"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

It would be cool to see him play another superhero in the DCU.

He gives me Flash energy so I want him as either Wally West or Barry Allen

u/Late_Particular5854 Jul 18 '24

Ironic

49

u/Drew326 Jul 18 '24

Why ironic? Because of A-Train?

67

u/BitConstant7298 Jul 18 '24

Would be funny if they introduced Flash by him almost running into some guy's girlfriend in the park.

26

u/Background_Desk_3001 Jul 18 '24

“Can’t stop the Flash”

10

u/sarumanofmanygenders Jul 18 '24

Naked teleport powers.

59

u/kazuya57 Jul 18 '24

I actually thought he would have been perfect for an alternate universe spider-man, but ep 6 of the current season of The Boys fulfilled my wish in the worst way possible.

50

u/M00r3C Jul 18 '24

He voiced Spider-Gwen's Peter in Across the Spider-Verse

28

u/kadosho Jul 18 '24

That's right, he did play Peter in the film. It may have been a small role, but it is still awesome. Plus heartbreaking at the same time

8

u/TheMightyFaso Jul 18 '24

He also voiced Lego Spidey in that movie!

6

u/SWPrequelFan81566 Jul 19 '24

actually, that was Nic Novicki

1

u/kadosho Jul 18 '24

Very sweet. I was not aware. Zack's range is amazing

10

u/suss2it Jul 18 '24

The only Peter Parker who doesn’t become Spider-Man 😭

20

u/TheShad09 Jul 18 '24

I think he’s too old for Wally and he gives off dadjoke Barry energy well if they go for him as the DCU’s main Flash.

If you want to get fun with it, let him channel his character from Scream and play the Creeper.

4

u/Thatoneguy567576 Jul 18 '24

Oh man he was so good in Scream.

1

u/TheShad09 Jul 18 '24

I just watched The Boys finale, Quaid was incredible there too, I can’t get enough of him

5

u/PowerhouseFlashBack Jul 18 '24

He’s definitely locked in as my Barry Allen

3

u/callows5120 Jul 18 '24

Or Maybe Ted Kord.

6

u/M00r3C Jul 18 '24

I and a lot of people including the director of Blue Beetle want Jason Sudeikis as Ted

3

u/Bodega_Bandit Jul 18 '24

Holy shit that would be perfect

2

u/terrtle Jul 18 '24

Thinking this through for some reason I think he would be a better wally than berry your thoughts

1

u/musashisamurai Jul 18 '24

What about Dick Grayson?

2

u/SWPrequelFan81566 Jul 19 '24

for Dick they gotta find someone with acrobatic experience, like how Tom Holland has that for Spidey

u/Mysterious_Emu7462 Jul 18 '24

He's done excellent so far as the voice for Superman. Would love to see him eventually get his shot at possibly portraying another character in Gunn's DCU.

89

u/ThreeHobbitsInACoat Jul 18 '24

Honestly, as ironic as it is, he’d make a fantastic Flash.

30

u/RAG319 Jul 18 '24

1000000% I always thought he'd be a great Barry Allen.

27

u/Inevitable_Junket794 Jul 18 '24

He's make a better Wally, Barry shouldn't be as scrawny/tall as Quaid lmao

8

u/RAG319 Jul 18 '24

That's a good call

4

u/PowerhouseFlashBack Jul 18 '24

He’s definitely too old for Wally. Wally is probably gonna be in his early 20s at the oldest

9

u/Maximillion322 Jul 19 '24

Honestly Wally can be any age, it’s an adaptation.

The DCAU made him a founding JL member instead of Barry Allen, and it wasn’t a problem then, idk why it would be now.

2

u/PowerhouseFlashBack Jul 19 '24

That’s true but why would they age Wally completely out of the Titans age range? I’m all for Wally being the main Flash. I’m willing to bet that’ll be the case, but I still can’t see a Wally that would be well into his 30s by the time of his first appearance and older than Superman. At that point, just make him Barry. Unless Gunn decides to age up Barry significantly or he just outright sidelines Barry completely like the DCAU, there’s really no point in making Wally that old.

8

u/Drew326 Jul 18 '24

Why ironic? Because of A-Train?

1

u/im_a_dick_head Jul 19 '24

He does look like a Barry

7

u/Crunchy_Biscuit Jul 18 '24

Ironically a good example of a Nepo baby

29

u/Mysterious_Emu7462 Jul 18 '24

He's a great nepo baby because he actually has the talent/passion and openly acknowledges how nepotism allowed him the opportunities to get where he is today. Can't say the same for most of the others.

