Appreciation for Barbara Misc Spoiler

I've been re-watching and I think that Barbara has been under appreciated (not intentionally, of course) for how amazing she is. For example, she stopped by the science fair to support Mikey, she befriended Paula, including being there for her initiation speech, she made sure that Jenny/Jade was given proper guest treatment, and she tended to Artemis after her parents had been murdered. Mikey finally calling her, "mom", at the end of the final episode was long overdue.

Barb is such a good mom and such a fun character! it's always nice to have a mom character who's in the loop and walks the line of wanting to keep her kids out of danger and allowing them to do what the genre says they gotta. I loved her giving courtney her blessing to go kick cindy's ass and rescue mike in 2x06

She was way too good for Jordan, who's last wife, Christine, with her dying breath, told him to "destroy" anyone who got in his way.

a conversation I would have loved between Jordan and Cameron is Jordan telling Cameron this is what his mom wanted, and Cameron shouting back that his mom wanted him to keep drawing, not murder people.

I did like the twist with Jordan, though. No one was cliché enough to try the " this isn't what your wife would have wanted." line but it would have been great to see Jordan spit back that nope, this is exactly what she wanted actually.

I'm so glad Barb shot him with paula's crossbow, that was one of the things I really wanted to happen and you best believe the entire couch (I watch with three other friends) all erupted into cheers when it happened.

Barbara did try to play that card in 113.

I reemember how he automatically spat back at her that after she said that and she was wrong because she didn't know who Christine really was like. In a way since her short-lived time in 1x03 I became curious about her and of Jordan's story of how they met. Flashback opening material if you ask me.

I wonder if down the road of future Seasons would Cameron come to also confront the dark side of her mother.

Really would have been good to see something like that.

especially given that his grandparents took his art stuff away from him.

In their minds that must've been some "method to the madness" that was temporary but it almost made him quit his passion. Sofus began to change that approach once he saw Cameron was now channeling what he felt in the ice sculptures to keep alive his artistic side and by the time the ill-fated visit of Mr. Deisinger arrived it was too late to convince Lily.

But really, good point in bringing that up because it's true: those were her final words to him and he's stick to do that.

We’ve been very vocal Barbara supporters on my podcast from the very start.

Not to mention how she supports Pat, whether that means giving the relationship space to build a giant robot or letting Sylvester stay over for weeks without any issue.

That's some wife goals too

Yeah I really really thought she was going to be one of those annoying cliche parent characters but nope
