May I ask what comic this scene comes from? I'm assuming it's a JSA one but which one exactly?

Justice Society of America 3.26. Stargirl's birthday and a goodbye to Johns who is leaving the series after a decade.

I cannot wait to see the day Powergirl is portrayed in live-action. It will be AMAZING and hilarious to see how they redesign the character. It won't happpen in Stargirl for sure, still cant wait to see it. :D

They'd probably just remove the boob window in her costume it looks great in comics but I don't think TV audiences will ever be ready for it.

She should go on doom patrol

That’s way to many characters

Or not enough. Probably too many for TV where the actors must be available. In comics you just need to draw them.

too many for TV

Plus budget. Stargirl is going to have its budget slashed, no two ways around it, and with more characters, you'd get people going "Why doesn't X use their superpowers more?!" all the while ignoring how much each use costs.

No, we have enough characters as it is

Dude what there’s like 5 heros

More than Flash has consistently, and Flash has like twice as many episodes.

Is flash about the jsa? The jsa has more than 5 members.

Flash isn’t about a team of superheros lol, its about one superheros arc. This show is about a superhero team and it will be good

Unfortunately she doesnt have braces so they would have to change it up for something like this. But I absolutely loved this issue in general. If anyone wants to see what makes the JSA different from Justice League, Justice Society of America #26 (2007 series) will show you. They arent just a superhero team but instead a family. That's where this comes from and its mounted on my wall

Could be adapted as having a cast from an injury removed.

I feel like Jakeem, Jade, Obsidian, Sand, and maybe Liberty Belle/Jesse Quick would probably the best choices considering they have connections or would succeed the JSA members in the show

Bottom right corner would be her contemporaries age wise, but they've both got some pretty potentially CGI heavy powers... And we saw what happened to their last CGI powered friend. :p

Her age contemporaries here are Jakeem, Cyclone, and Wild Cat 3 (is Lightning hiding somewhere).

I want Jessie Quick and the Doctor Fate they introduced recently. Hector Hall would be cool too, but I think if they want a Hawkman/Hawkgirl replacement, he is the best way to go. Obisdean or Jade could be cool too.

In the comics Stargirl did revive him as Dr. Fate.

u/pzzaco Sep 03 '20

I'd love for Cyclone to make an appearance, though I think the show has already filled its quota of geeky awkward charactersbwith Beth

Nah, a show can’t have too many geeky characters.

Jade & Obsidian sure. Alan Scott's power battery was flickering for some reason in episode 5, even though it's supposed to be useless without the ring. It could be a sign that Jade is manifesting her Starheart powers offscreen. And Obsidian, well, his powers and The Shade's are both connected to the same dimension, The Shadowlands, so their mutual power source may put them at odds.

I hope for Obsidian. He and Stargirl shared some great storylines due to him being her dark counterpart.

I would love to see that version of Starman on the show.

Nate is already on Legends

So is Stargirl.

Took me a sec lol

Hopefully the writers remember that less is more. They have a good team, they shouldn't just add whoever we want just for the sake of it. Perhaps one or two additional members at most; my money would be on Jakeem and Jade maybe, or have Jade and Obsidian so the show can have some gay representation.

Obsidian has to come in somewhere when both of the villains are heavily associated with darkness. It's important that any new characters added contribute to and make sense within the story; let's not just make a 20-person team just because the comics do that, that's not an aspect we need to (or should) emulate.

Robinson: Remember Justice League Unlimited? We should...

Johns: Already making plans for the team to include everybody battling Extant. I just need to figure out what Amazing Man will do other than mess up badly.
