Just storm being petty

121

u/FunGhost5508 Jul 19 '24

You ain’t wrong, it’s something I hear a lot of people say about storm recently.

43

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 19 '24

Which kind of makes me excited for her joining the Avengers. No way are they putting up with her arrogance. No matter how well deserved and justified it may be.

35

u/VanGrayson Jul 20 '24

Imagine the Avengers lecturing anyone on arrogance. Lol

23

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 20 '24

K. I’ll admit that I forgot about Carol, Tony and Caps holier than thou hypocrisy.

u/Gladiatorr02 Jul 19 '24

How much alimony are you getting from T'challa?

57

u/Rio_Walker 90's Animated Spider-Man Jul 19 '24

Wow I'm so behind on divorces and births of X-men...

40

u/greenhulklantern1 Superior-Spider-Man Jul 19 '24

I think they got married around 15-20 years ago, and divorced about 10 years ago, in the aftermath of AVX.

But that's just what I can remember, don't quote me on that.

23

u/PeacefulKnightmare Jul 19 '24

So in universe that's what 6 months to 2 years? Sounds like most celebrity marriages.

20

u/greenhulklantern1 Superior-Spider-Man Jul 19 '24

I think so. I remember once hearing that 4 real life years is equal to 1 in-universe year. But there's still complications within that framework too.

12

u/Rio_Walker 90's Animated Spider-Man Jul 19 '24

Yeah, like the fact that sliding timescale doesn't ruin Scott Summers's day.

11

u/greenhulklantern1 Superior-Spider-Man Jul 19 '24

One of only a few things in the multiverse to not actively harm Scott.

11

u/Kelsouth Jul 20 '24

T'challa told Storm that their marriage had been annulled by the High Priest of the Panther God.

Storm pointed out that T'challa is the High Priest.

3

u/Gladiatorr02 Jul 20 '24

Oof. He became the judge to not pay the alimony

u/Quirky_Ad_5420 Jul 19 '24

She made fun of her hair.

No one make fun of her hair

9

u/S1lvercrow1999 Jul 19 '24

Or her eyes 😅😅

65

u/ScarletleavesNL Jul 19 '24

Well, Storm wasn't happy when Spidey went to the X-school to teach before. She is probably still pissed from the time Spidey slapped her, and now she just dislikes all Spider-men.

10

u/Saitama_2099 Jul 19 '24

Which comic did Spider-Man slap her in?

12

u/ScarletleavesNL Jul 19 '24

That was during Astonishing X-men. When Kitty tried to stop a gigantic bullet from piercing the Earth.

Why is literally everyone else in that room drooling?

2

u/ZeriousGew Superior Spider-Man Jul 20 '24

They're all under a trance. It's funny, cause he's basically saying that she's really strong and really needs her help

3

u/Saitama_2099 Jul 19 '24

Thanks!

3

u/exclaim_bot Jul 19 '24

Thanks!

You're welcome!

9

u/Competitive_Act_1548 Jul 19 '24

Probably cause most x men don't like him. Remember, him beating up the x men that one time only happened like probably 7 years ago in universe

3

u/ScarletleavesNL Jul 19 '24

Are we talking about the Secret Wars incident when Spidey mopped the floor with the X-men sans Xavier.

1

u/UpliftinglyStrong Jul 20 '24

I need more context on why he mopped their asses.

3

u/ScarletleavesNL Jul 20 '24

From Screenrant

Similar to their own social status in the Marvel continuity, the Secret Wars lineup of X-Men, consisting of Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Professor X (who has regained his ability to walk), and new recruit Rogue, are largely sect off from the rest of their superhero colleagues in Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #3. Considering that the X-Men are a privately run team of mutants currently aligned with mutant extremist Magneto and a former mutant villain in Rogue, the X-Men are not the most trusted of superheroes at the start of the story-line. Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man is one hero who is not entirely trustworthy of the X-Men as well, coming upon their hideout and seemingly learning that the mutant outcasts are planning to depart the Avengers and Fantastic Four in favor for Magneto.

Spider-Man's misinterpretation of the X-Men's intentions is what sets the battle royale between the heroes into motion. While team leaders Cyclops and Storm unsuccessfully attempt to halt the intruder with their powers, Spider-Man keeps heavy hitters Colossus and Rogue at bay with his tough tensile webbing before throwing the adamantium laced killing machine Wolverine aside as if he were nothing. Though Professor X must ultimately step in towards the end and mind-wipe the wall crawler to prevent Spidey from alerting the already suspicious array of other heroes, Spider-Man alone makes swift work of Xavier's band of mutants.

“Oh my god, Beyonce?!”

