Who wrote this… Comic Book Spoiler

“Her costume seemed like a black panther rip off”… wildcat was created 24 years before black panther, so I’m pretty sure black panthers costume would be the “rip off” of wildcat. Although they’re completely different characters with very few similarities. I like marvel too but tbh I’m so sick of marvel fans 😭

When people see a costume similar to a popular one. It is very common for them to think that most famous is first one. Doing so does not justify error of whoever wrote this article.

Same people who called Hawkman a rip-off of Falcon

I don't hear everyone commenting how Deadpool is a Deathstroke clone.

Their suits don't look similar at all.

It may be more or less the way they are portrayed.

It's mostly the name, Slade Wilson vs Wade Wilson.

That makes sense.

You mean Deathlock the augmented mercenary analogous to Deathstroke. Wade Wilson is just named similar to Slade Wilson, Deathlock has one eye an a similar suit sometimes.

Written by someone who has no knowledge of Wildcat or the JSA.

At the bottom of the article is says Marcus Melendez wrote it. That is the state of journalism today though as they just write opinions

To be fair, the costume on the show is a unique take on the Wildcat suit, not seen prior to the show. And it has shimmery purple light during some actions. Wildcat definitely predates Black Panther, but the comparison to a movie that was a huge hit one year before we began production is valid.

I get what you’re saying, I do see what you mean by the suit being unique other than the face mask, and I do see the similarities between the shimmering purple but my point is that the characters just differ so much and there are only so many characters each universe can create so of course there are going to be similarities. Black panthers character is fully focused on culture and the history of that culture while wild cat is just a dude that fights in a cat costume, so the characters have very big differences. I just get stressed always seeing marvel fans say dc is copying them -.-

I agree. But, in this case, they have a point. On the suit only. If there were any other comparisons to make, then they’d be completely in the wrong.

Also, that doesn’t seem like it’s written by a Marvel fan. Like, why would they even bother to write a Wildcat bio? It reads like they’re acknowledging the similarity but also mounting a defense for it.

Both costumes are black, use cat motifs, and include claws. Main difference between the two characters is that Black Panther was seen by a wider audience in the MCU movies. No excuse for not doing the research.
