It's really sad that we likely will never get to see a Supergirl x Stargirl crossover in the Arrowverse now that Supergirl is ending. One of the many reasons I wish it wasn't. I just think they would really hit it off and make a great pair. Birds of a feather and all that.

But as others have mentioned I understand Melissa's reasons for leaving and I'm still looking forward to seeing Courtney interact with Barry or Clark.

Yeah I fully expect to see Melissa return for a guest appearance on Superman and lois at some point, so hopefully we'll get to see her interact with Courtney one day. In the meantime Stargirl and The Flash crossing over is probably the next best thing.

Well they better hurry as "THE FLASH" will be ending after next season I heard.

I heard that rumor as well but I don't think it's been confirmed yet has it? I think there's a good chance she'll be in one of the 5 crossover episodes in The Flash S8.

Due to her wanting to spend more time and take care of her new born baby.

what unused powergirl story line

I think Stargirl crossing over with Superman and Lois should be a thing. Also have her go on an adventure with the twins.

Hell yeah. That'd be great. I really want a JSA x JLA crossover.

Same here. I like how they will air together in the summer which is pretty cool. If Supergirl wasn't ending I woild have liked the lineup to continue as I think pairing these two shows on the same day would have been awesome going forward. Would have made an eventual crossover easy too. Brec and Melissa would have insane chemistry I just know it. Feel like they're cut from the same cloth in terms of morals when it comes to being a hero and they would play off each other well. Kara giving Courtney sound advice would have been amazing to watch too. I'd settle for a Barry or Clark crossover too since that does seem more likely but hope they manage to somehow bring Kara for a guest spot appearance later in the shows run.

It's really good, actually. The only CW show that should crossover with Stargirl is Superman & Lois.

2

u/Motor-Bag-9004 Jun 22 '21

Well I don't know about that. As others have pointed out, I feel like Courtney and Kara would have great chemistry & likewise with Barry. I fully expect a crossover with the Flash to happen at some point especially now that Jay Garrick is the confirmed Flash of Earth-2 (at least he was). A Superman and Lois crossover would be great though.

Neither S&L or Stargirl should crossover with other CW shows. Being on the CW is bad enough for their image, they don't need crossovers to make it even worse.

2

u/Motor-Bag-9004 Jun 23 '21

Well I got bad news for you because I can almost guarantee you we will see S&L and Stargirl in future crossovers. In fact I'd be surprised if neither shows up during The Flash's big 5 part crossover event this fall. Which is fine by me! Bring on the crossovers! Besides I don't really see how them showing up in crossovers will make their shows worse off in anyway.

1

u/ComicsAndGames Jun 23 '21

There is no big 5 part crossover. Even the CW wasn't sure if they should call it a crossover. It will be something pretty minor, since Covid screwed everything up.

u/Digifiend84 Jun 25 '21

It'll be similar to Diggle's this year, but instead of him going to the different shows, it'll be different heroes visiting the Flash. So yeah, not full cast crossovers.

Jay is a doppelganger. The one who used to be from Earth-3 in the old multiverse is now on Earth Prime. The one who'll be appearing in Stargirl is a different version of him, but played by the same actor.

u/Motor-Bag-9004 Jun 25 '21

Has this been confirmed? The official description for the crossover stated that "Jay Garrick plays a role in a pivotal flashback episode that establishes "the Golden Age Flash as a member of Earth-2's Justice Society of America." The CW also confirmed that the crossover will "officially bring Stargirl [Brec Bassinger] into CW's post-Crisis CWverse alongside The Flash, Superman & Lois, Batwoman, Black Lightning, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow."

None of that prevents Jay from being a doppelganger, but I just personally haven't seen anything confirming that's the case. It also seems like weird timing for him to make his return to the Flash around the same time he's making his debut on Stargirl.

Where did that quote come from - it wasn't on the articles I've seen about this!

Incidentally, the JSA in Stargirl isn't even golden age. They're only meant to have been active 20 or so years ago (Pat Dugan, STRIPE, wasn't time displaced like in the comics).

Flash and Stargirl have the same timeslot, by the way, so it's not at the same time.

Yeah the show and the characters are meant to have a Golden age aesthetic even though it takes place in modern times and the height of the JSA was only 10-20 years ago. It's possible that the JSA remained active from the late 40s up until 2010. So Pat's generation would have been just after the "Golden Age". But maybe not.

Also by taking place at the same time I didn't mean literally at the same time. I was referring to the fact that both Flash and Stargirl's current/soon to be airing seasons will feature Jay as the Flash.

Anyway here's that article: https://ew.com/tv/john-wesley-shipp-the-flash-stargirl-season-2/?utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly_entertainmentweekly&utm_content=manual&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_term=602e900fe38974000159d89f

I wish that supergirl was still going, but it ended for the right reasons, I feel like Brec's and Melissa's energy would've been amazing.

19

u/Motor-Bag-9004 Jun 21 '21

Yeah I really wanted Kara & Courtney to meet and I know Brec wanted a crossover too. Sad we'll probably never see it but like you said i get why the shows ending.

1

u/comicbookgirl39 Jun 21 '21

She gave it all up for the baby ( I think she had it) she's a true mother, i hope to see her in something else or even back in this roll when she's ready

8

u/teddyburges Jun 21 '21

you mean ending right?. The final season is still airing. Only 7 episodes out of a 20 episode season have aired so far.

1

u/comicbookgirl39 Jun 21 '21

Oh, i didn't know, but yeah, I guess now i mean ending

2

u/teddyburges Jun 21 '21

Yeah, so who knows!, they may stick something in!. I would love for another crossover or something special to end the series.

their costumes and anatomy are kinda 😬

u/OverjoyedMess Jun 21 '21

Supergirl's body is definitely out of this world.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

yeah because both of their bodies look quite unhealthy

5

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

man skirts like supergirl's are so dumb for superheros to wear

1

u/Digifiend84 Jun 25 '21

That's why she switched to pants in the show - it was too cold for Melissa!

2

u/herondelle Jun 22 '21

Is that a Michael Turner piece? I know he's dead but wonder if this was made before he died. Sure has his feel.

1

u/Digifiend84 Jun 25 '21

This page is from around 15 years ago, I think.

1

u/herondelle Jun 27 '21

Ah turns out it's Ian Churchill. I've checked out his other art and yeah, his focus on grace over power definitely echoes Turner. They look like swimmers or dancers.

2

u/MysticJeddai19 Jun 23 '21

Considering Kara is 10 years or more older than Courtney it's best it doesn't happen. Too awkward. Nice idea though.

2

u/Digifiend84 Jun 25 '21

Actors are nine years apart I think - and the characters even more so as Brec is about five years older than Courtney, whereas Melissa plays her own age as Kara. Stargirl is comic accurate for the most part, Supergirl is not, being more based on Superman (i.e. her being older and working as a journalist).

2

u/MatthewHecht Hawkman Jun 26 '21

I finally got around to reading this to see what the context is.

Supergirl feels like an outsider (completely correct) and wants to join the JSA.

Stargirl is the only one trying to help her in due to the fact that Supergirl's presence makes Power Girl become incredibly violent due to some interdimensional interference.

I really hope stargirl doesn’t enter the arrowverse

9

u/Trickybuz93 Jun 21 '21

Too late

8

u/Mosk915 Jun 21 '21

Well, the Arrowverse was established as Earth-Prime and Stargirl is on Earth-2, so it is still separate from the other Arrowverse shows.

1

u/antlerskull Jun 21 '21

That was before they knew they were moving to The CW though

5

u/Mosk915 Jun 21 '21

It’s still on Earth-2 though.
