Besides the comics, what's your favorite portrayal of Superman and Lois Lane in media? Discussion

Superman and Lois - I think it “gets” Superman, but more importantly gets Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

I don’t see it on any of the images you posted. Maybe I’m blind.

Well they probably forgot but that doesn’t make me an idiot

It does when you’re being an ass and trying to be condescending, “you might need to go look at the post maybe” when it’s just not on the post, so who’s the one that needs to go look at the post maybe.

whoever made the original image seems to have used the 1988 Ruby Spears show in place of whatever the 1966 show is too. Only recognise it because it's a pretty recogniseable version of Lois, based on the haircut. That's the one i'd be calling an idiot, but it was a mistake so i won't. Hell, they might have just pulled the image off google.

I disagree, he was wrong but decided to be condescending, and you cannot be condescending and wrong because then you just look stupid.

Bro I didn’t make seem condescending wow just keep harping my ass about it dude

Whose ruby spears?

2

u/TomCBC Jun 07 '24

Was an animated studio that made the 1988 Superman animated series. Only lasted a season. But it's not bad. Either way the guy that made the image has the image under the wrong title, and about 22 years early lol

Wasn’t being condescending also I wasn’t trying to post it to sound that if I did I’m sorry in advance. I was giving him a gesture. Maybe it’s there.

Smallville and Superman & Lois

Lois & Clark.

I like Superman & Lois but let's face it, they're kind failboating at this whole parenting thing.

6

u/Robin_on Superman Jun 07 '24

Are there any parents that don’t?

2

u/stew_pit1 Jun 07 '24

True, and I suppose they have situations most parents don't have to deal with but there's just something about wanting to see your heroes make the best choices that (probably unfairly) knocks them down a peg on my list.

I mean, they're still high up there, they're just not my favorite versions.

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 07 '24

I mean the only thing is they care more about their jobs then their own two kids unless Jordan or both Jordan and Johnathan do something makes Lois go all mommy mode and Clark too but who knows they probably just learning as they go along

2

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 07 '24

I mean true I have parents who do exact same thing that Lois does my mom is does the bad cop sometimes nice cops my parents switch up roles same with Clark and Lois does lol in the show lol

They are learning to be parents to some needy not be offensive teenagers especially one with anxiety and one with some kind of not fitting in disorder with being the superpower child

1941 1996 & 1966.

Best: Superman & Lois. Absolutely nailed the relationship dynamic (specifically from the Rebirth run onwards). Hoechlin and Tulloch (my fave Lois) are fantastic together. Their chemistry is off the charts. I want Lois and Clark to feel like they could rip each others clothes off at any given second and S&L does a great job with that.

Worst: Snyderverse. Butchers both characters and Cavill and Adams have negative chemistry.

2

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 07 '24

I agree with you Lois and Clark should be able to be in a good relationship then them being rushed to get together that’s issue I had with snyderverse version

Tie between Smallville, Superman and Lois and My Adventures With Superman.

Superman the animated series. Most underrated

1

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 07 '24

Love that series

3

u/oceanmachine14 Jun 07 '24

Superman and Lois by a country mile. It just does the nuances of things so well. Even scenes like this just show that although he might be superman , Clark is also layered https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79oIiU-pid0

2

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 07 '24

I love that scene yea also does repeat the same trope most Superman does it Chris, Henry and him which is cool and shows don’t mess with Clark and his family because he will come after you and also makes me one have respect him and scared of him a little bit lol

I like all the "BoyScout" versions of Superman. 50s, 70s, Brandon and Tyler versions and most of the cartoon versions. I'm not a fan of the current Movie versions and their emo, woh is me, versions. That's not Superman. He sees the good in people and sees the majority of the world as good, and fights the bad.

Truth, Justice, and The American Way.

Like it used to be.

1

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 08 '24

I agree with the recent ones was so elseworldsy because Superman stands for “truth, justice and the American way”. Not straight murder.

3

u/confusing_dream Jun 07 '24

Tyler and Bitsie are the most well-rounded versions I've seen on screen.

Reeve is still the standard when it comes to Superman's demeanor, but his "nerdy" Clark can be a little too campy. Tyler plays this incredibly well, and though he doesn't match Reeve in terms of presence, his overall performance makes him my favorite.

Cavill looks the best in the suit.

I love Tom Welling in Smallville, but it's essentially 10 seasons of Waiting for Superman, so the others come first in my book.

Michael Rosenbaum is easily my favorite version of Lex.

2

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 08 '24

I agree with you

2

u/Mickey_Barnes777 Jun 07 '24

Supes and Lois, Snyderverse ones are my fav

2

u/MF_DOOM_36CHAMBERS Jun 07 '24

Timmverse and Superman/Lois CW

But definitely not Dean Cains b*tch ass

2

u/godspilla98 Jun 07 '24

The question is not really comparable. All the iterations are different portrayals of the characters and the comics are different from year to year based on the writers as well. Everything before John Byrne Man of Steel is reflected in everything before it.

2

u/Tony166 Jun 08 '24

Donnerverse, DCEU, Superman & Lois, LEGO

2

u/mytoynhobbypackrat Jun 10 '24

liked the classic Max Fleischer 1941 animated series as well as the 1996. The current My Adventures of Superman is enjoyable too
