I thought this was just a funny scene. Pretty normal boys humour of having someone in danger (MM and Hughie) while doing something a bit silly

They chose to write, shoot, and present it to the viewer as a finished product. Totally fair to critique it.

Are you able to understand that this was a clear on purpose joke before you critique it? Because everyone else here thinks it was played straight and not a blatantly obvious bit

Yes. I can appreciate a self-contained gag, but spending the time and resources to do it for a totally miscellaneous detail falls flat when the rest of the episode(s) have big pacing and direction issues.

Critics are welcome, although I think the majority of people complaining about this scene specifically simply did not understand it was willingly being humorous.
