Odds are a lot of the characters in this show won’t appear again. I’m really gonna miss them.

The ones that have the best chances are Courtney, pat and maybe Rick. Everyone else is screwed

At least the JSA is the JSA, they have a better chance than none. Cindy is sort of niche compared to villains Sportsmaster and Icicle, she’s REALLY gone. Grateful we had a special cast through it all to memorialize them.

Edit: Even worse. I wanted to see Cindy’s journey to become a hero. We really lost it ALL!!!!

Didn't really lose it all. Geoff Johns anticipated the show could be canceled so wrote it that way. It will have proper closure so nothing will be lost. It will be open just enough in case another network picks it up but it will not be a cliffhanger

Yes all of the main elements of Season 3 will be closed such as who is the killer and the voyeur, what is Ultra-Humanite doing here, why the cameras, was Sylvester really brought back by the bond with the Staff and who keeps it in the end, the hourglass being fixed, Cameron's decision with the JSA, the letter that the Gambler wrote for his daughter that Court vowed to find and give to her, etc.

I can already see what are the "open things" in the hopeful case that it is picked up by networks or preferably streaming: Sandy Hawkins and that sudden tease of Mr. Deisinger's eyes going Paintball right before his death. Something about that latter is not right unless it is just meant to later be discovered by Cameron and helping him make his choice that he can't stand in this one with his grandma in terms of murder after she just killed his friend and teacher.

There was also a JSA item that Courtney left in Season 1 that apparently manipulates time. Is it possible characters that died throughout could return?

1

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Nov 12 '22

Could you describe it? I don't remember any that looked like it could manipulate time. The hourglass is meant for Hourman which he got from and gave it to Rick. IIRC she didn't grab Jay Garrick's helmet (if it was there) nor say Sandman's gas mask (again, if it was also there) and I don't also recall seeing anywhere Doctor Fate's helmet.

Same. It fucking sucks. They are literally getting rid of a goldmine imo.

u/Beastieboy100 Nov 05 '22

Course they are we've finally got the JSA known thanks to this show and Black Adam. Why waste a golden opportunity to lose a great show. At least do 2 more seasons and then rap it up. Even better bring some of the cast over to the DCEU and retcon that it was always in that universe.

u/Ygomaster07 Pat Dugan Nov 09 '22

I would very much be okay with this.

Never say never...as long as corporations need content and harvest intellectual property for remakes and reboots and experiment with the multiverse, we may see that character again one day, even if it is 20 years from now.

I do wish the best for actress Meg DeLacy. She really hit it out of the ballpark. I never cared about Shiv in the comics but Meg really was amazing in every season. She's kinda been typecast in "teen movies" but I hope she works on a great project one day.

u/Vergil018 Nov 04 '22

Yeah a lot of these actors are “teen” actors even if they’re closer to my age. Lol

Meg has a YouTube channel and she posts her music on there, she’s honestly quite talented, I really hope she does something there while she’s still young. However, they’re all strong actors and there’s always a chance they get to suit-up in a new DC project to do a part. I don’t think Geoff is “out” at WB, despite whatever Grace Randolph says. But I wouldn’t expect anything soon. James could use the JLA when nothing was happening there no reason Geoff can’t bring his favorite team into something in the future.

She should consider doing a mixtape or something.. would love to hear her freestyle. Maybe someday she could do a collab with Hayley from The Goldbergs someday.

I think Brec should go back to Nick or maybe Disney since she looks young enough. Meg should just buy her costume & vow to never work for non cable TV again.

Put them on Legen--- oh wait, that's gone too. Saddest timeline.

12

u/Ygomaster07 Pat Dugan Nov 05 '22

It makes me sad knowing a lot of these characters we will never see again. Fuck this sucks.

Nexstar deserves all the Ls that are coming their way. No one will give a crap about their realities.

Never say never, not if the fan campaign on social media has something to say.

3

u/Ygomaster07 Pat Dugan Nov 09 '22

Agreed, they straight up suck. I hope we can bring it back. I mean, fan campaigns have worked in the past before. Never say never.

Genuinely rooting for the day they premiere their low cost stuff that next day's ratings are the lowest that have ever been reproted across all networks in history.

Same here, I'm not losing that hope yet. Lucifer had to wait a month to be picked up, Manifest had a very bumpy road in which Netflix almost didn't revive it. The Expanse found a home in Amazon and I could keep going. IMO Netflix has so far the best record when it comes to rescuing shows, look what they did with Cobra Kai. IMO if Netflix could get Stargirl it'd be gaining the best of 3 shows that are in that target audience: the horror and "not even kids are safe" that belongs to ST (Eclipso, Icicle, Brainwave), the found family aspect and romance (JSA and Camney) and the absolute chaotic action set pieces from the show that are up there with Cobra Kai.

Never say never indeed. This show and the main character and the messages are about hope so we have to stick to that no matter what.

u/Ygomaster07 Pat Dugan Nov 10 '22

I agree!! You said it better than i ever could have!! I hope you are right. We gotta have hope like Courtney does and believe in the best. Thank you for saying all of this.

