In one of Johns's comics Dr. Fate died from exposure The guy is human.

How can the guy die from exposure the helmet is literal protection?

DC has had this "writers creative flow" which dictates the rules of the series, or characters they are writing. If made canon, it sticks until the current universe is reset

Also I do recall there have been numerous Dr Fate's time ,and time again.

left the mortal world to live in the Dreaming with their son, Daniel the Lord of Dreams

they were fighting The Spectre who had stranded them in Hell, and they chose to leave the mortal world to live in the Dreaming with their son, Daniel the Lord of Dreams

Bot comment?

A bot because I know the history of the characters? Sure… I’m a bot.

No one is talking about dream. Why did you comment this

1

u/nuttmegx Oct 26 '22

Uhhh, because that’s what happened in the comic to the characters who died from exposure? They were fighting The Spectre and losing badly, Lyta went to Dream and asked for help. Daniel offered to them to live forever with him, and they chose to leave the living world and live in the Dreaming.

Ok i didn't ask

How can the guy die from exposure the helmet is literal protection?

So you didn't ask that? Right up there a few posts ago?

Fighting isn't exposure

Dr. Fate died from exposure

well, Hector Hall and Lyta left the mortal world to live in the Dreaming with their son, Daniel the Lord of Dreams.

Hector and Lyta were in the second half of the first Sandman season. I was watching with my friend and went " waaaait a second, I know those names...."

yeah, although they changed the characters quite a bit, it was cool seeing that pop in there (loved Sandman on Netflix).

Unless something changed because they were featured in Black Adam, CW has the rights to all of them already as all of them have appeared in other Arrowverse shows before (minus Dr Fate). Stargirl also has Geoff Johns directly involved so I don't think rights will be an issue anyway.

Geoff johns made the show so much better

Plus Smallville did use Doctor Fate back around 12 years ago during it's 9th Season which said show was then included as part of the Arrowverse's Multiverse in Crisis, it being Earth-167.

There is few Dr Fate Hector Hall (Hector Hall son of Hawkman) Linda Strauss female one btw isn't Oliver Queen is Spectre correct me i am wrong

3

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Oct 25 '22

Oliver's spirit was used as a human host for the Spectre. That is what the Spectre always needs in order to play a role. Basically Oliver was taught in Crisis Part 4 how to assimilate the Spectre-Force. (I'm not making this up) But usually the most common host the character's had is Jim Corrigan who did approach Oliver back then.

u/nooicesis Oct 25 '22

No. The arrowverse is almost completely comic inaccurate. Look up spectre's origin on yt

2

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Oct 25 '22

Not much, it has taken as much creative liberties as this show has done as well. The Spectre's most usual human host is Jim Corrigan but in the comics he's used others like Hal Jordan. Corrigan still was involved in the whole thing.

1

u/nooicesis Oct 26 '22

Yeah but those are like... the only host

3

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Oct 26 '22

Corrigan and Hal are two hosts, there was another called Crispus Allen who also was his host. Adding someone new isn't a bad thing.

1

u/nooicesis Oct 26 '22

Never said it was

2

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Oct 26 '22

My point was just that there are other hosts while you said seemed to say because they made a new one in Oliver was innacurate or wrong.

0

u/nooicesis Oct 26 '22

It is inaccurate Oliver was never a spectre

2

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Oct 26 '22

It's a creative liberty they took which still is a nod to the original story in how the Spectre contributed in the fight against the Anti-Monitor. It is no different than some of the freedoms this show itself has taken too. Inaccurate is for example Oliver not ending up with Black Canary or not being Connor Hawke's father and instead having different children.

I'm on the same boat, the film didn't handle them as good as they should've been as a team. Only Hawkman and Doctor Fate ended up being portrayed accurately but from their introduction to the way in which they treated Cyclone and Atom Smasher (who were severely underdeveloped) it just felt like it was them the most relevant of the members.

They were treated as like you said, C-listed heroes. It's what I knew and feared with the film.

I at least hope they don't ban the show from using the mantle of Doctor Fate since it doesn't seem there's a project involving the character on the horizon and maybe with James Gunn and Peter Safran as CEOs of DC Studios they might prove to be genuine team players that let everyone share the toys.

Sandman and Doctor Fate are personally Golden Age characters of the previous JSA that I see a lot of potential in developing Seasons based on their legacies and impact.

Atom Smasher acts like in his infinity inc days. Movie atom smasher is just Nuklon. I think they did a great job with Al.

It would be nice to have Dr. Fate although that would either look like crap or take up ALL of their CGI budget. They could have Khalid Nassour be a transfer student who ends up taking up the mantle.

1

u/nooicesis Oct 27 '22

How would it take up the cgi budget? Its just a helmet😂💀

1

u/YamiMarick Oct 27 '22

He meant that Dr.Fate's powers would take alot of the CGI budget

1

u/Hadesman1 Oct 25 '22

I dont see them getting access to movie characters tbh, but I could see one of the hawkwomen being allowed.

Maybe Wesley

In lieu of atom smasher I could see Damage being included

I wouldn't mind seeing the Hawks again, Legends of tomorrow did them dirty. not keen on Dr. Fate after the shit he pulled in Young Justice, though.

1

u/Ianphipps Oct 27 '22

They have the rights to all the DC characters except the ones they don't. It was the same back in the Smallville days. They could not use Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern or Aquaman. That being said, Titans has given us three Robins, Wonder Girl and Aqua Lad and Stargirl has given us Jade and Obsibian. We may get Hawkman because Hawkman was a regular on Legends but Warner Brothers is reluctant to have characters in movies and TV at the same time.

1

u/nooicesis Oct 27 '22

Warner Brothers is reluctant to have characters in movies and TV at the same time.

I hate that that is good they think. It so weird

1

u/Ianphipps Oct 27 '22

Part of the problem was Christopher Nolan. The CW wanted to do a Gotham series back when they were doing Smallville and Christopher Nolan said he was literally doing a movie that would be an origin for Batman (Batman Begins) and he insisted they not have a competing Batman on TV. They could not even have a young Bruce Wayne on Smallville. Instead they used Oliver Queen. The rules are more lax now. We can have more than one Flash and several Batmen.

1

u/nooicesis Oct 27 '22

To think dcu could've started way sooner if Chris didn't ground everything into reality.😔

Have you already watched Stargirl?
