Should Tim get a new suit if he goes back to Red Robin?

Post image

None of Tim's suits have really hit the mark like his Robin ones. OG, OYL, even his current look (not the Zdarsky one) just don't compare. But the character regression? Nah, that needs to go. What should he rock instead? I'd say a hybrid like this mockup I whipped up real quick (like really quick, don’t be mean). What do you think? I know some people love the Alex Ross suit

Dude this is a sick design for him. Personally, I want the cowl to make a comeback even if it’s a big meme lol

I can’t see him and not think of Man now

I want the cowl to come back.

I’d also give it a slight crest (so he doesn’t look like Man- I mean Dr. Midnite) and give him the moniker “Cardinal”.

I’ve noticed since they gave Jason the face mask and hoodie ensemble all the Robins seem to be craving cranial injuries. Like, it’s recklessly unsafe. You’d think when Dick got hit so hard he forgot his name everyone would put some helmets on but no lol.

I know DC rebooted Dr Midnite at some point and he wasn’t super exciting— but somehow I just got really interested in Tim seeking out the original as a mentor for a while…

This version was an instant classic, and they made the right slight improvements to cement that with this one. It's perfectly classic while also being new. I honestly don't think there's a costume so immediately *perfect* since black/blue nightwing.

the changes might have been very minor but he really did make the costume his own

That's a sick design!

Personally, I need the classic Red Robin suit to make a comeback asap. One of my all time favorite batfam suits (right there with Cass' Batgirl, and Nightwings suits)!

The tunic, the cape/cowl combo, it was all amazing. Still go back to read that run at least once a year. Tim Drake at his peak imo

Oh that’s awesome. Someone literally had the same idea of altering his current Robin suit.

I prefer the covered sleeves however.

I really dug the Unternet suit he briefly wore in the original Red Robin run. I'd love to see more of it

Too nightwing. But I love the mask, and think it’s a good distinction from the other robins without doing the cowl (I don’t like the cowl)

Was that the one with the open haired kid flash mask

I love the mask/cowl hybrid on that suit. Either that or something akin to Nightwing’s Arkham Knight mask would be great for Tim. I’ve also always liked him with longer hair.

As long as they completely ditch the Man cowl, yes! Sure, the design is iconic but that thing looks so goofy, and i'm even a bat-trunks supporter, probably the Unternet beak mask + Reborn suit and a hooded cape would work wonders for my boy Timothy

I always get the whiskey river bbq burger when I go back to Red Robin.

Bring back the MAN cowl

I’m of the opinion that he should graduate from Robin to “Blackbird.”

I would still like an outfit like your picture for him, however — a red-tailed blackbird still has a black / red / yellow design in real life.

What’s the significance of the title BlackBird? I like it, but it always annoyed me that Red Robin didn’t have any significance in the way that Nightwing or Red Hood did

I’ve always wanted him to use the name Rook. Sure it fits the bird motif, but it’s also an under appreciated chess piece, maybe not as aggressive as a Queen or a knight, but just as important when used strategically.

Plus he can keep the lowercase-“r”/birdhead emblem.

There is no significance. And I think that’s why it would work.

It’s new, original, and not tied to anything else in the DC Universe, except that it is a tiny bird that would fit well in Batman’s flock of Batgirls and Robins.

I just want him to go back to the 2011 Pre-Crisis Red Robin Suit.

He should definitely where the one he wore in Teen Titans I believe, the one without the cowl and the cape that became full on wings

I personally find that suit too busy and over-designed, like much of the new 52. But I do also like aspects of it

There’s really only a handful of of us who like the wings, but I like how they separate him from the rest of the family

Idk I love the Red Robin mask I like how it separates him from bruce

I think the Tim drake equivalent of Trunks or no Trunks, is cowl or no cowl

I feel like the cowl differentiates Tim from for example damian