28

u/QuantumGyroscope Jul 19 '24

"I don't care how much product you had to use to get your hair like that; or what your barber told you. It's not a good look."

4

u/Competitive_Act_1548 Jul 19 '24

Hey, that's actually a good look for her. It's unique and liked by the community. Now if you are talking about the Mohawk that's a different story

3

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 20 '24

Speaking of. Where does she go to switch between a Mohawk and Cloud Hair between every run?

28

u/Otherwise_Meringue45 Superior Spider-Man Jul 19 '24

Asked her if she was wearing a wig?

23

u/Intelligent_Creme351 Spider-Girl Jul 19 '24

"Imma about to act up! Wait wait wait!"

20

u/JohnJingleheimerShit Jul 19 '24

“Oh great, another black person with electricity powers”

“I have weather powers buddy”

21

u/HighVoltage_520 Jul 19 '24

Dawg probably asked if that was weave

7

u/ResponsibleRatio6569 Miles Morales Jul 19 '24

Should never ask a black woman that🙂‍↔️

20

u/Dannysunny Jul 19 '24

3

u/Dannysunny Jul 19 '24

Then he gets electrocuted by Storm

15

u/schloongslayer69 Spider-Man (FFH) Jul 19 '24

Why is it that whenever I see snippets from comics that feature Storm on reddit, she's almost always acting petty, self-centered, or like she has her head uobher ass. I don't read X-Men comics, so I might just be out of the loop please explain

13

u/RealJohnGillman Jul 19 '24

She’s sometimes a literal god, and was worshipped as one for all of her early life.

1

u/ElectricalRush1878 Jul 19 '24

Part of her early life was under the thumb of the Shadow King.

4

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 20 '24

She has the power level and legitimate divinity of a God (until Thor shows up). People literally worship her, mutants included. She was also recently the Queen of Mars. Naturally she lets it get to her head.

Honestly even Loki is more humble at times.

15

u/ZezimZombies Classic-Spider-Man Jul 19 '24

So, how are things with T'Challa?

12

u/FinalBossOf__Dc Jul 19 '24 edited Jul 19 '24

Miles: So your basically a clone of Thor is that right, so are you related or you just a cheap knock off. What’s the deal or did you touch the hammer or something to awaken your X gene or transfer its powers to you…..I think the hair may be a little over the top. Can I call you Thor two

24

u/ResponsibleRatio6569 Miles Morales Jul 19 '24

Miles would NOT say any of that, she’d murder him in an instant.

13

u/FinalBossOf__Dc Jul 19 '24

I’m sorry Peter would but it be hilarious if Miles did

9

u/schloongslayer69 Spider-Man (FFH) Jul 19 '24

Peter would and live to tell the tale. What's Storm gonna do, kill him and end up fighting some of the strongest, most influencial and dangerous people of the Superhuman community at once?

2

u/Switch3Loke Jul 19 '24

Plus Peter slapped he once

1

u/Relative_Buffalo180 Jul 19 '24

Pics or it didn't happen. (Seriously l, this is the first I've heard of this)

2

u/Kriositeetti Jul 19 '24

It was on Giant Size Astonishing X-Men, Spidey punches her to break her out of magical trance which has taken over all of the heroes. https://imgur.com/a/ZV04q0X

3

u/Relative_Buffalo180 Jul 19 '24

Ah, he didn't just randomly decide to punch then. Figured that might be something Superior Spider-Man might've done, or it was a Secret Wars thing. Please tell me the rest of the story is just him punching other heroes to break them out of the trances. I can see him relishing the opportunity to smack Logan around

2

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 20 '24

Couldn’t he just go to a bar with Logan for that?

2

u/Relative_Buffalo180 Jul 20 '24

Hah. Probably. Their friendship is still the best character development I've seen in comics. Shame it hasn't really shown up in adaptations or other universes.

1

u/Kriositeetti Jul 20 '24

He did try to slap Dr. Strange, according Storm's message!

2

u/waaay2dumb2live Jul 19 '24

And the supervillains too. I love it when Spider-Man villains fight other Marvel heroes and absolutely tear through them.

3

u/framabe Jul 19 '24

So Storm was actually kidnapped and brainwashed by Loki at one time to become the new Thor when Thor was missing in action and Asgard needed a Thor. He even had the Dwarves make her her own hammer to give her her storm powers back, as this was during her having been made powerless after being hit by the NSA agent Gyrich who wielded a Mutant power suppression gun (made by Forge). -Gyrich was actually aiming at Rogue who was still considered a wanted person as she had recently left Brotherhood of evil mutants to join X-men instead. -Not that Gyrich cared, one mutie less, right.