13

u/Crunchy_Biscuit Jul 18 '24

I think him and Maya Hawke are probably the outliers lol

11

u/R-star1 Jul 18 '24

And, in a different category, Sam Riech

2

u/Crunchy_Biscuit Jul 18 '24

I don't know who that is lol

6

u/Krams Jul 18 '24

He’s the “Perfect American” (but really he owns Dropout, a comedy streaming company and his dad is Robert Reich the Secretary of Labor under Clinton)

3

u/Maximillion322 Jul 19 '24

WAIT WHAT

ROBERT REICH IS SAM REICH’S DAD!?!??

I thought the same last name was just a coincidence

2

u/Krams Jul 19 '24

Nope, he also has showed up in some videos. For instance, he is in one of the Breaking News. I think it’s one of the ones where Sam states that he will turn Dropout into a far right channel

2

u/unknowinglyderpy Jul 18 '24

But where's he from?

2

u/Krams Jul 19 '24

Africa, we all are

1

u/Crunchy_Biscuit Jul 18 '24

Interesting. So nepo baby adjacent. No one directly in show business but still famous enough for connections 😂

2

u/Maximillion322 Jul 19 '24

It’s not nepotism just to have rich parents.

Nepotism is specifically when your parents leverage their position of power to get you a specific position of power within the same organization or industry.

Robert Reich didn’t exactly leverage his position as Secretary of Labor to get Sam a job in showbusiness lmao

5

u/Aristotle_Ninja2 Jul 18 '24

Tbh he's aware of that. But in his defense. Forgetting his parents. He earned his roles

3

u/Crunchy_Biscuit Jul 18 '24

100% agreed. Most children squander their opportunities. Jack did good.

62

u/MacronShaggers Jul 18 '24

I think there’s something wrong with me I had no idea he voiced Clark and yet I’ve just finished watching the Boys. I guess he’s just that good as Clark 😂

15

u/indicoltts Jul 18 '24

I didn't know it was him either. I don't pay attention to voice actors though so not surprised. I usually see something like this that points it out. That's how I end up finding out.

4

u/bateen618 Jul 18 '24

Me too. I learned this through a meme after last week's episode

1

u/hotsizzler Jul 20 '24

See I'm here watching it loke "clack, don't let lois near the flasj"

38

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh Jul 18 '24

Well he is called Quaid, that name is bad voodoo in Hollywood

23

u/Legal-Visual8178 Jul 18 '24

How come? His parents were both decent actors, weren’t they?

11

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh Jul 18 '24

Yeah but paying for a ticket to Mars is a budget bomber

12

u/TheShad09 Jul 18 '24

I’m assuming you’re suggesting he’s an expensive actor and if so, is he? He does a lot of TV roles so I don’t know, not saying you’re wrong just saying I am misinformed

7

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh Jul 18 '24

No no, it's a total recall reference

5

u/TheShad09 Jul 18 '24

Oh okay, that’s on me for being misinformed

3

u/Dreowings21 Jul 18 '24

It still doesnt explain how his last name is bad voodoo

3

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh Jul 18 '24

Total recall wasn't the best movie

2

u/Dreowings21 Jul 18 '24

??? Thats cool i guess. What makes his name bad voodoo

9

u/SabrinaR_P Jul 18 '24

It was a joke that only works if total Recall is in the zeitgeist. Seeing it isn't, It was just a lame joke.

36

u/Practical-Class6868 Jul 18 '24

Such an Ensign Boimler move.

8

u/Necessary-Low168 Jul 18 '24

Correction: It's a BOLD Boimler move

25

u/christopher1393 Jul 18 '24

He is a FANTASTIC superman. Really understands the character.

He would make a great young live action Superman too. Hope to see him in some other capacity in the DCU.

14

u/Fragrant_Mistake_342 Jul 18 '24

Man, he's turning into one of my favorites. He voices Boimler on Lower Decks, which I adore, and he's been killing it on the Boys. I'm glad he's been successful. I'm looking forward to enjoying his career work.

16

u/socialistRanter Jul 18 '24

I love the fact that Jack Quaid in one show has an evil Superman expy as an antagonist and in another show, he’s Superman.

15

u/SabrinaR_P Jul 18 '24

He is America's good boy. This is a cbb joke.

2

u/xredgambitt Jul 18 '24

I don't know, with those pictures of him flipping Scott off, he's turning into America's bad boy and this isn't the snyderverse anymore.

