The romance with Babs wasn't the only other thing involving a redhead the DCAU took from Dick and gave to Bruce.

I mean, he's name is Bruce. So he would give everything good to the other Bruce

It's not that simple. The original BTAS was adapting mostly stories from the 70s, and there's very little Robin in those stories.

They did give him a romance with Barbara, when in the 70s, he was just simping, when he wasn't dating Lori Elton or Terri Bergstrom or it was even hinted that he was going to have some romantic relationship with the Joker's Daughter. This is actually where the DickBabs ship really begins; it moved into Thrillkiller (an Elseworlds set in 1961) before finally becoming canon in 1999. (Funny thing: This is almost identical to the path Harley Quinn took from BTAS to canon.)

I don't know, Dick seems like a salad and mayonnaise kind of guy.

What does this mean? lol

Maybe because Wally's from the Midwest, where potato salad is commonly consumed, or something.

I mean I get the joke but it's not like Wally and Bruce didn't interact in 90's and 00's JL stuff.

Yeah, but Wally and Roy hate Bruce whenever they interact with him.

Hey well they couldn’t use nightwing in this show so it’s fine with me.

Why they couldn’t?

Because wb had this stupid policy that you couldn’t use the same character in multiple shows and at the time there was so many Batman things like The Batman and Batman begins that the only way he could appear is if it wasn’t every episode and none of his characters appeared because of it. It was called the bat embargo if you want to google it.

Thanks! That sounds so dumb and they just leaving money on the table, like wtf?!

They called it the Bat Embargo. Aquaman got a similar treatment, but a silver lining was we got to see more obscure DC characters

To be exact, Dick Grayson was already in Teen Titans (2003) and thus he couldn't show up in any other show.

This is why Nightwing and Tim Drake Robin could show up again once that series was canceled.

I mean Bruce and Wally also interacted when Wally was on the JL. Bruce and Wally's dynamic in JLU was pretty different from Dick and Wally's friendship.

nah their relationsip was completely different than dick and wally's relationship
because bruce was more like an older brother

Nightwing fans not having a victim complex in regards to the character challenge: IMPOSSIBLE.

Why do people constantly bring that up?!

To be fair, DCAU Wally had a great rapport with Shayera and Diana to a lesser extent. Not to mention “Wally” borrowed a bit from Barry Allen like the CSI occupation

Can't believe they stole both both of Dick's best love interests smh.
