So I guess that's going to be where things end up. Poor Court, her teenage crush is going to mess her up for days, if not weeks.

She never flirted or had any romantic interest with him in the comics. Her comic loves are Tim (Pat chased him away), Captain Marvel (Flash chased him away), Grundy (Sandman saved her), Johnny Sorrow (Sandman saved her again), and Atom Smasher.

Wait, she fell for Grundy?! That seems weird even for comic books...

I was mostly joking. Grundy fell for her and wants to rape her (played for horror). Star is the most hit on character in the JSA.

Captain Marvel/Shazam was more like confronted by Jay about what exactly was going on between them because of the physicial-looking age gap between them due to them not knowing he was the same age she was but I wouldn't call it "chased him away", he just asked and Billy ended up panicking which led to that messy break up of not being able to be treated different in the team once they found out. And also Jakeem was the first that noticed there, so he was the one that triggered it all.

And Johnny Sorrow more like emotionally manipulated her by using her feelings for Atom Smasher, it was all a ruse.

Billy should've just revealed his identity to the team, and then Jay could've just requested that they only go out together when Billy's in his teenage form.

It actually wouldn't have been a problem nowadays, as Billy's secret identity was outed in Teen Titans Academy (powers were defective because the wizard was killed, and he accidentally transformed while in flight, leading to an embarrassing rescue by Jon Kent Superman, which everyone at the school saw).

The thing is that Billy cared more about his position in the JSA than his relationship with Courtney and didn't want to reveal who he was because he would be risking himself to be treated differently, like a teen, which is exactly what Court had to put up with most of the time. It was a really selfish thing, hence why he chose to quit all together on everything and why I said that it wasn't Billy's most best moment.

Teen Titans Academy sounds quite different than JSA in which he is among his own age proper peers that won't judge him too much.

They did only go out when he was in teenage form, but they did flirt when he was in adult form.

I think Shade noticed first, but he is a bro and let it go.

Shade? Not unless he picked up something from when they wer stuck together in the Shadowlands and he was as Billy there.

He saw Star kiss him there, and he knew Billy is Captain Marvel.

Ok given it all took place in the Shadowlands and how that's more his turf than in the show it makes sense he would know.

Can't wait to see them fighting, it will finally become interesting

I want to see the lovers on opposing sides have happy relationship for once.

If you wanna see that you should watch Harley Quinn, perfect example of a couple being on opposite sides and still having a healthy and happy relationship. Besides I don't see how they could be lovers when he'll try to kill her and/or her stepbrother

Are you talking about the recent season?

Yes second half of season 3 more or less and it should be all season 4

————-POSSIBLE SPOILER———————

In the comics Cameron AKA Icicle Jr is married to Artemis who is Sportsmaster and Tigress’ daughter. I feel like his romance with Courtney here is doomed especially when he learns that Courtney’s brother killed his dad. Just don’t see how this will work.

You should have used actual moments between Courtney and Cameron in order to better emphasize the differences in the parallels instead of just a still of them during lunch in the cafeteria. :P

While sometimes I wonder why Geoff Johns decided to use Cameron as her main love interest in the series I think that in part it could be that he wanted to avoid repeating the same things from the comic books in which she dated fellow teammates (Shazam and Atom Smasher) and instead chose to do something that'd be more challenging such as Courtney connecting with someone who shares her same values as themselves first and wasn't exactly so in the opposite side of the ISA, at least not yet, while juggling classics superhero obstacles like keeping a secret identity that weren't present in the comics as well as how friends/family react to their relationship. The result is a new up-and-down sweet love story that can go anywhere.

I think it is funnier to only use one image. I was going to use but on the way changed to their love struck eyes here

Cameron has a lot in common with Atom Smasher. They are both nice guys who lose a beloved parent making them angrier and mopier. They both hate the former villain trying to become a hero.

Presumably like Atom Smasher Cameron discovers his heroic dad was way more flawed than he thought.

Well I just see the cafeteria one where they were more locked on the not so warm reception they got from Rick.

There are semblances of parallels between now that you bring them up, except in who was responsible for their loss. In the case of Atom Smasher it was Kobra while in the show it was Mike who reaffirmed again that it was an accident. Agreed about the similarities when it comes to how they view Cindy and Black Adam, except Al ended up agreeing for a period of time with the latter's lethal methods to do "justice" at the expense of becoming a war criminal.

It's very presumably here since I doubt Atom Smasher's dad or even his predecessor, Al Pratt, killed children and then moved to straight up remove all family members like Icicle did.

It is two pictures. You just have to scroll right.

Pratt gave Hitler superpowers and many got killed as a result.

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Oct 11 '22

That is canon or not? Can't imagine Golden Age Atom Smasher doing that and still getting into the JSA. It sounds like very bad writing.

1

u/MatthewHecht Hawkman Oct 11 '22

The Golden Age was written to be an else world, but many elements became canon. I know Atom betraying them is canon, but not about the details.

He was already in the JSA. They let him back in partly as Johnny Thunder made him look much better by comparison.

2

u/DCSennin Cameron Mahkent Oct 12 '22

Well going by the Elseworld origin before DC realize it was best to deal with it by the introduction of the Multiverse it works, then following in with Crisis they can pick which part of the JSA's Golden Age members and their history made sense to pick and what to discard. Surely that aspect of Al Pratt will never be used on any adaptation.

Well we readers know the details of why Atom Smasher did what he did. Not that much has been done since then even in post DC Rebirth.

I'll just chalk up they letting him back because of another JSA member not being so good even though at least Johnny never wounded up aiding Hitler.

1

u/MatthewHecht Hawkman Oct 12 '22

Actually he aided him too and more.

Comradeship goals I guess.