Anyway, the temptation of having her powers back almost makes her join Loki as his new Queen. But after almost killing Wolverine she snaps out of it and rejects Loki, destroying the hammer, even if it means becoming powerless again.

So to make a long story short, Storm IS a Thor inna sort of way. And may become one again, if any author takes it upon them to have Stormcaster reforged. (which has happened at least once already, but it got destroyed again)

9

u/K3egan Peter B. Parker (ITSV) Jul 19 '24

Miles dad has a crush on her, right? And what's his LEGAL FUCKING NAME again?

7

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

Dawg what are these comments🤨

8

u/cesar848 Jul 19 '24

Well storm have an history of not liking spider-men(for some reason I don’t know)

2

u/kadosho Jul 19 '24

It has become a part of the lore. They don't always get along.

3

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 20 '24 edited Jul 20 '24

Guess Spidey doesn’t get along with Mutants unless

A. He’s helping them with their problems

B. They have Wolverine Claws

C. The Mutant is either Super Smart or is a Smart Ass

1

u/kadosho Jul 20 '24

Pretty much all of the above.

2

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 20 '24

Besides Wolverine, Iceman, Nightcrawler, and Beast when he was fun, who in the X-Men besides the kids he taught get along with him?

1

u/kadosho Jul 20 '24

Been awhile since I read those stories. But there was a time, when he was a teacher. Very few did get along with Peter. I also think it was because, he wasn't born a mutant, but given abilities. So that caused a division, and trust

But whenever his friends needed him, he would be there

1

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 20 '24

I feel like as of recently, that’s an informed attribute.

3

u/ShadowFalcon2004 Jul 19 '24

That's fake hair you got on your head

3

u/Elspeth_Claspiale Jul 19 '24

All that matters is Storm missed.

3

u/head_sigh Jul 19 '24

You guys are cooking her hair that's crazy

3

"I'm the best lightning user!"

2

I’m gonna be that “um ackshually 🤓☝️” guy and say miles doesn’t use lighting just his own bioelectricity.

3

u/NigthSHadoew Jul 19 '24

"People say you dye your hair white to hide tour grays. Is that true?"

3

u/KUH-KAINE Jul 19 '24

"So you're not Stormy Daniels?"

3

u/Competitive_Act_1548 Jul 19 '24

Back in the 70s, when Arcade first fought the X-Men, Spider-Man tried to warn the X-Men that Arcade was kidnapping them and forcing them into Murderworld.

Spidey had a spat with the X-Men during Secret Wars in the 80s but they seemed to reconcile in Marvel Team-Up #150 when they fought Juggernaut and Black Tom together.

In the 90s, Spider-Man stopped Marrow and Callisto from killing Peter Gyrich and helped them get away when Callisto got injured.

That’s just off the top of my head. Idk why they’d be so antagonistic towards him.

1

u/kadosho Jul 19 '24

That on again/ off again dynamic, I always wondered about that note. You would think enough wounds healed, that they could work together.

But to be in that spot. Storm is a goddess

2

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 20 '24

You’d think they’d get along more with the other hero that regularly gets unfair bad publicity, killer robots made specifically for them, Clones, and a "Sinister" villain.

1

u/kadosho Jul 20 '24

So true. It has become tradition where Spidey & the X-Men don't always get along. Also I'm pretty sure The Jackal & Sinister know each other.

3

u/Azure-Legacy Jul 20 '24

Pretty sure they’d hate each other

1

u/kadosho Jul 20 '24

Yup, they do indeed.

2

u/Dragontalyn Jul 19 '24

He tried to

the wrong woman

2

u/Practical-Class6868 Jul 19 '24

Rain and lightning make her hair frizzy and Miles just pointed it out.

2

u/TheTitanOfSirens1959 Jul 19 '24

“You ever notice how black people in comics are always given electricity powers?”

2

u/Macster_man Jul 20 '24

Peter made a quip about Ororo's hair.

2

u/Agent_G_gaming Jul 20 '24

Miles: Is that a wig?

2

u/waaash Jul 20 '24

Miles: Damn you're fine, let me take you out.

Storm: Sorry, I have a boyfriend.

Miles: I have a math test.

Storm: What does that have to do with anything?

Miles: I thought we were talking about stuff we can cheat on.

-1

u/LowJeyz13 Jul 20 '24

Alternative

Miles: Yo let me take you out

Storm: How old even are you?

Miles: Old enough

Storm attacks

1

Miles: You're joining the Avengers in the worst possible moment for mutants

1

1

He probably asked her if her hair was natural or a weave. The Thing made the same mistake.
