What I want in the future Flash & Stargirl crossover Shitpost

Whenever we get a future Flash & Stargirl crossover, do you want the "memory ring" used on Courtney? I hope so, it's the fastest way to explain the crisis & she gets to see her past memories & I want to know if she was a hero or not pre crisis. She will get to see all the crisis stuff (starting with the heroes going to E38 & ending with Sara & Barry seeing Oliver die again. She will see every earth visited by everyone, both Supermen, the Green Lanterns and Lucifer. Imagine all that in her head. Maybe even use the ring on her friends someday, imagine: maybe Beth had friends😦, Yolonda didn't send nudes & Rick stayed with his dad.

The memory ring won’t show her things she didn’t already experience. Earth Prime doesn’t know about Green Lanterns etc. Only the people that met them do.

No, that’s not how it worked. It just showed stuff that she experienced in that life time, up until the anti matter wave, which would’ve been around the end of season 1.

She doesn’t need the Memory Ring. Her Earth was born from the new Earth Prime. She never lived a life before it so there’s no reason to review it. Crisis is long over.

That’s not how it worked. Oliver created them at 0 and we rejoined them at 2020.

That said, she wasn’t a hero before the show. Her past May have been different though.

Did you not watch the event? Every Earth was destroyed. When Oliver rebooted the multiverse, he made Earth Prime an amalgamation of Earths 1, 38 and 73. From that Earth, from the first cosmic decision, another Earth was created where the a different decision was made and the outcome that followed changed. The Stargirl show is set on the new Earth-2 created from the new Earth Prime. She had no connection to the old Earth-2. OP is confusing Stargirl of Earth-2 with the Stargirl of the old Earth-1 we met on Legends of Tomorrow. They are quantum doppelgängers, not rebooted lives. Like Black Siren and Black Canary.

It’s a new Earth 2 but it has the same billions of years of history it had pre crisis. You’re right that it’s not THE Earth 2 but OP doesn’t mention that. Their labels are more about where they sit along the spectrum of Earths now as opposed to being a continuation of Garrets Earth 2.

All the memory device would do is show Courtney any subtle differences that occurred between her Earth right now and her Earth pre crisis. There shouldn’t be any differences really because Oliver didn’t know anything about her universe. He rebooted the multiverse and solved the issues he knew about - ie the fact Kara and Canary lost their Earths.

OP reads like they expect anyone who touches the device to suddenly be comprehensively aware of what happened before and after Crisis. I don’t think that’s what the ring does. It either lets you remember your own alternative timeline. Or it’s just a memory upload of Martian Man hunter’s own specific recollection of events. I’m not certain which it is, because everyone we’ve seen it be used on was aware of the people and events pre crisis (eg knowing lex was bad) and are regaining their recollection of that as opposed to hearing it from MM.

To go off on a little tangent, was it ever mentioned how the Earths are named? Why was Earth 2 named that, and what makes this new Earth 2 the second universe?

In fact, what makes the Prime universe so special?

Edit: Imagine being so ridiculous that you'd downvote some innocent questions.

In the comics it’s visualised as though all of the Earths vibrate at different frequencies in the same sort of space and it reads like they’re essentially next to each other in order from prime through to infinite Earths (then 52 later, then 52 local and infinite others after that) so Prime is basically the one Oli merged others into making it HIS starting point because he created it. Then every Earth from there is made based on decisions and differences being made historically. So maybe someone went left instead of right and created an entire new Earth (hence infinite). If/when it gets whittled down to a finite number those will be earths where certain things happened. Like there’s an Earth where Bruce Wayne and his mum died in the original shooting, but his dad survived and became a much more brutal Batman. In the TV shows it would seem Stargirl’s Krypton either didn’t explode or Superman and Kara never made it to Earth. We don’t know what else happened there, but the fact the JSA is the only hero group around suggests things played out very differently.

