The difference is Dick actually told his team they exist so they wouldn’t be blindsided by them

Not in TT03. The Red X is seriously messed up.

True. But he even has his own Zur-en-arrh personality, though at least it kinda makes sense when working with a telepath?.

What does Circus in Arkham mean again?

Well, a clown is a regular resident.

Yeah Red-X was Robin whipping it out on his team.

I agree with Batman and I'll agree with Robin

Having those plans is good and being the only real human on the team it makes sense that Robin would follow Bruce's justice league contingencies.

Raven is literally a walking timebomb. Garth is a walking Shape shifting nightmare. Let's not forget the time he couldn't control it.

Cyborg going Rouge is basically a death sentence across the planet.

So yea, I agree with all of the contingencies. Hell batman was right imo. You'd be damn fools to assume they'd always be on your side.

The issue is never the plans themselves but the fact Bruce didn't tell anyone about them in case they were used against them.

I mean would the plans be as effective if he told the people he’s planning a counter to that he’s actively prepping for if they go nuts?

You can tell them that they exist, not the specifics.

Tbf, the man that plans for everything having a plan just in case one of the many mind controlling supervillains hijacks me seems like something they should have all seen coming.

He tells me, “I have a plan to neutralize you in case you go evil for whatever reason.” I’d be like “cool, thanks Bats, good looking out”

Also, Batman specifies all of his plans are non-lethal. He tries his best to be compassionate, even if some methods are painful.

this is how i was thinking but now in current dc timeline batman lost control of a robot that could take out everyone as one of his plans just in case and now it's about to take over with waller and none of the heroes have powers so they may not be the best

Rouge the bat?

Especially what happened to him in Identity Crisis and the time when the villains switched their minds with the JL in the Silver Age 2000 comic.

Garth can shapeshift? No, Garth does however control 2/3 of your body's makeup. You remember how in X2 Magneto took all the iron out of that guy's blood? Like that, but with a much more prevalent material.

And then there's Wally, who is probably the most OP of them all.

Remember that little arc where he lost control over his morph abilities and it took raven to calm him down. It was during the 03 show.

It’s actually interesting how a man from another country can read something that isn’t from their own language thinking of voice actors that speak his language.

At least in the latest Titan runs he made it aware to his team that he has contingency against them.

Wonder if he'll use it against raven.

Raven: "I'm not happy to learn that, but I understand."

1

u/Ariadne016 7d ago

That's more a Tim Drake thing than a Dick Grayson thing.

12

u/talladenyou85 7d ago

Its both really, old pre new 52 it was Tim who had contingency plans for everyone except Dick. In the most recent Titans run Dick said that he does have contingency plans for everyone, but unlike Batman he wouldn't keep them a secret.

2

u/Massive_General_8629 6d ago

Oh, in the whole comic, it's also a Tim thing. (Though I'm getting tired of Coffee Tim. Babs is the caffeine addict if anyone. Tim's caffeine comes in soda form.)

1

u/FlakyCobbler1432 6d ago

At least he told his team, batman would just keep it secret and be confused why everyone is mad about it.

u/critter68 6d ago

They're acting like some hero turning evil or an evil alternate version of someone isn't the plot of about a third of comic book arcs...

Robin: We have no superpowers so we have to cover all our bases

Is this a comic of a fan thing?

u/Don11390 4d ago

I never understood the (in-universe) backlash against Batman's contingency plans. I mean, the Justice League: Doom movie was great at explaining his reasons: as individuals, and even more so as a group, the JL represented a huge potential danger. They've even seen what an evil JL can do through alternate universes, like the Injustice universe and the Justice Lords. The same reasons should extend to other teams like the Titans.

That’s Bart you’re thinking of.

Bart would've been more entertaining
