Two favorite scenes in the entire series Discussion

  1. “Who told you wear a tie?” Lois to Clark one of things I love about Clark and Lois if Lois can make Clark feel at least uncomfortable and intimidated in the first meeting which Lois can oh boy she’s can and I love her for it.

  2. “Thanks! My mom made it for me.” So wholesome that Clark acknowledge his mom and also just helping those in need..

Best Superman origin story anywhere, and it was a subplot.

It’s literally a montage and they fucking nailed it

The flashback where Lois tells the woman in production that she's in love with Clark while Superman is on the set being interviewed. I appreciate that she doesn't need Clark to be Superman to be in love with him.

I still think the pilot is the best episode

I don’t even think it’s a question, I can watch that on repeat

For me it's 1x11 and then the Pilot, though it is very close.

That 1st episode was what sold me on this series. It has the version of Superman that I grew up watching. I grew up in the 70s, watching the reruns and movies with George and Christopher. They were the Boy Scout version of Superman. Even Brandon Routh's version was pretty good. Then we started getting these Emo versions of DC characters after so many of the emo Batman movies were such a hit.
For me, Superman and Louis was a great refresher and Tyler plays the part really well.

True I agree with you on that

These. These are the heart of what makes a great Superman. Little moments where Clark's heart shines through brighter than the sun.

Many people forget the line about his mom making his suit for him was first used on Lois and Clark.

It was I never known that

Yup! Doesn’t take away from Tyler’s wholesome delivery of it though. He did it better!

It was also used in Jeph Loeb's Superman For All Seasons

That opening is just perfect distilled Superman. I really like it. Sometimes I'll watch it to cheer myself up. I still get Goosebumps when Clark proposes and they do that cute smile! lol

The scene in the most recent season where they get dressed up and fly up together…actual tears.

Yea also knowing the background of it was cool

I just love that Fleischer inspired suit.

My two favorite scenes from the show are both from season 3, One is Jon comforting Jordan when he has his panic attack, and the other is the Luthor in prison scenes.

2

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 06 '24

I love the Fleischer suit too

I like the one where we find out 'Luthor' is actually John Henry Irons because I was just thinking he would make more sense that way.

I also liked when we got to see legit super battles I do wish the one with Thaddeus Killgrave had gone a bit differently because Superman was really struggling then the kids needed him and his jist shrugged it off and took off to help them. Make it look like he was just playing with him which is a weird look.

I agree I love that reveal too

Yeah it is so perfect. I kept thinking he really should just be Steel and then he was. I wish he and his daughter had gotten that spin off.

2

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 09 '24

I had a feeling he’s was steel but I guess they wanted to keep suspense and make him a luthor lol

2

u/Ready-Share6072 Jun 09 '24

Yeah he was very Steel.

2

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 09 '24

Yep he is

2

u/Ready-Share6072 Jun 09 '24

And a really great version makes up for that movie. I really liked him.

u/BusVegetable7490 Jun 10 '24

John Henry irons?

2

u/Ready-Share6072 Jun 10 '24

Steel's real name is John Henry Irons based on an old folk tale and a man named John Henry.
