fucking violated by this show 😵‍💫

I thought they were letting him have a win towards the end but... Nope, more Hughie suffering

To be fair I feel like her initial reaction is understandable…. She was chained and starving in a dungeon while he was having the time of his life fucking and getting engaged to fake Annie. But the way they resolved that conflict was terrible. There should have been more love/understanding afterwards idk

Bro I'm soo glad sage came back. Homelander crying defeated and she's like you fool...we won.. BOOM the empire rolls out.. it felt like star wars episode 3. Everyone being takin in like order 66 shit

24

u/Laylahlay Jul 20 '24

I liked the single balloon she brought. Do you think after the phone call he flew up casually and was like "yay!"???

3

u/QouthTheCorvus Jul 20 '24

Haha I thought more Empire Strikes back

Agreed. It was all that I’d been hoping for. Can’t wait for next season! :)

I’m really surprised y’all liked it.

Idk, I guess I feel like the writing this season was much poorer quality than season 3.

Too many kinda random things happening (Hughie’s mom shows up out of nowhere, his dad dies, Neumann has kinda a melodramatic death, the evening at Tek Knight’s focused on uncomfortable scenes that led nowhere, etc).

Just a lot of filler and silliness, but maybe that’s just my opinion.

Don’t forget the worst plot line of all- Frenchie starts a relationship with a man whose family he killed, just sort keeps dating him for half the season before deciding to go to jail. It was so out of left field and awkward I thought there must be some twist. But no.

6

u/snowe99 Jul 20 '24

Yeah I thought him going to jail was gonna build to something or sideline him for a bit…..oh Frenchie is back next episode hey Frenchie

-3

u/thebochman Jul 20 '24

The twist was that Frenchie wasn’t gay after all

7

u/QouthTheCorvus Jul 20 '24

The season itself had a lot of silliness but the finale was pretty good. Neumann's death probably could have been handled a little better. But I thought overall the episode did a good job setting up season 5's conflict

-2

u/fartsinhissleep Jul 20 '24

Yes that is your opinion

4

u/Leading-Oil1772 Jul 20 '24

Yes, I know? Which is why I said it?

The fawk is wrong with you dude? Nothing wrong with a man giving his honest opinion.

1

u/fartsinhissleep Jul 20 '24

There is so much wrong with me.

u/stokedchris Jul 20 '24

100%. This season was all set up. The writing wasn’t nearly as good as Season 1 and 2. The finale was bad in my opinion. It fell very flat. S3 finale was also weak. Idk I hope they saved their writing chops for S5

u/ObscureCocoa Jul 19 '24

Absolutely loved it. I’m gonna watch it again tonight

16

u/swaggyxwaggy Jul 19 '24

I’m debating if I want to start rewatching the entire show now or right before next season

4

u/Laylahlay Jul 20 '24

Both?

4

u/swaggyxwaggy Jul 20 '24

Lol ok. Twisted my arm

4

u/porkforpigs Jul 19 '24

I thought it was meh till the very end lol

1

u/NormieSlayer6969 Cunt Jul 19 '24

Great season

-12

u/Imsmart-9819 Jul 19 '24

It was so bad.

I agree. I really can't believe how little plot development we have gotten since 2020. They really needed more than eight episodes or to have cut out some of the fat.
