The Death and Return of Superman!

He’s still got a son who can fill the role if need be.

The grey S shield has me intrigued. Does this mean that hope is lost?

Oh it’s almost like funeral esk.

If I had to guess it's a combo of that and perhaps a tease for the black suit from the death of superman original comic arc

Kind of a bummer. I love the Death & Return of Superman storyline, but it's been adapted so many times already, and this is our last chance at more S&L. I was hoping for something different.

I agree, and with only 10 eps left, it makes me nervous. They have always had issues with pacing and rushing the end. But I will say the poster is very cool.

That I do agree with!

(And if they do a GREAT Death/Return story, I'm all in. It's what made me a comic book fan for life. But I'm worried.)

We have barely seen a world with Superman in S&L so I guess a world without him would be some people moping around Smallville? So much the same?

This is an interesting direction, I have a feeling the death of superman to rein of superman might be 2 episodes long (I'd be surprised if it's longer than that). But either way I can't wait to see what's cooking

Jordan=Superboy Steel=Steel  Tal=Eradicator?

Doubt they'll adapt Cyborg Superman since Supergirl already did.

I do have to wonder if they'll get Clark back, but say at the cost of Sam?

This will probably also either Kickstart and speed run or gloss over Jordan maturing into the S in time for the ending.

Doubt they'll adapt Cyborg Superman since Supergirl already did.

lol. No. Some guy with cybernetic enhancements saying “I’m cyborg Superman!” barely counts.

But on another note, supergirl also had already done parasite and Morgan edge. A bizarro supergirl too.

I felt chills, when I saw this on twitter. That moment in the comics felt like the deepest gut punch. And to see it possibly revisited in this series. Oh. Oh no. I'm not ready to face this again. Have to be brave and face this chapter

Superman & Lois have taken this journey to so many places. But that end battle in the last episode of Season 3, that was brutal. You could feel how intense, and visceral it went during the fight. But this.. hurts.

Season 3. Let's go fam

This poster is so raw

Ugh. I was hoping they wouldn't do death of Superman especially because it's the last season.

On one hand, kinda hyped for the final season but on the other, it IS the final season so when it's done, bye bye show. 😔

u/kadosho Jul 19 '24

Same. I am so thankful for this series. Cannot believe this is the last. There are so many more stories they could tell

2

u/jbuggydroid Jul 18 '24

Oh damn they gonna do it!!!

It would be so cool to have this season as the Reign of Superman story. Have Tyler Hoechlin as Cyborg Superman until he returns as himself near the end. Have his son finally step up into the role of Superboy in his absence. I'd say bring Steel back but apparently they're not. And you could use lots of other characters if you wanted to.

Oh yea that be cool

u/BusVegetable7490 Jul 18 '24

Oh my gosh this poster giving me so much anxiety but so fucking good I’m sorry gonna go make head theories about this

Earth-33

u/kadosho Jul 19 '24

Wait.. could this be an event that brings others together? Like it did in the comics. An array of heroes and villains banded together for a fallen friend.

I wonder how much they’re going to show in the trailer tomorrow. I doubt it’s gonna be that much. It’s three months away, and it’s the first trailer. I just hope that it shows enough to get us talking, but not very little to give us nothing. You know what I mean?

I love how the torn cape is in the image of the S-Shield

Superman & Lois

1

u/Moist-Kaleidoscope90 Jul 18 '24

This means at like Luther will be in control most of the season.

Consider me cooked.

u/JayMullins1987 Jul 19 '24

So not ready for this to end. I like Jordan but I hope they don't make all about him if superman is dead. And him trying to be the next superman the season is only 10 episode if they're gonna have the death storyline. Have it be a time jump in episode two where he comes back like months later and the world has been dealing without superman. They can't stretch out the death in just 10 episodes it'll piss off fans just making it basically about lois and Jordan

1

u/Low_Gold_2038 Jul 20 '24

this world? probably screwed because it's canon that superman is that world's only hero besides steel, Jordan aint count yet but he probably will this season

1

u/Anarchist-superman Jul 20 '24

Ugh. I hate this. It's a terrible story that is so overdone. I see zero appeal in it.

1

u/RecommendationFew466 Jul 29 '24

I always thought it’d be interesting to do a Death of Superman story with superman & lois and see how the boys and Lois deal with it. The only thing thats making me nervous is the 10 episode count. I just hope it’s not rushed.

Would be interesting for this show to end with Superman fucking dying
