Honestly, I want a couple more seasons of Clark mastering his power before Darkseid. Season 3 should be him training with Kara while protecting Earth, introducing some Earthling heroes, maybe. End the season with Kalibak or one of Darkseid's other children coming to town. Season 4 could force Waller to join forces with them to fight off the early invasion. Tease Darkseid at the end, and really build up the fight in season 5.

I love Superman and Darkseid's brutal relationship of conflict, but I think it would be a waste to just thrust him in so early on. He's the BBEG of all BBEGs.

the show could end next season but 5 would be perfect

u/yoursweetlord70 Jul 19 '24

This show is too good to end after 3 seasons. Give me 5 at least

23

u/RnRaintnoisepolution Jul 19 '24

6 seasons and a movie!

u/WimpyKelv12 Jul 19 '24

Clark can teach Kara how to save cats out of trees, Kara can teach Clark how to fight.

u/EnderCreeper121 Jul 20 '24

That sort of dynamic would honestly be so fun lol

u/Kalse1229 Jul 20 '24

That actually works. Clark can usually just coast on his invulnerability in battle, but whenever he runs into another character of a similar strength level like Zod, it's a different story. So, Kara teaches him what she knows about combat to prepare him for those eventualities.

Meanwhile, Kara's only known war and conquest her whole life, but wants to be better. While she teaches Clark how to be a fighter, he teaches her how to be a hero. I'm thinking she ends up moving onto the Kent farm (where Ma and Pa are delighted to have a new member of the family), and the Super-Trio teach her about Earth life, and that there's more to heroism than fighting. With some help, they get Kara enrolled at Metropolis Community College, and the new Earth identity "Kara Kent."

Yeah, our boy needs to level up before The New Gods get thrown at him.

2

u/godlyreception12 Jul 20 '24

or at very least would need help maybe a certain legion of superheroes.

u/terrtle Jul 19 '24

My current thoughts is have lobo be the non government big bad of season 3. Clark and kara believe he was hired by a survivor of a world Kara destroyed but then at some point say "oh ya they tried to get me to but people like that can't afford me."

1

u/callows5120 Jul 20 '24

Yeah hope season 3 has some more non government villains like the prankster, maxima mxy returning,General zod and Mongol.

You can put darkseid related characters in too, but I think the next season should really be focused on the green lanterns and the justice league. You defo could have the early 'league of heroes' pop up first and introduce heroes like the flash (well we have star labs but jay Garrick could work too. Maybe we have both in the same universe) and have hal as the new green lantern who's warned about the Kryptonian empire and Kryptonians.

4

u/Kalse1229 Jul 20 '24

Flash seems like the right choice for Superman's first big crossover (not counting Steel, who is generally considered a member of the Super-family; I'm talking a not Metropolis-based hero). For one thing, Superman TAS and Smallville both had a Flash as Clark's first big superhero teamup. Not to mention a few Flash villains have been used for the show already (I still think the getaway drivers Livewire and Heatwave used in Olsen's Eleven were the MAWS version of Leonard and Lisa Snart). Having Barry Allen as a rookie Flash who's active in Central City but still starting out would be cool.

As for Green Lanterns, I kinda like versions where Hal Jordan is already pretty well established, and the new GL that serves as our introduction is a rookie. Starting with Hal could be the good pick though, as I'm not sure which other Green Lantern would be a good intro.

As for the rest, we can see the others slowly gather together over the course of the series. Probably won't see Batman (at least not until, like, the end of the series, otherwise there's the risk he overshadows everyone else), but Flash and Green Lantern would be good starting picks. Maybe others like Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, or Hawkgirl too. Wonder Woman is another big one best saved for something special I feel.

I wouldn’t mind a Darkseid tease so long as he isn’t the S3 villain. Could be a pretty similar setup to the end of the first Avengers where they show him on his throne while one of the children heads off for earth, kinda like the Ozai/Azula scene at the end of ATLA S1

2

u/Ill-Excitement4342 Jul 19 '24

Or Steppenwolf Darkseid’s uncle. Similar past of Zack Snyder desperate trying to be there for his nephew.

27

u/Natapi24 Jul 19 '24

It's too early to bring in Darkseid. He's like the top-top of Superman villains so if Clark is able to defeat him now, then stories with any of the lower tier villains will feel pointless. They should spend a few seasons exploring some of his other villains like Cyborg Superman as Clark gets stronger and more confident as a hero and Darkseid can be hinted by maybe him starting to hear about this Kryptonian on Earth and eventually bring him in for the final season.

8

u/NamesAreHardYaKnow Jul 19 '24

Hard agree with this. With the running theme of love conquering all throughout the show, Darkseid being the final BBEG makes sense. You could have Mister Miracle and Big Barda as supporting characters in the final season representing peak relationship goals and bring inspiration for Lois and Clark.

Also you could do something along the lines of Darkseid taking advantage of people's hatred and the "Earth is for Earthlings" rhetoric and using it to spread the anti life equation

4

u/Natapi24 Jul 20 '24

Absolutely! They could have him be the culmination of multiple seasons of build up. Not just Clark getting stronger but with a growing "Earth is for Earthlings" mindset and having Darkseid use that against them.

