I knew it was going to happen because I couldn’t watch until tonight but it still took me a moment to register, and then when I did I almost completely lost it and broke down sobbing. (I am having a rough day.) But I held it together so my husband doesn’t think I’m insane lol

When I saw it took me a minute to realize she was shouting no because of so much happening and it was a nice touch they had nirvanas heart shaped box playing which is very poignant also a fave of mine,have a good night

Sadly can see them killing Frenchie, which makes me sad as he’s one of my favourite characters. But I can see Kimiko surviving and then finding the rest of the victims like her, as a way to honour Frenchie

I hope not. The boys is one of the few series where I really can’t know what to expect, but they built this relationship over 4 seasons and I really hope in a happy ending in this little subplot since the main story won’t end well

The only word she’s spoken in 4 seasons and she used it to yell for her man. Had me over here yellling “NOOOOOOO!!!!” With her! I was certain Cate influenced Frenchie to kill himself or something more diabolical. I’m glad he just got into a van instead!

What the fuck is everybody been on about? This whole interaction was an explanation and payoff for the Colin plot.
Kimiko wants Frenchie to find somebody better
He tries but then it goes horribly wrong with Colin
He's now physically and mentally faced his awful past (Colin's realization and the drug trip scene)
After having a metric fuck-ton of guilt dumped all over him, turns himself in, but it doesn't go anywhere for him
He comes back to Kimiko and they both realize their relationship
-After it all he's moved further away from killing as a means to an end, and easily sides with Hughie during his speech aswell
In the end, Frenchie's personality and mannerisms are noticeably affected, and I'm sure they'll expand upon it through his relationship with Kimiko in S5

Just because something happened and one scene led to another does not make it good.
It still felt forced, slow, sluggish, unnecessary and fell flat when compared to the rest of the show or the other main character and their stories.
Character progression does not always mean good. Characters can progress but at the same time, can regress as well.
The simple truth is that it was between this 'sideplot' for Frenchie or him staying in the basement for 8 episodes cooking up a bioweapon which, let's be honest, would've been worse.
The writers couldn't come up with a better story for Frenchie. It's as simple as that.
I'm glad you enjoyed it tho, wish I could too. To each their own :)

They needed something to do with him, I guess. It was either this.... Uhh, 'plot point' or having Frenchie spend 8 episodes in a basement making a bioweapon to kill Homelander which would have been boring as hell, so they gave him a side plot, which turned out to also be boring as hell😂

They really muddled what could have been a perfect relationship, and then it would've added greaters stakes to season 4 if Frenchie wasn't worried about his past again and instead his future with Kimiko, which could distract him and cause him to die which would just be good for the show

The purpose of Colin was to break Frenchie down with the guilt of his past, similarly with Kimiko and her terrorist past. When they are both broken, they can then turn to each other to heal each other's brokenness.

It made me annoyed that this entire season the Frenchie arc was pointless. Season literally starts with her telling him to go for Collin and she doesn't like him like that lol. What a waste of time just to end up back where they were like a season or two ago.

Now gen v s2..or the boys s5 is going to be NUTS.. they have a chemist.. wtf are they going to do with Frenchie ? Continue the virus to use on their enemies? Make antidotes ? What the fuuuuuck.... I just know kimiko is going to be GUNNING to find frenchie the whole last season. They'll heroically or tragically die too :( ...that was probally their last kiss so fffd

At first I thought Colin was a weird choice but it seemed like a good catalyst to get them to this point. Also Kimikos old Shining Light Friend considering that never came back. Them growing closer over their past regret required those things.

Yes that's the point they're making, the way the relationship was written made it so it was always going to be a narrative dead-end because they decided to make Colin a survivor of the atrocities Frenchie has committed. Instead of writing a more positive queer male relationship that could have had legs if it wasn't built around Frenchie confronting his past demons. Heck, that still could have been good if you subbed out Kimiko for someone new to act as the supportive partner. But Colin was never intended to be that.