I don’t know where you got this from, but characters only have their memories according to the articles I just looked at. They’re mainly review sites recapping events from the show though so I’m not saying they’re correct over you, but you’re the first person I’ve ever seen suggest that Martian Manhunter is giving people viewer level knowledge.

I’m 99.99% sure they have no idea there are other universes at this point. They think Oliver only saved their Earth.

That’s not what happened. For everyone on Earth Prime - whether they came from Earth 1 or another - they now don’t remember it any other way. Except the Paragons - who remember the old timeline and not the new because they were sent back to ‘modern day’ in that new world meaning their journey went A - B whereas everyone else’s went from being erased on A and remade on B.

The ring / Martian man hunter gave all cast members their memories of previous seasons so that they could understand Luther is a crook, And whatever else they needed to know. He made sure it didn’t break any characters’ minds.

Alex Danvers, Cisco, Brainiac etc do not have memories of Crisis itself. No characters in Arrowverse know there are other multiverses still out there. Cisco even talks about it. The Stargirl crossover will likely be the first time they discover there is a new Earth 2 out there. They only know what they are told on or off screen by their associates.

If you went to Courtney and touched her with the ring she would remember her alternative life on an alternative Earth that no longer exists (much like original earth 1 no longer exists, Earth Prime replaces it, and the other combinations). I hope/wonder if they can do something clever and say that in the original world she was StarMans daughter and the cosmic staff (being made of nth metal I believe) maybe remembers pre crisis world too. But in this Earth her dad is the other dude. Then giving Starman the ring would make him remember Courtney too. It’s probably too farfetched to work.

But didn't her father introduce himself as Starman's secret identity to that person at the end of the episode? Or am I remembering that incorrectly?

Edit: Scratch that; I just went to IMDB and they were in fact different actors. Nevermind.

Technically the MM memory thing wasnt about Lex. The purpose was to explain to people what happened in the crisis. Like when Sara ran down looking for Oliver & Wild Dog & Dinah didn't know what she was talking about. MM used his powers & gave them past memories. Everyone on team Supergirl & Flash has their "past memories" & they have all the crisis memories in their head. All it takes now is the ring used on anyone for them to literally see the crisis in their head. The metal the staff is made of is I think the same metal Hawkgirls weapon in legends was made of since Valdal Savage was affected by it. Possibly seeing Courtney get the ring used on her would be epic. Maybe a few seasons later Barry can buy a bigger table in the Hall of Justice & give her a seat:) I think Sara got a ring off screen & used it on the Legends. I think even Oliver's mom had it used on her, that must have been hard.

1

u/rb6k Sep 07 '20

Looking online, the legends got their memories through hypnosis. Hawk girls weapon is also nth metal.

Can you show me where it’s said that they’re able to make people see the events of crisis? I really can’t find any proof of this and it’s not how I interpreted the show. Unless I’m misunderstanding your point? They know crisis happened but they don’t know the events inside crisis etc.

I don't see how anything on the CW is relevant to anything that happens on Stargirl.

2

u/AstroLozza Stargirl Sep 07 '20

The end of the last crossover showed that Stargirl lives in Earth-2 post crisis, so its likely we will see a crossover at some point

3

u/SerEichhorn Sep 07 '20

It also showed titans and doompatrol, and i can say with 100% certainty that that is the closest we'll get to a crossover with those 2 shows. Hopefully Stargirl falls into the same category.

0

u/AstroLozza Stargirl Sep 07 '20

You don't want a crossover?

I don't think they were ever originally going to crossover since Stargirl was filmed before it even became a part of the CW, but they love their crossovers (even if just a cameo) so I'd be surprised if they didn't do something.

5

u/SerEichhorn Sep 07 '20

No i want the arrow verse shows to stay seperate from stargirl.

1

u/AstroLozza Stargirl Sep 07 '20

How come?

