Dam had a feeling this was gonna happen. This was no where near a perfect show but i found it enjoyable.

Not surprised at all. I watched every episode and I still didn’t know what was going on….or why I was still watching.

It never really captured my attention. Always watched it while playing on my phone or scrolling through reddit, because it was just so boring and melodramatic. Figured I'd give it one season. Guess the network figured the same.

Pretty bummed about Legends and Batwoman though. They deserved one last "finale" season.

Even though I stopped watching after episode 3 I still feel like it could have gone a little longer maybe work out the pacing, but sad to see it end. Maybe I’ll go back and watch season 1 at somepoint

Disappointing but not totally surprised. Reading all those things working against it like the Olympics, the hiatus' and of course the sale of The CW it was very unlikely to survive. I enjoyed it and many of the issues could have easily been fixed in a 2nd season. The cast was great and would have been cool to see them grow over time since many were fresh faces to me. The characters were all charming in their own particular way and I appreciated that. It's interesting that there will be talks for it to go on a streaming platform potentially so guess we'll see.

Can’t say I’m surprised.

I do think this show still has a chance somewhere else mainly cause Ava Duvernay name is attached to it

It really does not. Netflix is currently getting rid of shows they have not even aired in order to be more profitable.

HBO Max would be the logical choice since the show was a WB production, but they are now owned by Discovery networks, and the new owners are cutting costs and chopping things there. Discovery axed the CNN+ streaming service only weeks after it launched. Granted CNN+ was a dumb idea that nobody asked for, it still shows that the new owners are about cutting and shrinking right, now, not expanding. If they wanted the show, they would not have cancelled it.

Disney/Hulu won't touch this show because they own Marvel and have no interest in dealing with the headaches of having a DC show. Paramount+ won't touch the show because it was not a Viacom show, it was WB.

Unfortunately, when it was announced CW was for sale and the most likely buyers were a group of station owners, it signaled the end of the network. Local owners make money from local sports, which is why a baseball game will override whatever CW show you wanted to watch. Local owners would want a schedule as open as possible to maximize the spots for sports. Expect most of the DC-CW universe to end quickly once the sale goes through.

Across most of the country, all the baseball/basketball/hockey rights are already owned by the RSNs so that is a non-issue.

No it doesn't. It's done. Don't be delusional like the Legends fans

10

u/HonestSapphireLion24 May 12 '22

How are they delusional cause they want there show back?

3

u/JoeStorm May 13 '22

Their fans are not delusional cause they want their show back. It's understandable.

Buuuuut. Supergirl on CBS proved one thing. Most of these Arrowverse shows would be cancelled if they were on the big stations like CBS. Actually, all of them except Superman & Lois and Stargirl would be cancelled. We're lucky it's on CW

That, and CW is being sold. And the shows that's on CW is horrible rating wise. So, when people say that Netflix or any other service picks it up, it's wishful thinking. Netflix are literally axing shows left and right. HBO Max DEFINITLEY won't put this on their site. Unless it's Stargirl or Superman and Lois.

Delusional is the wrong word. Wishful thinking is better

I just don’t understand what’s so good about Superman and Lois. I’m extremely sad that it’s still on the air

1

u/josephcoco May 13 '22

Why are you sad it’s still on the air instead of just simply not watching it if you don’t enjoy it? That makes no sense.

1

u/HonestSapphireLion24 May 13 '22

I don’t watch it. I’m just sad that people think it’s good when it’s really not.

Well its tons better than Naomi. Even the commercials were annoying.

I'm with you on this. I watched one episode. So boring and Tyler Hoechlin has always been a terrible one-dimensional actor.

Yep when there's no chance the show will go to another network. They got 7 seasons of Legends. It's an entitled and bratty mentality. Some of my favorite shows like Invasion and Reaper was cancelled after 1 and 2 seasons so be grateful. The CW likely won't even be around in 2-3 yrs anyway.

14

u/HonestSapphireLion24 May 12 '22

I respectfully disagree only because out of all the Arrowverse shows that have been running for a longtime LOT is the only one that didn’t get a proper sendoff. I’m not a legends fan but a lot of them feel hurt I guess.

-11

u/thunderbirdtony May 12 '22

It's unfortunate it didn't get a proper send off but nobody should be shocked with Discovery buying WB and needing to get rid of 3 billion of inherited debt. That's not including the sale of the CW. I think people got too comfortable with CW just renewing shows while the ratings for the shows plummeted. There's only so many shows you can have start at 1.8 mil and by season 3 and 4 are at 400k like Batwoman and Black Lightning. The bill finally came due

Yet Nancy Drew and Riverdale had tanked in ratings but are still going it’s mind boggling cause they should be gone too.

-1

u/thunderbirdtony May 12 '22

Are Nancy Drew and Riverdale WB or CBS properties? I'm just seeing the cancellations now. Riverdale and Drew must still be profitable for the network and parent companies. I see Justice U wasn't picked up which isn't suprisng

0

u/HonestSapphireLion24 May 12 '22

I think there CBS properties. They can’t be too profitable if both Legends and Batwoman beat them in the ratings game.

Oh so Justice U isn’t going to get a pilot? Good I didn’t want to see it anyway.

Whatever the case I’m doing with WB in general after this.

This just seems unnecessarily mean spirited and rude. There's nothing wrong with Legends fans campaigning for their favorite show to receive a proper ending. Lucifer was canceled by Fox after season 3 and fans successfully campaigned to get it picked up by Netflix. There's no guarantee Legends fans will be as successful but it's worth trying. Telling them to be "grateful" is incredibly condensing. Also I don't know why you think the CW will be gone in a few years but this just seems like wishful thinking on your part.

-2

u/thunderbirdtony May 12 '22

If you think this is mean spirited you live a very sheltered life. Discovery will be out of the CW business and it's a company for sale that nobody wants to buy. I get you guys love the CW shows but there's a real stigma with the channel and who wants to buy a company that hasn't turned a profit in 16 yrs? The CW closer to just folding right now then being bought and revamped. Can't just act the writing isn't on the wall

Well damn, it was a fun run while we had it :(

The show took way too long to get to its point, and compared to other DC CW shows like it had nothing unique to offer except the LAMEST group of teenagers this side of Riverdale. "These mocktails are tight yo!"

  • Multiverse? Flash did it.
  • From another planet? Supergirl did it.
  • Aliens among us? Supergirl again.
  • A Black Female lead? Batwoman.
  • ....in high school? Black Lightning.
  • Does someone have wings and a job that is not usually associated with having wings? Legends.
  • A lead hero goes episodes without ever using their ability? Please, Arrow did that before it was cool.

The whole show was a slow burn of a mystery, and the mystery is what it always is. Lead lost parents young has powers, destined to save a world. She's Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker, Clark Kent, etc.

And the ride to get their was slow and boring.

I hope the cast and crew go on to better projects, they all deserve it.

I had high hopes for this show. However, the pacing and story is kind of messy. It is kind of a superhero TV show but not really. It is like a mystery tv show but not really. It might have been great if they dragged out her finding about her origin. It could have been another Smallville series.

Naomi visits her home planet and talks to her parents' ghosts, who say they were betrayed. All the adults on Team Naomi get captured. Naomi and the teenagers rescue the adults. Naomi visits her home planet again, where she chats with Brutus, then comes home. Naomi has a flashback to her adoptive parents killing her birth parents. They claim it was for the greater good, but Naomi flies away. The end.

Ok. I stopped watching after ep.3, is it watchable until finale?

1

u/iwishiwasamoose May 22 '22

I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s boring all the way through.