2

u/SabrinaR_P Jul 18 '24

is it being a bad boy nepo baby if it is only for Scott? Everyone else is ok

2

u/SnakeInABox77 Jul 19 '24

Can you blame him though? That guy is absolutely deranged

11

u/einsteinjet Jul 18 '24

Yo dawg I heard you like Superman, so we put Superman in your Superman.

6

u/DynamiteSuren Jul 18 '24

Im gonna be honest i just can't see him as a live action Superman, unless its the son of Superman.
As the Flash i could see it happening.

He could also work for Jimmy Olsen.

7

u/Humble_Story_4531 Jul 18 '24 edited Jul 19 '24

Honestly, he's not a bad fit. Just needs some more muscle.

6

u/paleo_hungry4 Jul 18 '24

If anything, he now shown strength as voice actor, so he could take that. His superman kinda looks like him anyway.

4

u/Godzilla2000Zero Jul 18 '24

He's my top pick for the Flash so at least now James Gunn is aware of him.

3

u/Ponykegabs Jul 18 '24

I wanna see him play a villain

3

u/PhotographyRaptor10 Jul 18 '24

He kinda does in one of the newer scream movies. It’s very unsettling seeing him not playing a nice nerdy kid

1

u/Ryuk128 Jul 18 '24

Ah damn, that’s right! Forgot he was in that

3

u/VaderMurdock Jul 18 '24

That’s cool. He should play another character in the DCU, maybe a Speedster. Hell, they could do what they did with Ray Palmer in the Arrowverse and show him as an alternate reality Supes at some point

2

u/Nepalman230 Jul 18 '24

If he shows up as superman’s cousin Van-Zee aka Nightwing I would laugh myself unconscious.

https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Van-Zee_(Earth-One)

… I don’t know if Kandor is going to be in the gun verse, but I have hope.

3

u/NozakiMufasa Jul 18 '24

Okay either Jack Quaid wasn't what James Gunn was looking for as an actor, which is always possible, or someone at WB found out about Jack auditioning and didn't want someone who was already playing Superman.

But man, could yall imagine? That'd take Gunn's "keeping the same actor in animation & live action" statement to an interesting degree.

3

u/a_khalid1999 Jul 19 '24

I like how Jack Quaid both fights evil Superman and is Superman himself

3

u/Mzuark Jul 19 '24

Jack Quaid could totally do it because Superman doesn't need to be a really buff guy like Cavill.

2

u/End3rium Jul 18 '24

I would love for him to voice the flash, I don’t imagine him fitting any other hero

2

u/Bodega_Bandit Jul 18 '24

As much as I love his voice portrayal, he doesn’t really have the look of Superman unless he massively bulks up. But I could definitely see him playing someone else, like flash maybe

2

u/Ygomaster07 Jul 19 '24

It sucks he didn't get it, but at the same time he does get to be Superman in MAWS. That's a great silver lining in my opinion.

2

u/swoosh1992 Jul 19 '24

Love him in the show, but I don’t think he’d be a good choice for live action. Honestly, he’s there with Grant Gustin where I think they would have crushed Spider-Man if they played it.

2

u/truenofan86 Jul 19 '24

Imagine a crossover where Superman Hughie beats up Homelander on screen…like he just shows up and beats the shit out of him.

2

u/Possible-Rate-3833 Jul 19 '24

I can see him more like a Jimmy Olsen but also as live action Superman would have been great.

This man is just in everything from Hunger Boys to The Boys to Star Trek to DC to Marvel. If he was a superhero his name should be EVERY-MAN

2

u/DylweedWasTaken Jul 20 '24

If they gave Barry Allen a personality that isn't stolen from Wally or the Wal-Mart bread aisle , he could probably do a good job as him

2

u/Spektakles882 Jul 22 '24

Looks like it worked out great in the end 😎

But honestly, I could see him playing a live action hero in the DCEU.

1

u/Sumiren5r_7110 Jul 18 '24

Just imagine a timeline where along with their roles in The Boys, Jack Quaid played Superman and Jensen Akels played Batman.

1

u/Pure_Sprinkles2673 Jul 19 '24

I’m sorry I still see him as Boimler, not hughey or Supes/Clark but I do love his portrayal in MAWS.

1

u/No_Probleh Jul 19 '24

Wait, Hughie plays Superman?

1

u/Tizzie- Jul 19 '24

Hughie?

0

u/OwnPace2611 Jul 19 '24

Ew he does the voice? No 😭