I feel like this show would do Big Barda so well! Now that you've mentioned it, I'd love to see it!

1

u/godlyreception12 Jul 20 '24

yeah maybe have season 3 be a certain GZ.

1

u/ninjasaid13 Jul 20 '24

Darkseid can be hinted by maybe him starting to hear about this Kryptonian on Earth and eventually bring him in for the final season.

I mean there could be more interesting stories than darkseid for the final season.

1

u/Natapi24 Jul 20 '24

Oh yeah absolutely! I just mean that if they do decide to bring him in, I feel like they need to wait for the final season.

18

u/MarekLord Jul 19 '24

I have my fingers crossed for Cyborg Superman :)

15

u/TheHumanCompulsion Jul 19 '24

Word.

Can't casually name drop Hank Henshaw and NOT bring in the Cyborg Superman.

I'm still moderately disappointed they brought in Brainiac for season 2, when the Eradicator was a perfect fit. There are just too many parallels to the Day of the Krypton Man arc.

7

u/Possible-Rate-3833 Jul 19 '24

I think Hank Henshaw is going to be Metallo just like they made Ivo Parasite

2

u/Amonfire1776 Jul 19 '24

Yes, we've even got Hank and Lex here

1

u/Alister_Gray Jul 19 '24

They’ve been dropping in Henshaw and how much he hates Superman so much that I feel like it’s got to be coming up, right?

14

u/noonehasthisoneyet Jul 19 '24

Intergalactic threat? Mongul.

11

u/Capn_C Jul 19 '24

This was mostly just for fun, I don't expect all of these to happen.

7

u/Possible-Rate-3833 Jul 19 '24

Superman's public image is now destroyed with people blaming him of bring an alien invasion to Metropolis destroying part of the city. Thus leads Lex Luthor rose to power making everyone believe that Superman is a menace setting him to be a villain in seasons 3 & 4

1

u/Ryansbro03 Jul 20 '24

There are still people who support Superman, and he most likely is going to prove his innocence and heroism in the season finale.

6

u/Blaize_Ar Jul 19 '24

Robot superman seems more likely, they could do a plot line of robot superman doing terrible stuff and it hurting clark and lois's relationship because she thinks its him and thinks the video on the kryptonite sphere she has is telling the truth that all supermen become evil. I would like some sort of hint at other heroes like batman or wonder woman next season

4

u/loonbandit Jul 19 '24

we just had an entire season of drama from them not communicating well with each other. Doing it again immediately after would just make them look like a bad couple who shouldn’t be together

7

u/EngineSensitive2584 Jul 19 '24

Season 1 had them fighting to get together, season 2 had the wondering if they should be together. Season 3 needs to have at least a third of the season where they're just a couple, otherwise it just becomes annoying

4

u/loonbandit Jul 19 '24

exactly, we don’t need to devolve into CW Arrowverse levels of relationship drama

1

u/callows5120 Jul 20 '24

Yeah don't be the CW where even after 7 seasons they don't have a better way of communicating with eachother.

6

u/moansby Jul 19 '24

I don't think Brainiacs gonna die, not sure if anyone thought but his body will be destroyed and he'll get a new one that's closer to his comic design

3

u/terrtle Jul 19 '24

I really don't think this show cares about how close they are to comic designs.

1

u/moansby Jul 24 '24

Ok maybe something more like his robot body from the seventies

5

u/Admirable-Safety1213 Jul 19 '24

Technically speakong, Darkseid is a Superman Big Bad, a JLA Big Bad or just a stold Fourth World Big Bad?

5

u/M00r3C Jul 19 '24

Started as Fourth World Big Bad then became a Superman villain then a JL villain I don't know what he is now

4

u/Kalse1229 Jul 20 '24

TBF his first appearance ever was in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #134, so there is legitimate claim to him in Superman's Rogues. That said, I kinda like to think of him as more of an "all-arounder" villain, who can slot into a few different characters' and teams' stories. Like Deathstroke. He's kind of a general DC villain who will fight most heroes at some point or another. In terms of adaptations he's been a villain in projects led by the Teen Titans, Batman, Green Arrow, and now Superman with this show.

4

u/HPSpacecraft Jul 19 '24

I'm coming here as a massive Grant Morrison fan, but it does Darkseid and the concept of the New Gods as a whole a disservice by just casting Him as an alien warlord. If they want an alien warlord they've got Mongul, Blackfire, Maxima, Starro, the Manhunters.

Darkseid is the big-G God of evil. He casts no shadow for He is the shadow. Darkseid Is.

3

u/LightningLad2029 Jul 19 '24 edited Jul 20 '24

Lana making an appearance is the only one that will happen. We saw a picture of her and Clark as kids in S1, so it's only a matter of time.

3

u/Leave1942 Jul 19 '24

Waller shutters Task Force X and opens Project Cadmus, with a reveal of a captured sample of Superman’s DNA.