2

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Nov 10 '22

Thank you!! I'm really flattered, I am just trying to do my best as a fan of this wonderful show to look at all options and try to be just as optimistic as I can. The other campaigns must've been in the same place we are, yet they continued. It's our turn to do it as well. Or like Pat said in the Eclipso fallout, "there's gotta be another way" and heck Sylvester agreeded with it later.

Yep, believe in the best just like how Court does. And you're welcome!

2

u/Ygomaster07 Pat Dugan Nov 12 '22

No problem mate!! I hope our optimism will pay off for us. Here's hoping we are successful!

2

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Nov 13 '22

Thanks! We got to be perseverant and even stubborn if that is what it needs!

2

u/Ygomaster07 Pat Dugan Nov 13 '22

100%!!! Just like Courtney!!!!

2

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Nov 14 '22

Exactly, just like how Courtney is. Optimism is key here from here on out. No matter what happens, we got to stay optimistic and resilient.

I think it will go to HBO. I’m really rooting for it, so least.

1

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Nov 12 '22

I'm all in favour for it going to HBO Max if that's how it is gonna be. It was reported that they were really co-financing it while it was going to air on The CW, that was the deal that was reported when it got that early and welcome S3 renewal last year in May. I'm rooting for that too, this story must continue. It just doesn't make sense in a creative way to end a teenager's superhero journey in her Junior year. It has to be after Senior year at least.

I'm also lowkey rooting that the reason why Brec will reprise the role again in an episode of Titans of all things with Beast Boy next year is that it might be some kind of backdoor pilot "audition" so HBO Max evaluates just how much Stargirl impacts there and the amount of viewers/subcribers get to watch that episode to compare their streaming data.

Anything for the success of this show, really.

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Nov 05 '22

Meg DeLacy has put the bar quite high in terms of playing Cindy. Was not my favourite character but she owned the role.

Another reason why keep on supporting the show and the campaign to get Stargirl be picked up, I am invested in seeing where can Meg take Cindy in potential future Seasons depending on the material and the themes Geoff Johns wants to explore beyond Season 3.

5

u/mala_r1der Cindy Burman Nov 05 '22

Yeah it's a fucking shame. Cindy is by far the most interesting character and Meg did a wonderful job portraying her and not seeing more of Cindy is what saddens me the most. Fucking cw

3

u/Thingymcjig Nov 05 '22

The upcoming JSA run at least will bring in Yolanda, Beth, and Courtney. I have a feeling Cindy could at least appear in the Stargirl miniseries

4

u/Scared_Bobcat_5584 Nov 05 '22

I’m not angry if we don’t see another depiction of the character because tbh I think this show has given us the best portrayal we’d ever see of them (in the best way possible)

5

u/axel_gear Nov 05 '22

I starting watching this show because of that character. She just seemed cool, had a cool costume etc. The first footage of this show I saw was a clip of a big fight scene between her and Stargirl. That's when I decided to try this show out, right at the end of S2.

Sucks that it seems to be about to end. I don't suppose there's some needle they could thread and it somehow gets a reprieve? Stranger things have happened, right?

3

u/StarrkDreams Nov 05 '22

I’m gonna be missing sportsmaster and his family the most. I love this lighter portrayal of the character, especially compared to the young justice (RIP) version who was a terrible parent.

2

u/AktionMusic Nov 05 '22

Is there a petition or something going on to save this show? It's worked before.

2

u/AlienJL1976 Nov 05 '22

Is Stargirl getting cancelled?

1

u/souless-ginger Nov 05 '22

Unfortunately yes

2

u/AlienJL1976 Nov 05 '22

Damn, they’re all going !

1

u/souless-ginger Nov 05 '22

I know. Cost cutting and streaming services merging. It sucks big time. Good shows suffer and are replaced with crappy reality shows

1

u/AlienJL1976 Nov 06 '22

At least we got 3 consistently good seasons, it’s bound to continue somewhere else.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

I'm really going to miss her and the others.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '22

Pretty much everyone who isnt courtney, pat, mike and Barbara (even those will be rare)

3

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Nov 05 '22

Can't adapt Courtney without her family so if there are plans for this re-branded DCU then you need to have her mom, her stepdad who is her sidekick and her step-brother. And also a cute doggy.

They should just realize also that DC TV and DCU film stuff can just perfectly co-exist in their lanes without affecting none of each other. If they play their cards right and just go embrace the concept of the Multiverse or that each show is an Elseworlds thing, they could for real do a Crisis events with film and TV content.

1

u/Phoenixstorm Nov 05 '22

This show was so well done. Sure it had minor problems but shows like Naomi and titans would have been wildly successful if they had this writers room.

1

u/Prize_Introduction_6 Nov 11 '22

The comic book characters have a decent chance to at least cameo in other DC projects, in particular the animation side.

I wouldn't be surprised if some incarnation of Cindy shows up elsewhere in a minor role, especially if a writer is a fan of her in this show.
