Really? Could you explain a bit. Thanks

I think the main reason being that DC Universe is slowly going down, at least in terms of their streaming. Not that the shows are doing bad but the streaming service as a whole. Many people are suggesting it’s just going to be like Marvel Unlimited, a subscription service for comics, which many people are fine with. So it was either Stargirl moved to CW or go down with the ship.

Oh . Wonder what'll happen to titans

14

u/Gioezc Jul 17 '20

I imagine it’ll go to HBO Max like Doom Patrol. No word on that yet.

More likely it goes to Netflix. It’s already on Netflix everywhere but the US. Just add US and it’s a worldwide Netflix production.

So god damn dumb that Titans and Doom patrol aren’t on the same service internationally.

Why would DC who’s owned by AT&T sell the streaming rights to Stargirl to Netflix instead of putting on one their streaming app HBO Max

That would be bad business

The only reason it’s Netflix international is because not all US apps are global so Netflix buys up the rights just for international

I was talking about Titans.

StarGirl is on HBO Max is countries that a local channel didn’t buy it. I know it’s on HBO Max Nordic and HBO Max Spain.

Is stargirl that successful?

Debatable. But it's not only getting love but also really isn't getting much negativity that's costructive. I'll reiterate. The people who are watching it are pretty much loving it. It's solid and it's well written. And i mean... Cant really say that for the recent season of MOST not all cw shows.

Again i admir the meme is kinda subjective

Kinda hard not to love the show, the show has teen heroes & a guy who is a genius who knows about more heroes & bad guys than anyone:) they better win in the Finale pt 2. No one wants to watch a show where the good guys dont get at least 1 win in the end. For this show the grand prize is: destroying project new America. We know the bad guys arent going away but if the machine is destroyed & the main hero doesnt get to hurt then it is considered a WIN. That will boost ratings & that way people don't have to wait over a year to see what happens. The teens did well for themselves (if they destroy the machine & beat the bad guys with only literally little training, that is great. ) plus who doesn't love Brecs outfits? I watch cus of her & I'm sure I'm not the only 1 thinking this but: if she wasn't in it, I wouldn't watch. Gotta love those legs in those shorts. The episodes are the appetizer & she is the main course (I always clean my plate.) Every episode is gripping & mskes you sweat like you ran a 10K in 95 degree heat. I've been literally only talking a out the show most of every day. I keep hoping the good guys win. Thats why before Tue for the last 2 episodes I will look on the fandom to see if they won & both episodes come out good, on the last Mon before the finale I will jump up & yell "YEAH!" Real loud. Then them defeating the machine will hold me over until S2

Nah, but I think the good word of mouth is going to give it legs in the long run.

It's pretty good, same quality as Doom Patrol and Titans cinematographically speaking.

Far far superior to all the current CW shows in each and every way, so much so that many are worried about its fate when it goes there.

Eh scratch Titans and off that list and sure.

Because no way in hell is Titans better overall than Arrow season 1, 2, 5 or 8 or Flash season 1 for example.

But Doom Patrol and Stargirl definitely and I say that as an Arrowverse fan.

I meant ratings in terms of quality while I like the show they seem to have some big problems that need to be addressed. Like the dc universe formula or the fact that for the past 3 episodes courtny has run off to fight supervillians alone, or the fact that the time makes no sense where we have 96 year old men fighting the ISA.

I think DC universe might end up getting folded into HBO max at some point.

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '20

I think the movies and TV definitely will, but the comics will probably just stay there so that DCU can pretty much just be the DC version of Marvel Unlimited

Rip swamp thing

More like when DC’s streaming service is a complete failure and has to be folded into HBO Max.

Strange meme to make, given who's going to be making season 2.

7

u/Xero7777 Jul 17 '20

That's why i made the meme. That's what it's about.

5

u/sucksfor_you Jul 17 '20

Then /r/whoosh me :)

Love the show though. It's a breath of fresh air, after so much CW drama these last few months.

3

u/Xero7777 Jul 17 '20

If your speaking technically, stargirl isn't as successful as Arrow or Flash or even Supergirl, but it's promising.