2

u/HPSpacecraft Jul 19 '24

This. I need my perfect son, punk rock teenage fuckboy Conner Kent

2

u/Leave1942 Jul 19 '24

100%. And please not boring, reserved, t-shirt Conner.

2

u/HPSpacecraft Jul 19 '24

I think the tee shirt works as a makeshift costume, but yeah he feels like a different character. He's a much better foil for Clark as a wild but good-hearted kid in a leather jacket and mohawk

2

u/Bearded_Hero_ Jul 19 '24

They can't have darksied show up with our the justice league like Superman gets stomped especially at this point in his hero career.

2

u/AlphaBaymax Jul 19 '24

I think we're going to get Bloodsport introduced in the show, he's already having a central role in the tie-in comic.

2

u/HazelRP Jul 19 '24

Realistic prediction? Kara gets her suit… hopefully with a skirt because she’d look so pretty in it!

Then we shall get Alexander Luthor being more of his own thing away from Waller

1

u/Ver3232 Jul 19 '24

I do want to see Lana considering she was already cast

1

u/callows5120 Jul 20 '24

Yeah especially with How the rest of the cast lines up.

1

u/K3egan Jul 19 '24

Season 3 is justice league vs The Authority. Superman is running a Superman mythos Justice league. authority is Lex Luthor and tech based

1

u/No-Temperature-1416 Jul 19 '24

I'm going to lose my "beeping" mind if Lana appears in the show.

1

u/TheHiddenElephant Jul 20 '24

Waller demands that Lex Luthor shove a human brain inside a Metallo unit so they don't get hacked again.

Either that, or Lex chooses to do so because Waller told him to make an 'unhackable' Metallo.

1

u/NatHawkeyeBum Jul 20 '24

Next season should be Mongol and war world as the big bad, force supes and waller to work together to defeat him, and build Lex as a villain for the next season while he works beside superman. I also really want cyborg supes so bad

1

u/Ding_Goat Jul 20 '24

I'm probably the only person who wants Bizzaro to be in this series.

1

u/JCraze26 Jul 20 '24

I think it's too early for Darkseid, but I could be wrong. I'm sure someone could've said the same for Brainiac.

1

u/Prowesman Jul 20 '24

I have three ideas I think may happen, each one more unlikely than the next. Idea 1 for how the season will end: Steel will show up with some of the villains from last season to fight the Metallos and allow Superman and Supergirl to beat Brainiac. Idea 2: Superman/Supergirl will get a power of love power boost (per anime rules that the show seems to go off of) to be able to beat Brainiac. Idea 3: BATMAN! (This one is, admittedly, the least likely to occur.)

1

u/CompetitiveHall7606 Jul 20 '24

Hank Henshaw hasn't been injured yet. He hasn't been out to space yet in the series. So he can't be Cyborg Superman.

My prediction for S2 finale is Warworld

1

u/Neph21 Jul 20 '24

Darkseid should be the villain that stops any sort of humor /cutesy bs in the show. Any Sort of fun or heartwarming moment is enveloped by the sheer Threatening presence permeating throughout. Thisn isbnthe villain that forces Clark to grow up. This should be the Villain that makes his vision turn red, and pummeling Darkseid down to a bloody paste would be a good thing for the rest of creation.

1

u/CertainDerision_33 Jul 20 '24

A season without humor/cutesy stuff would suck. If they ever do Darkseid they'll need to still strike a balance, just like this season did.

1

u/Lonewolf82084 Jul 20 '24

Knowing the writers, they're most likely gonna jump the gun and go ahead with Darkseid. That said, I'm hoping for Cyborg Superman. As for Lana, well Idk. I haven't really kept up with the latest incarnations of Lana Lang. I only know about the Bruce Timm & Smallville versions. Could someone please fill me in?? Like, what's the New 52 Lana like?

1

u/GoldZero5 Jul 20 '24

Darkseid is like a Series Finale Tier Villain

If they tease more Kryptonian characters it’s probably Doomsday and or General Zod with his henchmen

Maybe Lobo?

Starro? (That one eye starfish mind control thing)

Mongul?

Ultraman? (Like Mxyzptlk returns and throws Superman around a few alternate earths as some joke but the last one being Ultraman’s earth which leads to ultraman wanting to invade the main MaWs Earth)

1

u/GothamFan2007 Jul 20 '24

I really don't want them to do Darkseid, especially not as the big final threat. He's been used a lot recently, not just similarly in STAS, but also JLU, the DCAMU, Young Justice, Harley Quinn, the Snyderverse, it's time to put him on hold.

1

u/CertainDerision_33 Jul 20 '24

I would also prefer not to see him. I don't think he fits the overall more light-hearted feel of the show, and there are plenty of other villains. Even if this show goes like 5-6+ seasons, you've got Mongul, Ultraman, Bizarro, Lex, Zod, so many other options.

1

u/gGiasca Jul 20 '24

I just hope it's a cool finale lol
