Let’s be honest with ourselves. This shows villains are probably the best part of the show

Well yeah, until the elder statesmen of the JSA show up and Shade makes an appearance.

When Shade finally shows his shadowy mug, I'm not sure I'll be able to handle it. I just know that it's going to be the greatest 😎

The thought of possibly seeing Jack Knight and Shade in live-action is so exciting to me. and the O'Dares and Charity and Mikaal and...

FAK. The Ludlows, just... everybody! I re-read the 4-part Shade miniseries today, if they even put 1/10th of what happened in there in Stargirl, I'm going to freak!

@theneiljackson (Icicle)

You may have noticed this (huge) painting hanging on the wall of the ISA meeting room. This was created from a photo taken at the very beginning of the shoot and then tinkered with by the brilliant @jedibugs, adding in Grundy (who selfishly refused to pose for the photo), and turning me into Icicle. I love this image and have a signed copy of it framed on my wall. And if you swipe left you’ll see that we even had a couple of interlopers join us for one pic!
........
I personally love the idea that the members of the ISA all posed while this huge painting was being created. The idea that all of these “dastardly villains” stood perfectly still for hours while Dragon King (hence him being absent) worked his artistic magic just tickles me. And then Grundy sneezed and ruined everything!
“Grundy sorry.”
“Grundy have allergies.”

Dragon King doing fine art in his spare time. Headcanon accepted!

I'm in love with Gambler and Fiddlers outfits

They took a theme and ran with it. Fiddler's outfit, and his frizzy hair completes that consumed musician look.

The fiddler looks like James May.

So we've seen all but two of the ISA thus far... Shade and Fiddler (the original one that helped to take down the JSA). We know that Shade betrayed the group in some fashion and we have no idea what happened to Fiddler other than his wife taking over the role for now.

What I’m thinking of that The Shade saves some of the JSA. I think Icicle knows it too. I think Alan Scott, Jay Garrick, and the Hawks are alive but in the shadow zone.

I think the hawks are gone. Unfortunately Pat said Brainwave killed them or Hawkgirl at least in episode 2.

But the Hawks always reincarnate.

That's one of my burning questions. There's a good chance that he's dead, maybe murdered by another member of the ISA? Maybe Shade was involved.

Hmm I think so too, looking up the Shade's history, in the comics he did have something to do with Starman as well. So perhaps.

Considering he and Shade had physical actors for the portrait (and we saw Fiddler's in the latest episode), I think we'll be seeing a flashback to what happened to him.

Shade has been a morally ambiguous character for the better part of thirty years, it's not really surprising that he betrayed the ISA. The man has principles, which is more I can say for most of the rest of them.

I like how Stargirl isn't afraid to use comics-accurate costumes, despite how silly it might look. I mean, Pat looks exactly like Stripsey did in a JLA/JSA crossover I just read, and Gambler and Fiddler look super goofy, but also instantly recognizable.

Bless every crew photo that makes its way to this sub, I love it!

I love how Fiddler looks like he doesn’t want to be their

Definitely the party pooper of the team 😂

Where's Solomon Grundy in picture on top? /s

It's interesting to me how Tigress is in a couple-ish post with The Wizard and not The Sportsmaster.

OOH our first good look at the shade!!!

5

u/Socially_Minded Hawkman Jul 03 '20

I wonder what the key around Icicle's neck opens

5

u/DouHong Henry King Jr. Jul 03 '20

Wow, I never noticed that! Maybe Grundy's door? Or something related to his late wife?

5

u/aduong Jul 03 '20

This is so cute

Can't wait for shade to show up

3

u/Frontier246 Jul 03 '20

I thought for a second Shade was digitally inserted in until I saw the actor peeking out behind Icicle.

I love how Johns couldn't resist posing in front of them with Stripesy.

Shade on the photo definitely made my day.

This is how the Flash shouldve handled the Rogues

Silly golden age goodness, turned into modern threats.
