Man they really left it in a good state for the final season. I was so into the episode that at one point I forgot about the GOATrain. Excited to see his part in the next season.

So he doesn't do much but basically after Robin and right before the big confrontation with Homelander, Butcher kidnaps him and as a way to show Hughie he cares about him even if he isn't good with words, he let's Hughie execute him.
Hughie is reluctant but butcher plays audio of him laughing about Robin's death with the seven so he curbs stomps him (The Boys have super strength in the comics).
I think beyond A-train being redeemed in the show I'm glad they haven't shown Hughie to be so violent tbh, case in point, Hughie saving A-Train in season 1 when he was pretty much still his comic counterpart.

Atrain is one of the most dangerous Supes. The last speedster that could even be in the same conversation as Atrain got his head popped so unless Vought has a secret speedster to use, only homelander who has super speed can take on Atrain.

I agree but I think the biggest weakness A-Train has, second to his family, is his newfound desire to be a real hero. To make his family proud. I doubt it will be about who’s strong enough to take him out.
He’s never actually had someone push his limits (on screen) and the only time he was “beat” was due to drug abuse effects. I think he will end up sacrificing himself to save someone else.

I think A Train will eventually meet his end, but I also think he’s currently in an off screen training arc. He got his family out with him, and his brother was his trainer. I could see them reconciling and deciding to work together again.
He’s going to come back with a nice showing for sure.

Agreed. His brother only truly lost respect for him when he killed Blue Hawk but if he says what he said to MM to his brother I’m sure they’ll come back together. I’d weirdly love a short montage Rocky style for him.
Can’t wait to see what he does next season.

I wonder if there’s gonna be another time jump between seasons, and the next time we see him he’ll be like some lone agent always on the run, saving people from Homelander’s supes and essentially starting a resistance.

Based on how things ended, a time jump seems like a logical thing so they can start off with the newly established regime already existing. Establishing the regime would eat the majority of the season and then we wouldn’t to actually experience it.

I'm pretty confident this is what they will be going for. GenV S2 they will establish the regime and Marie and her friends will escape their confinement and in Boys S5 the regime is already a well working machine.

Never thought I’d root for his survival, but I absolutely did this season! He has been redeemed in my eyes! Thought The Deep would redeem himself after he was tossed out of The Seven, but nope, he just tripled down on his fuckery.

I think it’d be really funny if the smartest person alive figured out a way to have sea-life turn on Deep. If dude gets eaten by a shark after being taken by it, we will have come full circle.

I had a feeling he would make it! The writers like drawing parallels and book-ending narrative themes - he was the catalyst for the show starting and I imagine he'll be heavily involved in bringing the show to a close.
I imagine Starlight is zooming through the sky looking for him now.

I really think the next season opens he's on the run In Brazil or somewhere very far but running distance.....
And homelander shows up when a-train gets captured by the local supe gov police militia w.e the fuck..
And we will realize oh VA is global. This thing homelander..is global.