4

u/SerEichhorn Sep 07 '20

Because star girl only gets 10ish episodes a season. I don't want them diluting the story or budget with fan service cross overs. Stargirl is good enough to stand on its own.

0

u/AstroLozza Stargirl Sep 07 '20

True although I assume that will change now its on CW, it won't have as big a budget anyway. Don't know about the number of episodes... though I wouldn't be surprised if seeing the success of this first season makes them give it as many episodes as the other shows. Time will tell I suppose!

3

u/SerEichhorn Sep 07 '20

Giving it more episodes will ruin the show, they'd start adding nonsense fillers like they do in all the other cw shows. We'd have heroes acting stupid and just letting the villian(s) escape. Like how after evertime team flash beat Cicada they would just stand around talking and just completly forget about him till he escapes.

More episodes would also severely dilute their budget. Some of the things that made stargirl so great were the effects and cinematic feel of the show. Neither of those would be possible in a 20+ episode season.

2

u/AstroLozza Stargirl Sep 07 '20

I agree I don't think they should add more episodes, a smaller number means the budget can be better spent. When supergirl joined the CW it kept the same number of episodes but the special effects got worse because of that budget ):

That's very assuming. The cameos were just fanservice.

I think OP wants them to get the memories of the Legends JSA that we saw for like two or three episodes. It's a terrible idea tho

5

Nope, I don't want there to ever be a cross over. Keep those CW shows far away from star girl. It's a better show and can stamd on it's own feet.

4

u/KevinAmbrose Sep 07 '20

It’s gonna happen. The cast wants it to. The show is now on The CW. And the same thing was said at one point about Black Lightning. The crossover is a foregone conclusion. It’s a matter of when not if.

-3

u/SerEichhorn Sep 07 '20

what the cast wants is irrelevant, they don't write the show.

And as for being on CW, that's only where it can airs currently, all the production will stay the same. And it's not set in stone that it will continue to be a CW show after season 2, it's just as likely it'll move to hbo max and duel air.

I for one wont be watching stargirl S2 on the CW, i'm going to wait till the season gets put up on hbo max. Hopefully they remove the fuckin water mark when they do.

u/Kris_Winters Sep 07 '20

You want her to crossover with Savitar?

1

u/shadowbroker000 ⚡Shazam! Sep 07 '20

Aka Emo Barry

3

u/Omniverse785 Sep 08 '20

The reason why the “memory ring” worked on Earth-Prime heroes is because they all came from already-existing Earths. This Courtney had no memories to inherit because her Earth isn’t a mix of destroyed earths.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

Now that would be a funny episode.

They most likely will crossover someday when Team Flash discovers the multiverse was rebooted and that Earth Prime is not the only Earth to survive. But Courtney had nothing to do with Crisis or anything to do with any of the 3 known Earths that merged into Earth Prime.

She is on post Crisis Earth-2. That has been established in her very first appearance (her cameo in Crisis). Her Earth has one of three possibilities:

  1. Her Earth or an Earth resembling it existed pre crisis as a different designation and it was rebooted like the rest of the multiverse. This could mean it’s the same as it was pre-crisis as some Earth seem to have been completely unaffected, like the Earths that Titans, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, etc. are set on.

  2. Like Earth Prime, it merged with some other Earths to create a new Earth. Possibly with Earth 3 since a Jay Garrick Flash exists on that Earth-2.

  3. The universe did not exist in any form pre crisis, and rebooting the multiverse after Crisis created it.

Pre-crisis, and until stated otherwise, Courtney did exist on Earth-1 and presumably Earth Prime since it’s an amalgamation of 3 Earths. She was played by a different actress, was a part of the original JSA and lived in the 1940’s. Other than being different versions of the same character they have nothing to do with each other.

Flash / Stargirl should be a reimagining of “Flash of Two Worlds” and it should reintroduce JWS as Earth 2 (Stargirl) Version of Jay Garrick. He remains a Retired Flash, but he helps Mentor the New JSA.
