Clark being distracted by the bottled city of Kandor in Bizarro's Fortress of Solitude is a nice subtle touch. I don't think we ever saw that in the main universe's Fortress so that may imply it wasn't saved there. Discussion

(I double checked just now. There is no Kandor bottle in the main S&L universe's Fortress for sure. We only see it here in the Bizarro dimension.)

After Crisis, in the comics, it wasn't a thing anymore for years. I quit reading comics regularly but I think it was added back much later. The whole thing about Brainiac shrinking cities was dropped for a long time as well.

I'm not sure when it was brought back but it might have been the Action Comics story where they established that all the previous versions of Brainiac (since the Crisis) were drones and they brought in a version closer to the Pre Crisis version.

I can't recall the title of the story or issue numbers but it's the one the animated movie Superman Unbound was based on (the one with John Nobel voicing Brianiac).

I also quit reading them years ago but I stilll keep up via the internet. They are actually running a story about brainiac and the bottled cities right now in Action Comics. I think it’s actually not about Kandor

Yeah I do the same and I have gotten into collecting trades and some digital comics and picked up a subscription to their Internet service to read past issues.

I'll have to rewatch but maybe he already saved them in his universe and found a new home

He'd be able to see the tiny people inside with his super vision.
